  1. Mark, I can only hope I'm part of the fun guys ... JJ was this kind of happy go lucky kid before when much younger. But I think he was also a neglected child. Will reacted very more extreme when he felt neglected but JJ is more insecure and... clumsy in lots of situations. And after he became succesfull in skating... that fragile cocoon formed by beeing succesfull but also by beeing abused... 9-11 the loss of his role model mom and dad, Alex turning him down when he most needed him... makes him who he is now. He acts wrong because he is insecure and knows he is fragile.
  2. Just finished reading Sandy. Loved the story setting. I grew up with a dog as well. No not my dog. But the family dog. We were both born the same year and he was a big German Shepard called Timmie. LOL, yes like the boy in this story. So I grew up with this big dog around and when I started walking there was always this big gentle animal sniffing me and pushing me with his nose.... LOL. And yes I know from growing up... dogs they do keep sniffing boys pants... LOL. Don't know if they do that with girls as well. The end of the story... I guess we all love parents turning around into acceptance. But not all parents can accept or can accommodate a gay child. And even if they say they're okay... like my mom... the prejudice in her way of thinking still is there even after more than 40 years.

  4. Lisa, thanks for bringing these stories here. And of cause thanks to the people who reviewed these stories. I have a holiday on some warm Spanish Island soon so... besides watching the guys on the beach I have some nice stories to read as well.
  5. Dessert dropping was one of the 1st stories here I read and... read again... I think it s a wonderfull writen story. Guess we all miss new stories from him... Sandy I just started reading.
  6. Thanks for bringing the older Anthologies back here. I usually reed the longer stories here, but I think I have to search also for 'gems' in the 1 chapter stories !
  7. Like you, just read C.James story. For me because of Northie's comment here. Agree with both of you. Well written how in too many parts of this world politics/politicians work. Especially if you can be reelecte again and again.

    Requiem

Wow. Loved it ! Short but strong and probably very true for politicians who can get reelected again and again. In my country this reelection works not completely the same... as we have many parties and no districts. But I guess the moral issue and the ethics probably are the same.
  9. Do keep on reading ! It's certainly worth it... naming it a classic here... hmm yes in my POV.
  10. Certainly a worth reading story ! Hmmm yes in my humble POV.
  11. Read all of Don H stories before I ... hmmm... became a member here !!! And he was one of the writers ... as well as Dom L. and Mark A. that made me come back here again and again. Loved all of the 'Berman' stories and the way Don let the characters grow from their different backgrounds. Unfortunately, I think, he has not posted stories here since some years... Would love to find new stories from him here.
  12. JJ used to be that happy kid when younger. Mark never used him as a main character. So we do not know him as we do Will or Brad. JJ has been in many stories/chapters as a side character and... that sometimes happens in families as well. Hmmm... maybe a bit like a neglected child. And in my opinion Mark wrote his character as a bit of a loner. An 'einzelgänger'. And kids like him make mistakes big time... because they lack, and I'm not sure I say that right, that socialising behaviour and feeling. The character of JJ is still a boy growing up and... he is not (yet) very social for... I think he is basicly feeling unsecure. I think that is also what is part of being an 'Einzelgänger'. I do not think JJ is really a bad or stupid guy ... but he is 'clumsy' being social. Maybe lacks empathy. JJ is in my POV still a kid growing up. And growing up is not for every kid the same. JJ hmmm ... 'social' he is much younger. So let's not judge him as an adult. He still is a kid growing up (with some bad experiences ...) and he probably does not (yet) understand the socialising stuff the way most of us do. And probably that makes him act 'clumsy' ... The way Will and Darius acted certainly must have had a big impact. But for JJ probably more like... 'OMG what did I do wrong ?'. JJ is probably not even aware he is socially 'clumsy'. Mark I look forward how you will handle JJ in the next chapters/stories. Andy G.
  13. Dom's stories also catched my hearth. For me it was Desert Dropping... that I read 1st. And reading all of his stories was really a pleasure.
  14. Mark, thanks for your new chapters ! You suprised me when I came back from my holidays. Not only chapters in Black Widow but also chapters in the Bridgemont series. Thanks. Love it that you are back here with new chapters ! Andy G

    Chapter 3

Mark, thanks for this new book. Coming back from a 3 weeks holiday (yes... in Europe that is hmmm... quite normal...LOL). I loved finding a new book here and besides the introduction 3 chapters ! Thanks. Mark, I love it that you are back here and posting new chapters regularly again. Ahh and the new story... I would have guessed it would have been a much more difficult position for Granger with the Channel Fleet. Not being in command... Just as an assistant to Lord St. Vincent... But his temporal new position as Captain of a ship of the line... freed him I guess. Ahh and he has some friends who looked after him with supplies... LOL. They must have had good memories dining at Granger's ships in the past to do that ! LOL. Mark I love the Bridgemont series as it is in and historical setting and you and your team make it fit in in that history. It feels so good finding you back here and writing regularly again. Love, hugs kisses and have fun writing. Andy G
  16. Certainly look forward to the story. The way I remember end of last story, hmm you placed Granger in a... new, probably very difficult position with the fleet. Will love to see how you manage that... hmm Granger to manage that. LOL. Have fun writing, I love reading the bridgemont series.
  17. Mark, I really missed you here ! Good to hear you are doing great, health wise. Health is one of the basic things I think that matters most ! But also health of your partner, kids, loved ones... Been there. On this site... You are one of my loved ones ! LOL. No not because I need a new chapter fix. I'm not a junk. LOL. Always loved to find new stories here from you and you were posting lots of them in a good flow. I was always amazed how much really good stuff you could write in just a few days ! So good you may/will be back with new stories soon. These last months I have been reading some of your older stories (Millennium, Poor Man's son and Paternaty) for the 2nd time and they were like as... bright and new as when I 1st read them. Loved/Liked them again ! The storyline yes I knew but I had so much fun reading again lots of the older chapters, the dialogues and the banter in them. Also I think it was good reading because there also was stuff in there that I think will come back in the next 'Black Widow' series.LOL. Mark, have fun writing. Good to hear you are back and I really look forward to your next stories/chapters.
  18. Only after reading most of the 1st chapter the story came back to my mind. I read it some time, probably a long time ago... and liked it. I liked it as I thought it was a very realistic family situation and also the way the story develloped from there. thanks for posting it again here.

    Chapter 13

Loved the interaction between Cody and Matt. The humor and the banter but also the words of love and feeling in love. Well done. But also like how you write about Cody and ... his feelings as it seems he does not to dare to give into falling in love when in fact he already is.
  22. Northern Dutch Guy

    Chapter 8

Always love it when there are some 'nasty' charcacters in a story near by the main character. So much fun in the dialogues and see/read the way you let your main characters handle the situations.
  23. Northern Dutch Guy

    Chapter 6

Really funny chapter. Brought sometimes a big smile on my face and ... I had to explain some to my boyfriend... LOL
  24. Northern Dutch Guy

    Chapter 4
