Summer and Small Beginnings
drsawzall commented on Tony S.'s story chapter in Summer and Small Beginnings
I’m loving this story and the intensity of their burgeoning friendship…I may be wrong but, I sense a possible slight, thawing of Kitt’s father… Kitt hesitated—but only for a second. His father had watched his race quietly, told him Good job with a rare gentle smile, and when Kitt asked if he could stay at Matt’s, he simply nodded. “Be respectful,” his father said. “Call if you need anything.” -
Our heroes have found shelter from the storm, while our traitorous knight walks a precipitous path in his carnal desires.

And now for something completely different …

Too late…🤔 We broke apart panting, foreheads pressed together. "Sauna first," he murmured. "Get you all hot and sweaty." -

Again they need to take a moment to plan accordingly. Not only do they not know where, but what they will be up against. And as @drpaladinnoted, the only way to stop these folks is regime change.

One of your best chapters yet LB. Informative and left much to ponder. I like that they are taking it slow, not sure I would have had the patience.... I thought Miguel's defense of his country was spot on and passionate. The only way the scourge of drugs will end is if the demand stops. Sadly, I don't see that happening anytime soon. Drugs on our streets have become so pervasive that it reminds me of the way booze was handled during prohibition in the 1920-30's. Those who controlled the levers of power were bought with dirty money, and I remain convinced that it is so today. Less than two years ago, a student was busted in our local high school for selling $5 baggies of heroin. For many in this country, drugs are an escape from the issues of the day, or at home, or at work. Sorry for the rant from the top of my soapbox!

If Quinn can 'mind' speak with Iris, is it possible, with some effort and studying, that he might be able to sense the faint twin bond? Create a path and follow it? And get over yourselves and talk!!!!

Chapter Five - From Bad to Worse.
drsawzall commented on William King's story chapter in Chapter Five - From Bad to Worse.
Ain't that the truth... People think everything is about themselves when it isn't at all. -
I get the sense that family life for Kitt is all about expectations rather than familial love. But to Kitt—raised in a neatly quiet house where voices softened after dinner and footsteps were measured—this place felt like stepping into a river without knowing how deep the water went. He stood by the wall, hoping to blend into the background, when a familiar voice cut clean through the noise. The poor boy is starved for attention, recognition, and the milk of human kindness, and that life can be messy and full of fun! Matt’s house was everything his wasn’t—lived-in, loud, cluttered with life rather than rules. Soccer cleats by the door. A stack of mail on the counter. Music from his sister’s room vibrating faintly through the floor. His mom hugged first and asked questions later. His dad greeted everyone loudly. His sister complained about homework with the confidence of someone who knew she’d be heard. Kitt wasn’t sure how to exist in a place like this, but he liked being there.

Boy, did the following sentence hook me hard, simply a beautiful piece of descriptive writing!! And Kitt, standing alone in his new room, watching Matt disappear back home, didn’t know yet that the boy across the street—the one who walked like sunlight and talked like it was easy to breathe—would become the safest part of his entire world.

Glad they finished the beer!!!! My goodness, that was hot...yowzer!!! -
Together, the two of them have managed to create something, a physical presence of some sort. Is it sentient? And yes, the best defense is a capable offense, pinning your foes back... I think before they bring the battle to Orinovo, they had best do some serious research into the az-ari. How many types are there? How are "talents" taken from fellow az-ari? Frankly, they need to know everything possible about them before considering bringing the war to Orinovo...

Valentine’s Vows and Vanishing Acts
drsawzall commented on BendtedWreath's story chapter in Valentine’s Vows and Vanishing Acts
Thanks for this, I enjoyed it very much. You are leaving your readers with a sense of foreboding, knowing there is one more story to follow.... Neither wolf noticed the faint scent of gun oil and silver, the rain washing it away, or the glint of binoculars from a distant ridge, gone in a heartbeat. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& By the time everything was settled, the storm had passed, leaving the woods washed clean and glistening. Sunlight broke through the clouds. A vehicle engine started somewhere in the distance, the sound barely audible over the laughter beginning to fill the clearing. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& The sound carried far on the clear night air, echoing across miles of forest into the listening darkness beyond, reaching a concealed spy. -
Chapter 2: Second Glance

LA seems not to be so appealing -
King John will not sit still for long, as we see by his comment about instructions/guidance from Rome. Runnymead, as much as the Magna Carta, is seen by many to be a sacred place. There are memorials from many democratic nations attesting to its importance as well. It is believed that the Magna Carta was signed under the boughs of the Ankerwycke Yew, a tree over fourteen-hundred-years-old. Another fabulous chapter, Albert! Runnymede - Wikipedia
