Holidays with Grandparents
drsawzall commented on quokka's story chapter in Holidays with Grandparents
Well, we seem to have the beginnings of a bit of a kerfuffle and hope things can be smoothed over!! -
Welcome back and we are off to a great start!! Despite the effort not to escalate the issue with the football team and Alex, Quarterback Sam can't/won't begin to understand/take/accept any sort of challenge to his perceived top-dog status...it is not something he is willing to negotiate...The only way is to find another way to reason with him, which may be just as difficult as the first effort... He's coming from a place of self-indulgent power and will unreasonably meet any challenge head-on... I stepped in front of his path and stood with my nose inches from his. “IF they are, it’s none of my business, and it sure as hell isn’t any of yours. You need to get your goons to back down, Sam. Verbal abuse is bad enough, but if this keeps up, someone’s gonna get hurt.” “I don’t know where you think you are, Fowler, but in this school, the football team runs shit. That little fag mouthed off to one of my guys, and he’s gotta learn his place. You and your rats need to stay in your lane.” He glanced at Tommy, then back to me. “Are you going to let me get to class? Or is your rent-a-cop going to claim that I attacked you and put me in cuffs?” One hopes that reason will prevail, is it time for the next chapter yet???

Sweet...let the continuation commence!!!

The question is, if all of Silas's gay clients were deliberately underrepresented, could legal action be taken against the frigging scumbag???

Life has just become intriguing and fraught with danger....

I worry that Ralph is up to no good and will do something stupid...

Chapter 34 The Lighthouse
drsawzall commented on JLynch's story chapter in Chapter 34 The Lighthouse
Thank you for this and it is appreciated that you took the time to grace these pages with your work. Like any good tale, this begs for a sequel chapter or a dozen!!! -
Once again we are fortunate to have another story from the Boot series. While a rewrite it is worth the time to read and serves as a reminder how simple acts of kindness can have far more impact than thought. Please, take a moment to read this!!!

This put it very well and I concur with the sentiments expressed, I could not have said it any better!!!

While we all understand that Silas was let go/fired, one has to frigging wonder just why it took so long...then again, was no one at the firm given responsibility for reviewing cases before they go to trial, for any of the partners/lawyers??? You've got a billionaire for a client, one would think anything to do with his business, especially his son, would have triggered a review of anything to do with legal work, at the highest levels of the legal firm...to me it speaks of gross incompetence at every level of this legal firm...They were willing to bill hours but not watch over the details... I'm absolving Fred for my earlier thoughts and he's safe from the Darwin awards...however I reserve that judgment for the folks who run the legal firm...where I come from we call that asleep at the frigging wheel....

Looks like Joe pissed someone off by going legit and getting out of the drug trade over a year ago...Could have Joe by going legit caused a decline in 'profitability'???
-
There's a ways to go before they reach this mysterious 'friend'...I'm not sure Lord Irate is going to give up the chase anytime soon, I would be willing to bet that he may have troops or friends at the town/village where this obscure path ends up...
-
While it is a chapter early to say this, my humble thanks to you and @raven1 for bringing this to us!!! Bring on the epilogue!!!
-
It is great to see a new story from you Quokka and am looking very much to reading the rest of it!!
-
It is concerning that there were several folks videoing the scene of the accident, all it would take is for one standing at the right angle and trouble would be sure to follow... Halloween should prove to be interesting to say the least, and it is time to put "Karen, aka the simple serpent, in her place...does she have security cameras???

We are learning more as we get a bit deeper into this story. And for me like others, it brings back memories of my youth. it wasn't as others have noted, an easy time to be gay, the fear of being discovered was palpable and the chances one took to find companionship was fraught with peril. I was so lucky that the older boy who introduced me to the wonders of same sex, was agreeably discrete after he found girls. He knew his brother and I managed to 'meet up' nearly every day, and as we lived in the country, finding places wasn't difficult. Like many others, I am curious to the distance between Phil and his son and hope there might or may be a reconciliation between the two... I hope Mrs. Sullivan's son Stanley, gets to interact with Phil!!!

I mean, what can you say/expect with the following... “What are you in the mood for, sweetheart?” Winston asked as he perused the menu. Micah smirked. “I dunno. I was kind of thinking about a steak.” “Perhaps you should consider the cod. We wouldn’t want anything to clog up your colon, would we?”

That we all should leave a legacy such as Manny....

much to think about and to ponder over, certainly we learn that there isn't a "somewhere over the rainbow' despite our best intentions when we step in to 'enlighten' those we feel a need to do so...then there is the law of unintended or misguided consequences... I have nothing but the utmost respect for Thomas and the realization of where the path in life he was traveling on, was leading him... Then there is the following as it seems old habits of a certain form of superiority are hard to break as alluded to before in a previous comment... Uganda's new anti-LGBTQ bill is tied to American evangelicals (msnbc.com)

Meet the Clients, aka, A Trip to Rosharon
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Meet the Clients, aka, A Trip to Rosharon
Fred has found his niche in life and life is gonna test him to the max with his clients...he's gonna piss off a lot of folks once he starts winning and being a success... -
Interesting, to say the least...important background information was given...

There is a school of thought in the paranormal worlds, that there are points on the surface of the planet that there are intersections where barriers between the occult and the 'normal' world are thin or transparent.. Allowing for an easier 'crossover' between the two different worlds. As to the political world, I'm not sure my back could, at my age, withstand the constant jumping on/off the expedient political crisis's bandwagons of the moment... Ley line - Wikipedia

Well the last bit was a kick in the pants...not sure just how any of this is going to work out...especially considering Ashlee's family....

So much for traveling incognito...they'll need to cover/erase their tracks or create a false trail and I find it surprising that Nathan was the one to suggest breaking cover to meet with the trader...bad move for someone who makes a living as an assassin...
