TV Commercials Might be the Reason I'm Alone
drsawzall commented on Jason Rimbaud's story chapter in TV Commercials Might be the Reason I'm Alone
Never ever mess with the power of fate flips! -
You truly got me with the following… You have a man that not only puts up with all your crazy insecurities, your family baggage, and still loves you so much there are times I get physically ill being in the same room with

I'll Never Wear Boxers Again
drsawzall commented on Jason Rimbaud's story chapter in I'll Never Wear Boxers Again
Poignant and bittersweet, and wonderfully told… Brought back memories of intense relationships some who are no longer with us.. -
Antonio deserves a fate much worse than burning….

This year the weather was cold and windy, as a result my trick or treat numbers was down, from a high of over 300 last year to just about 200. My house is easy walking distance from the town common, where a trunk or treat takes place! The issue is what to do with the leftover, unopened bags of candy. Hopefully it can stay in the freezer for a year rather then my waist!!

Can't disagree with any of the comments above, but only to note that Mom needs to be a bit more present... Other than that, all I got is...

Once again, you've captured the essence of what it was like to be demobbed, the return to civilization and to civilian life. One of the greatest crimes of our government was the gutting of the GI Bill for veterans down the road. They ask, and young men and women gladly sign up, giving their lives to Uncle Sam, some of those making the greatest sacrifice. The Veterans Administration is a shadow of what it once was, with the constant pressure of yearly diminishing budgets, forced to do more with less. This was/is done by a cabal of politicos, of a certain stripe, who wish to privatize the VA and turn it into a profit center. Done on the backs of our service members who need our care and concern. Lest we ever forget..... "To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan" (Abraham Lincoln):

And don't forget Kate and her little bombshell... “I like spending time with you too,” I said gently. “You’re like a little sister to me, honestly. A friend and a sister all in one. I just wish my mom could understand things a little more clearly.” “I get it. It’s alright, really. I’m not upset,” she said. “But… sometimes, special feelings do grow from friendship, don’t you think?” That made me pause again. “I’m just saying,” she laughed, lightly tapping my hand. “Don’t read too much into it.”

In it for the long haul
drsawzall commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in In it for the long haul
I have to go with sad with this comment by the author, as I do when all his stories come to an end. We will miss these folks and hope to be able to revisit some time in the future... -
I wish I knew a bit more about Vampire/Shifter lore, but to me, the color of Jullian's eyes is a clue... There, a little way down a narrow side street, between the trees at the side of the road, stands Julian. He looks the same as always. Small and slender, his brown chin-length curls tousled by the wind. Except he's wearing dirty jeans and a torn leather jacket, and his eyes... are not chocolate brown, but shine in an eerie amber gold tone. Looking forward to the next chapter, learning a bit more about this world...

Interlude: Speaking To Father's
drsawzall commented on Jason Rimbaud's story chapter in Interlude: Speaking To Father's
Oh, Dylan, the path you are choosing is fraught with life-changing choices, and bleeding from the back end isn't the smartest thing you've ever done. I have to wonder what is going through your head that is making you hate yourself so....It is past time for an intervention, the next night like this, and most likely, hospitalization will be where you find your bed...Here's hoping you can ask for help... Tyler and Brandon are like a pair of puppies overdosing on sugar... “She believes, as I do, that it is time for you to start helping out with the laundry,” His father said as he held up his hand. He added, “Not all the laundry mind you. But starting tomorrow, you’ll be responsible for cleaning your bed linen and any other blankets you might use when Brandon stays over.” When I was 13, I asked my mother why I didn't have any clean clothes. She introduced me to Mr and Mrs Washing Machine and Dryer, along with their ner-do-well child, Rebel, the clothesline... -
Thanks for this chapter; it is obvious to me that Granger is running low on his stock of sea spray and the smoke from gunpowder. And...lest we forget, handsome and willing foreign adversaries... Davinia...grrrr...if she wasn't necessary for parts of this story, I'd like to see an ignoble ending for her... Daventry, once again, the smaller of his two heads is leading the way... Do I suspect that the relationship with Carmella might be floundering and running its course?

Well...most of what I wanted to say was in all of the previous comments, but I think a corner has been turned... When he smiled before nodding his head and opening the door I wanted to believe that I could get out of my own way, at least long enough to give starting over in a small town a chance. Maybe I’ll be the first one to ever succeed at it. Davin, take Joel camping and frigging soon!!! Birthday party...Cody...best medicine!!! Davin, take the horses when you go camping!!! Think of the fun when you're rubbing liniment, ooops...massage oil...ooops...giving a friendly backrub to Joel...
