  1. It's currently 68/20° and overcast here. I am being lazy. First watched Penn State in the Cotton Bowl now just relaxing.
  2. Thanks to your review this is something to add to my reading list.
  3. You mean it's slightly browned or is it burnt?
  4. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery ...
  5. Mornin' Page. You're either up early or late.
  6. Mum, Thistle and I spent the day in Charleston. Mum and I enjoy the Holy City but Thistle absolutely adores it. When we cross the Cooper river on the Ravenel bridge he gets so excited because he knows where we are and where we're going. Oh, he also knows that T, R, E, A,T spells treat so when a clerk in one of the stores spelled it instead of saying treat he sat down and waited for one. It was funny. I mean really how do you say "Uhm, sorry but he knows what that spells" and keep a straight face. It was a beautiful day, sunny and 70/21°. We went to do some late Christmas shopping for my son before we head north on Monday. We had $100 worth of "Flipside Awards" at Tommy Bahama's that we'd earned on our last trip the day after American Thanksgiving. They expire Dec 31st and we didn't want to lose the $100 value. We bought him a really nice candy-striped linen shirt and a pine green 3/4 zip pullover to go with it.
  7. Just like his uncle.

  10. That's wonderful news.
  11. Hope your dreams were happy. We skipped making dinner too. We had a nice breakfast of asparagus and crabmeat frittata with pumpernickel bagel. In the afternoon we joined friends and neighbors at a nearby Bavarian gasthaus for lunch of schnitzel, spaetzle and red cabbage.
  12. Thistle says thanks for the scratches. Did Sneakers get any special Christmas treats?
  13. Merry Christmas.

  21. These dance on feet both quick and slow, then tiptoe as quiet as mice before swirling away in blissful steps. I marvel sir at your skill. Thank you for this gift you share. May have a Joyous and Merry Christmas and a Blessed and Happy New Year.
  22. Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year.
  23. So I found a recipe for Galatine of turkey. A turkey, typically a hen, was deboned then stuffed with a mixture of forcemeat (sausage), chopped apple, butter or suet, chopped pistachios and eggs, seasoned with ground coriander and allspice. The bird was stitched closed, wrapped in brownpaper then muslin before boiling in water with carrot and celery for 1.5 to 2 hours. Then served cold.
  24. Boiled turkey, hmmm, I wasn't aware they prepared the bird that way. I need to do a bit of research on the how to's. Thanks for sharing this story with us.
