    The Tale

Usurping the persona of a Scots Laird from Peebleshire/Selkirk Forrest for my work at a renaissance faire I've done some research on the time and place. There were three northern marches on the Scots/Anglo border. The East, Middle and West. Each country had a Warden for each march. They would meet periodically to bring the King's justice to those outlaws guilty of cross border crimes. The term March is used to describe the area along borders. The best known is the Anglo-Welsh March but they existed on the European continent as well. Originally the title Marquess/Marquis referred to a noble responsible for maintaining a specific area along a border.
  3. G'day y'all. My cousin's son was married last evening so that's where mum and I were. The service was outdoors on a lawn by a nearby river. It was nice.
  4. That's our WQ.
  5. Nice catch ... oh, and pretty good string of fish too.

    GMA XXVII

None of us reading that very first chapter could have imagined where we would be 4.5 years later. The laughter, tears, anger, frustration, joy and heartbreak, the loses and gains, the ordinary and extraordinary. Friends and loved ones came and went. CJ arrived a frightened boy and grew to become master of his universe. Would I wish for more of the story? Oh hell yes! Do I understand it's time to step back and let these wonderful folk live their lives without us peeking in the windows? Yes. I also think when you've spun the ether as you have to create a group of people so believeable, they continue to exist beyond what you've written. You could in a future time, a year or two, write a brief glimpse into this place, the life of these people, it would be as if visiting friends after being parted from one another. I would congratulate you on both yours and CJ's success. You done good Mr. Hazday. Oh, and ya made me cry.

    The Tale

I know both your sources for information concerning the reivers. I have an interest in that historical period along the Scottish Marches. This had the hallmarks of an episode of the Twight Zone. Well done.
  8. It's good, it's very good. Do you think you might someday share more of their life? Ain't it amazing? You toss the little birds a bit of something nice and immediately they want more. Greedy buggers.

    Chapter 1 Hooked

This is classic Headstall romance ... with a dash of magic. Some of your best work. Thank you for sharing it with us.
  10. I've just finished Tim's off to read yours.
  11. Fair to middlin' thank you.
  12. Hmmm, I seem to recall a very special fire extinguisher 😃
  13. Interesting start. It sounds like Mrs H may have an idea Eddie is gay. Her volunteer work and her reaction to finding the two boys in bed together suggests so.
  14. G'day y'all. It's chilly and wet today. Thistle has his annual check-up with the vet this morning, there will be shots ... and ... Mum has her HS class reunion this afternoon, no shots there.
  15. By the time you saw this @Curti had already eaten the waffles.
  16. That sounds about right. You do understand that it's intended to be eaten by the slice. Oh, and it's not like pizza, you get just one slice per meal.
  17. Hmmm, is my hospital an anomaly? The food I was served for both my stays was pretty good and I was on a low sodium diet.
  18. I think it must be something they include in furnished apartments in the Village.
  19. Boyfriend ... there's a boyfriend in your apartment?
  20. It was your birthday? Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY VAL! You got the beef.
  21. Or age you prematurely ...
  22. What?!? You float along about six feet above the ground, doesn't that make doorways kinda dangerous?
  23. Guess this falls under the heading ... no pain, no gain ... good thing is you know it will get better.
  24. Is the physio worse than the pain when you used the arm before?
  25. I'm a guy and I haven't done any stupid stuff ... today.
