  1. Sorry Texy but Page isn't wrong. Buddy Oliver has valid kitchen skills. The kid's good. I hereby give notice that me and mine are going to ignore your sanctions and continue to support the folks in Traverse City.

    Stay Humble

Jay grew up in a close loving family, they are a huge part of what has made him the man he is. He has never felt the need to create a family because the one he was born with has never failed him. He likely doesn't recognize Loren's team as anything more than very close friends. The same way he views Seamus and the guys who despite being defacto brothers are not replacements for the ones he has. For him it's incomprehensible to imagine life without his family, the void would be enormous. I think when Jay learned what Loren's parents did to him it reinforced how lucky he is and he resolved to share his family's unconditional love not because Loren is broken but because he deserves it. In his own way Jay is trying to give Loren the most precious thing he has outside himself. However, Loren takes offense because he hears in Jay's clumsily stated offer proof that Jay views him as "broken". To me this suggests that there remains a part of Loren that is damaged. A part that despite all he has accomplished believes he is unlovable. I think it would be good for him to have more people who love him simply for himself not because it's something he's earned. Neither Jay nor Loren are wrong, they're both behaving appropriately based on their disparate childhoods. I'm trusting our author to resolve things satisfactorily. Afterall, angry readers with pitchforks and torches are troublesome.
  3. Not me, nope ...

  6. Hi Page. She makes a really good version too.
  7. People die in his books ...
  8. I used left over Easter ham, Swiss and cheddar cheese in ciabatta rolls to make hot sandwiches. Served those with macaroni salad or hot German potato salad plus mixed greens salad. Trying to use up the leftovers the neighbor shared with us.
  9. Maltese falcon.
  10. HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE
  11. Why is he giving me a "you've been bad" look?
  12. Hope today is better for you.
  13. G'day y'all. It's roughly 20°f colder this morning than this time yesterday, 47/8°. The plus, it's also drier. Benefit (?) of cold air sent to us from the folks in Canada.
  14. Eggscellent!
  15. We're doing okay though the weather is making her knees and my head ache. The day never really brightened nor got above 64/18°. My youngest step-sister sent a picture of the snow at her home in PA. The ground and trees were white.
  16. G'day y'all. It's a cool very wet day here. There is a low pressure system moving up along the east coast. It's forecast to combine with unseasonably cold air to become a nor'easter and bring snow to the higher elevations back home. The growing season has begun there, frost could cause damage. Albert did you get snow?
  17. Thanks. I hope you felt well enough to take some joy from the day.
  18. Thank you Albert. I hope you and Steve enjoyed a wonderful day.
  19. Thanks. I hope you had a great day.
  20. When we were little my maternal grandmother would make us an Easter bunny cake. It was a coconut cake cut and shaped like a rabbit.
  21. I dry saute mushrooms before adding them to most things. Actually, my preference for frittata is to combine any and all veggies and roast them in a cast iron skillet adding eggs and cheese and bake.
  22. HAPPY EASTER Y'ALL!

    Week 2

Twelve and thirteen make feel warm inside. The stampeding horses of fourteen resemble the tempest of migraine building in my head. Nicely done Adi.
