  1. The NWS just posted an air quality warning for my area tomorrow.
  2. I was due last year but put it off because of the pandemic. When I made the initial appointment for tomorrow things were better. This morning my urologist told me that hospitalization at the largest of our three local hospitals is skyrocketing. Especially among the 20-60 age group and the majority of those are unvaccinated.
  3. Arrgh, I just took the first of the prep meds for a colonoscopy I'm having tomorrow morning. I think it's gonna be a long 18 hours 'cause I wasn't allowed lunch and I'm hungry ... and, surprise, my head aches. The good news is my ultrasound showed some improvement in the condition of my bladder and my kidneys don't appear any worse than they were two years ago. The urologist was content and said unless I develop a problem he doesn't need to see for another two years.
  4. Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones died this morning in a London hospital. He was 80.
  5. Should have used the chair not the table ...
  6. I didn't say I would hate it, only, that it wasn't something I would choose to eat. I'm not overly fond of banana though I do like an occasional bit of banana bread. Also, bananas are a food that can trigger migraine for some folks and are on the "not frequently" list for me because of my kidney issues. I am glad you can enjoy it.
  7. Yeah, best wishes from me too.
  8. I hope it turns out well for you. It's not something I would choose to eat but unlike some folks, no, I'm not lookin' at you @Valkyrie or @Page Scrawler, I'm not gonna make a yuck face.
  9. Tom T Hall who wrote Harper Valley PTA has also passed.
  10. One of Gary's kids brought some of the grandkids for a visit ...
  11. Glad your doing better. Mine eased some but then returned stronger a couple hours ago. I had a massage earlier and am now resting with the pup.
  12. I had a mini meatloaf, steamed parsley potatoes and fresh steamed yellow wax beans from garden.
  13. This was taken just prior to the Happy Hour/Thursday Trivia Night rush.
  14. The rain finally arrived last evening and continued until after midnight with some heavy downpours. Fortunately no tornado or heavy wind damage but there was flooding in some areas. At one nearby park the water level in the creek rose nearly 15 foot from when we walked there yesterday. A portion of the park and the nearby road were flooded. Today is a mix of clouds and sun and humid.

I wouldn't say they were distracting, more just a case of different rythm. I think you should continue the experiment
  16. Thanks for the hugs. So far the heavy rain hasn't materialized though we remain under severe storm, tornado and flash flood watches.
  17. I'm having fried potatoes scrambled with eggs and crumbled bacon. Going for comfort foods this morning. Blessed be y'all.
  18. I used ground chicken breast to make bbq then added homemade coleslaw to make wraps plus I steamed two ears of fresh corn on the cob. Dessert was some of the fresh peach cobbler I made on Sat.
  19. It's been a wet showery morning here. Heavier rain with the potential for flash floods are forecast for later today as TS Fred passes. My head aches ...
  20. Hi Page ... Yeah, I know it isn't a pup but the kid is sorta cute ...

    Chapter 40

You've got a wolf falling in love and mating a cernunnos and vice versa and you say there is no magic. Not to mention the whole shifter trope, that in itself is magic.

I forgot to ask is this your own or a style you encountered elsewhere.

They work. While the image doesn't quite fit the words I visualize these as a dance. Oddly, when I read them aloud their flow was more stilted, like someone dancing an unknown step but when read silently the dancer was much more confident and moved fluidly. If I had first read them aloud I would say it was my own familiarity. However, as is my usual practice, I read them silently at first and then aloud, then because of my odd sense again silently. The image held though I am at a loss as to why. Nonetheless, I think your experiment a success.
  24. Thistle doesn't have the goggles but he does have a yellow slicker raincoat.
  25. I wish I could divert TS Fred in your direction Albert. The forecast is for gully washer rains here from late tonight into sometime tomorrow evening.
