So, be careful what you write. Even the "imaginary monsters" might just turn on you if you make them out wrong. Loved him desperately writing to correct his wrong.
-
Wow, Bill. I mean you want a night out and a little fun. Instead, you get a werewolf stalker and end up dead. Nicely crafted tale, but i think I'd stay home.

Twisted tale. So he found a job that could use his degree snd made his father happy, only to nearly become the figure in his boss's collection. Scary little tale.

After the Past - a vignette
comicfan commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in After the Past - a vignette
Aww. It is nice checking in again. Sweet scene and good use of the prompt. -
October is flying by and we are nearly at the end. So just Halloween, Samhain, and then the day of the dead or All Hallows Day left. Maybe these prompts will help with the mood and get you writing? Prompt 794 - Creative Tag - Dia de Muertos Working late on Halloween was not what you had planned on doing, but your boss had you and your department manager, Joseph Torres, stay to finish up. Joseph wanted to get home so he could help his wife prepare for a trip to the cemetery. He explained how his family celebrated Dia de Muertos and would be visiting the graves of his loved ones, leaving candy skulls and sharing memories of those they had lost. Having missed the fun of Halloween, you decided that you would visit the graves of the ones you had loved most. However, you never expected to see or experience what you did. What happened? Prompt 795 - Creative Tag - List of words Use the following words in a story - a bat, a full moon, a dirty hat, a squeaky step, and a police car. Does either appeal to you? If you write one link it in the prompt forum! Until next time read, write, comment, and like. Stay well.

Well, we are half way through the month and we have made it to another Friday. Are you ready for Halloween? Are you ready for candy and scary movies? Are you set to enjoy the creepy and the outlandish? Hopefully, this week's prompts might inspire you to write. Prompt 792 - Creative Tag - First Line "Damn, I can never get blood out of a silk shirt!" Prompt 793 - Creative Tag - The Great Pumpkin You'd heard the rumor in school when you were a kid. The farm at the edge of town always grew pumpkins for Halloween and Thanksgiving. At the farm, it was said if you were a good person the Great Pumpkin showed up and rewarded you. However, if you were bad then the Pumpkin King showed up and punished you. You never believed it and couldn't be bothered to go see if either rumor was true. Now home to visit your parents, your car dies. As you begin to walk you pass the pumpkin patch. You hear a loud crackling noise and turn to see something rising from the pumpkin patch. Is it the Great Pumpkin, the Pumpkin King, or something else? Remember any prompt short story should be part of a collection. If you link it to prompt page it might be featured here next week. Until next time remember to read, write, like, and review. Stay safe everyone.

Hello and welcome to another attempt to get you to write and share your prompt stories. Prompts are usually short tales. However, over the years a prompt has inspired an author and multi chapter stories or novels have happened. They have been used as the start of chapters and as a way to reintroduce old characters into new settings. In plain English, prompts are there to inspire you to think or write in new ways. Don't be afraid to try one. Here are two new prompts to get you writing. Prompt 790 - Creative Tag - List of words Use the following words in a story - a pumpkin, an apple orchard, a bottle of wine, a picnic basket, and a horse. Prompt 791 - Creative Tag - The Curse You pissed of the old lady when she asked you to help load her overloaded grocery cart into her car. Her eyes narrowed as you politely refused due to the fact you were already late for work. You realize that stopping to pick up boxes of tea and coffee would have been much easier last night when you had more time. As you turned to go to your car you crashed into a very handsome young man, knocking him to the floor. Feeling clumsy you help him up as the old lady screams at you. "Don't help me, knock my grandson down. You're a foul, lazy, and stupid young man. I curse you!" There is a crash of lightning and your whole world changes. Were you really cursed or what happened? So hopefully we will have some prompt stories to share next week. Until then, remember to read, write, review, and like. Be safe.

Fall came in like a storm, summer shorts and tee shirts temps one day and boom autumn jackets and long pants the next. Leaves changing and cooler weather to bake in is finally upon those of us in the northern hemisphere. While dreaming of new things perhaps I can tempt you to write with one of the new prompts? Prompt 788 - Creative Tag - First Line "Oh, damn, you weren't supposed to hear about that!" Prompt 789 - Creative Tag - Lost Love When you were just starting your teens you fell in love with the boy next door. However, barely after admitting it to yourself, he is kidnapped from his home and was never found. This event changed how you and everyone else in your town grew up and interacted with each other. On the eve of your thirtieth birthday a young teenager accidently runs into you and knocks you over. He stays to help you and when you see his face you freeze. Before you is your lost love, only he looks barely fourteen and you are turning thirty. What is the truth and is this your lost love back from the missing? Still no takers on the prompts from the last two weeks. Maybe one of the new ones will appeal and get an author to pen a new tale. Until next time. Remember to read, write, comment, and like. Be safe.

Anthology Flashback - Fall 2014 - Scars 1 of 4
comicfan commented on Myr's blog entry in Gay Authors News
This was one of the darker anthologies. I know my own entry was dark and painful. No author turned away from the topic. In fact, most crafted incredible tales that force you to stop and examine those around you. An under appreciated group of work, well worth a read. -
writing game Halloween Hunt Short Story Game
comicfan replied to Cia's topic in Forum Games and Humor
Hmm. Vengeful spirit. Just a liitle side project. I usually try to do a Halloween story every year. The joy of having a 1 as my comment counts last number. -
I miss Robert. Beautiful tribute.

First off my apology. I posted the blog and then forgot to post the prompts in the forum. D'oh! I went to look for those that might have done them and felt foolish. I promise they are up now and anyone who posts them, I will include with next week's prompts. Anyway, time for some new prompts. Prompt 786 - Creative Tag - First Line You watched as the water rushed into the cave as you tugged helplessly at the shackle on your arm; realizing high tide was starting to fill the space, dooming you to drown. Prompt 787 - Creative Tag - Super Power Your parents are the two best known superheroes in the world. There is nothing tat they can't do. As their youngest child, hopes are high that you will follow with amazing powers of your own. Unfortunately, your super power kicks in the first time you kiss and your power is like no other and your parents don't know what to do. What is your super power? Hopefully, something will click and people will take a shot. If you do remember to link your story to the prompt page. 'til next time. Remember to read, write, comment, and like. Stay safe.

Well I'm off to recover from eye surgery, but I still have prompts for all of you. Let's see if any of these tempt you into writing. Prompt 784 - Creative Tag - Neko You were busy tracking the crime ring that was trafficking in exotic animals. Finally having enough evidence, you and your team swarm in to arrest the crooks and save the animals. You never expected to find a beaten and half starved person in a cage. It isn't until you finally pull the semi-conscious person out you spot the tail and ears. These criminals had a Neko in their possession. While the rest of the animals are taken to local vets or zoos, a private doctor checks out the Neko. Because he isn't classified as a human or an animal, your superior simply puts you in charge of him. What happens? Prompt 785 - Creative Tag - List of Words Use the following words in a story - a muddy foot print, an old castle, a blue shirt, a library book, and a foul odor. Well, there were no takers last week. Maybe one of these will appeal to a writer. Until next time. Remember to read, write, comment, and like. Stay safe and well.

Welcome to another Friday. Is it me or are the weeks flying by? Anyway time for some new temptations. Prompt 782 - Creative First Line I'm done forgiving you, so get out! Prompt 783 - Creative Dance You were invited to a friend's party. The last thing you expected was to be swept off your feet and be the center of attention with an incredible partner dancing all night. Who was it and what happened after your dance? So that is the prompts for the week. Remember if you write one to add it to the prompt page. Until next time read, write, comment and like.

Beautifully done. You tied up the important threads, ending the conspiracy and showing off the bonds. You left a few holes allowing you to pick up threads if you decide to return. I've learned to never say never and I'm sure you know this as well. Thank you for a wonderfully rich story.

Another week has come and gone, yet I'm stuck here with a rainy Friday. Rainy days and Fridays usually mean I've got prompts for you. Onwards, brave souls. Prompt 780 - Creative Tag - Enemy Mine The war between worlds has left both sides devastated. Chemicals released on by the warriors from both planets have caused major changes on the people, plants, and animals. With a little less than a fifth of both populations surviving, the remaining leaders attempt to make peace. Unfortunately, neither side realized that the chemicals released would alter the chemical make up to the point that everyone was now attracted to only their former enemies, and usually just one being at that. What happens when you encounter your enemy mate? Prompt 781 - Creative Tag - First Line "Why did you hide this from me?" Unfortunately there were no takers last week on the prompts. Hopefully, this week some soul will step up and take the challenge. Until next week, remember to read, write, like, and comment. Stay safe all.

Hurricanes, storms, and more! Oh my. Sending out my best wishes for everyone's safety as we head into the weekend. Being Friday that means it is time for new prompts. Hopefully, something will strike your fancy. Prompt 778 - Creative Tag - First Line Silence filled the room as he stalked his way toward me, literally tossing people out of his way as he bore down on me. Prompt 779 - Creative Tag - School When the letter arrived informing you that you were invited to the local school of magic, you were hoping it would be like the movies or television series about magical schools. You forgot that things are rarely so straight forward in life. When you arrive there you find you are not prepared for school, magic, or your powers which began working as soon as you arrived. You are surrounded by werewolves, vampires, witches, warlocks, and more just at the school's front steps. You even accidentally set the cute blond boy's book on fire as he went to introduce himself in the school's courtyard. Just when you are sure things can't get worse you are introduced to both your new roommate who is Lucifer Morningstar's son, Damien and then to your homeroom teacher, who is the Arch-Angel Michael. What are you going to do? Prompt 775 found another taker. @aditus has his entry here - https://gayauthors.org/story/aditus/prickly-prompts/7 Prompt 776 was attempted by @jamessavik. Be ready for some hard times as you read - https://gayauthors.org/story/jamessavik/getintojamesshorts/38 So hopefully one of this week's prompts will motivate you to write. Until next time remember to read, write, like, and comment. Stay safe all.

Prompt 777 - Creative Tag - List of Words Use the following words in a story - A full moon, a cracked window, an old letter, a skateboard, and a stuffed toy. Those are my offerings to you this week. Luckily, there were some brave souls who took up last week's challenges. @aditus took a shot at Prompt 774 - https://gayauthors.org/story/aditus/prickly-prompts/6 @Ivor Slipper took a shot at Prompt 775 - https://gayauthors.org/story/ivor-slipper/no-anchovies/1 Go give them a read and comment.
