This and short while ago we've had inklings as to Oscar's mother and their relationship, in a previous chapter he was very derogatory in a comment that referenced her and now the death staredown below...I am curious as to why there isn't a warm relationship between the two.... Christmas Day celebrations with the whole family were spent at Yanchep for a change, and it appeared to be going smoothly, although I was getting the stare down by my mother, which I was not quite sure what it was about, and I made a mental note to ask my grandparents about it, once they were on their way home to Moore. mm

Looking forward to the 3rd book in this series...

If bows are extra, what about wrapping paper??

All the comments above are spot on, could not agree more with them!! Keith needs to remember he owes Maria nothing as she certainly wasn't pure as the driven snow...so to speak...I've worked with and for the Delia types...I generally found those sort to be like a meandering late summer river, so much wider than deep....

Trouble has a way of following our hero's...what sort of adventure will they encounter? It is a shame that Theodrik could not transport them...

Congrats quokka!!!!! It is a remarkable achievement!!!

And just think, with the inordinate amount of distance to cross, just how many difficulties our intrepid hero's will encounter...Just remember...

It looks as if the Shadow cross arrived well ahead of the boys...will they be stationed all over the city???

Wee...what can one expect when everyone won't talk to each other...but at each other...

Oh my!!!! Will they be able to retake the Ulaa-La with a minimum of trouble and make the bastards responsible for the deaths of hundreds of billions sentient species pay for their misdeeds??? It's past time to open a can of...

I keep googling all the waystations and rest stops and it truly is the adventure of a lifetime for this crew!!! Loved this chapter and included a link below!!! What a great way to learn more about your great country...of course watching Outback Opal Hunters isn't necessarily the best place to learn about Australia...My father, prior to being shipped to China during WW2 spent time in Australia and had nothing but great things to say!! Dag nab it, it took some time for me to get through this chapter as I just had to go and seek out works by all the artists mentioned... If I had a favorite painting, it would be Pontormo's fresco titled Vertumnus and Pomona. See the link below...As a young man, strategically placed fig leaves used to be the bane of my existence, oh, the happy hours I could have whiled away with that fresco!!! Vertumnus and Pomona, c.1520 - Jacopo Pontormo - WikiArt.org I think Francis Hayward is smart enough that Vaughn will give him and only offer unvarnished opinions...rumors tend to have a gravity akin to a black hole, seems best to me to stay clear of them...What was it Ben Franklin opined about secrets, "Three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead"!! Simply loved this chapter...and that fresco....

What a great chapter, while things are settling down I suspect a few minor bumps in the road, it will be great fun watching Ollie grow into a fine young man...of course there will be several 'life lessons' to be imparted...such as...

These are challenges that will be overcome with dedication and persistence...it sucks but considering the alternative...

The title of this chapter was "Trouble Ahead" and I thought it might be Jamison, if not him...what kind of trouble awaits our travelers...

Or 'Eye of the Newt"....tho we wouldn't miss it or him either on this planet....

Here's hoping they have better luck next time... Good point @drpaladinabout using horses and the transitioning might spook them...that also rules out elephants if they had to transition into a mouse again...😁

Well now, there is a weather forecast for some serious angst here....and missed chances With friends like Danny.... What's sticking to Josh's wings...or is it a bee in his bonnet?? Who's thongs...humm??

Truly an original and a unique read, this is simply a marvelous, twisted, demented, offering from astone. How can anyone go wrong with the following... Sam gasped as the man’s body morphed. Skin turned to metal, and his stature became thinner. His face melted away; eyes and lips blending into the new form. The transformation passed quickly. The man’s former hands entered a small hole in the ceiling, and his feet fit into the same slot on the floor. “Holy shit,” his sister mumbled. “That’s… He’s a full-blooded shapeshifter, and he’s the fuckin’ stripper pole. I was not expecting that.”

Hoping you check over your shoulder every now and then, it is a long wait till freaking Saturday....

FotherMuckingmonkeyspankingpoodlediddlers.....One has to wonder if the family of the ignominious, supposedly not quite so f'ing wise, Reverend Beck all joyfully conduct incestuous born-again meetings.... I have to pull out the latest @weinerdog psychotic, psychic, prodigiously powerful tinfoil hat of future forecasting, with a not so salient observation giving the nature of the instructions Billy gave to Charlie, and his comment/reaction as to the findings Charlie found... Judge Crustypants was responsible for the court order into Steve's background. “I'm having Charlie review the court orders to see who filed for the background requests. Usually, a lawyer will do background checks on clients and witnesses, and two of those are employment and relationships. I wouldn't put it passed Clarke to have someone one his team to do a background check on Steve, especially since Steve was going to be supervising the visits.” One other prediction whilst wearing said tinfoil hat, I'd bet my left testicle, oops let's not get carried away here like Denis Leary, I'd bet a growler of IPA Judge Crustypants might/may/possibly/hopefully related to Beck clan.... The end of the video is the best part...enjoy!!!

Nathan is a putz as the following attests too....he's become a tremendous liability... “As it healed, did you ever feel pain in your arm or around your chest?” it asked Nathan. “No,” he lied, swallowing a lump in his throat. “Very good. Then you were able to fight the toxin.” A visit to the witch may be in order, would it be possible for 'Theodoric' to bring them there??? I'm not fully buying into Cormac's story...

Another wonderful story and thanks for sharing!!

Truly a delightful chapter to say the least!! I became curious about Tadcaster and found the following... Tadcaster - Wikipedia

To err is human, to forgive is divine...forgiveness is the tool that opens many self-enforced doors...
