    Food Impostors

Geez. I like my food imposters but umm, they still have to be food. 😮 Poor Frank. He just wanted to enjoy the holiday, not become a sacrifice for the holiday. That ending though demands one comment! More. loved it.

    Brujo

Twisted little tale. You cant help but feel for Ramon. He heard all the tales from his mother, but didn't listen to them. Now, it appears, he will pay the ultimate price for not following the rules. Mr. October has had the worst trick played on him. I just hope Griff and the Brujo get theirs.
  3. As more and more people pissed off the old lady, they disappeared but a new pumpkin appeared in the display and it was still ten days until Halloween.

    Chapter 13

Aria is going to have some serious blowback from this from his Queen Bitch Mother. I fear what secrets Amara is still keeping. Just what has he done and sacrificed to keep his twin safe? Okay, maybe I can trust Alicia a bit. What on God's green earth did the doctor do to Aria all? I want his medical license pulled! Horrible individual.

    Our House

The yard decorated, check. The livingroom decorated, check. The kitchen decorated,- if it is more than Halloween towels get out, that's my sanctuary! Lol. Otherwise a very sweet and romantic Halloween tale. Loved it.
  6. Red is no more and Boyd has returned. Nothing is as good for the heart and soul as finding yourself and moving on to where you need to be. Great story. Bye, Felicia. Oops, I meant bye, Hal.
  7. I told you that I'd find you before dawn. Game over.
  8. As a survivor, you have every right to feel angry. I'm glad you're seeking help. None of it was your fault. The results of this can be difficult to deal with, but just remember it wasn't your fault, it was his. @Valkyrie said it so well. I'm sorry you had to deal with this.
  9. Halloween - gateway of the holidays. As a kid from the Northeast United States, the months of September, October, November, and December held very different meanings. September meant the end of summer and back to school. Classes were set, new lessons, everything scheduled. October meant autumn arrived. The colors changed, you got your heavier jacket. Schools would begin talking about the class Halloween party. You made plans to trick or treat with your friends. Mom would begin baking her desserts with apples and pumpkins and they had all sorts of spices. The yards were decorated with witches, ghosts, and skeletons. Horror movies and the first holiday cartoons would show. November first meant goodbye to scary as suddenly pictures of pilgrims, Indians, turkeys, and a cornucopia would appear. Conversations revolved around family you hadn't seen in a while coming for Thanksgiving, football season, and the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, which would start the Christmas season. That lead to Christmas. The day after Thanksgiving the malls became a winter wonderland. Santa sat to take pictures. Schools had art projects for Christmas and Hanukkah. You barely functioned waiting on the holiday parties in school. Now come September you'll find Halloween and Christmas both in the stores. Pumpkin spice coffee, muffins, and God only knows what else, is sold in every coffee shop and store beginning September first. November first pumpkin dies and Mint everything is out. The joy of each holiday is blended and the almighty dollar rules. Some still have Halloween parties, and there are pockets where the old joy of horror, scary, and fantasy still lie for kids, but in places it has become just gore or commercial. Some barely get out of their Halloween costume and the Christmas tree is up. Oh well.
  10. Now that was scary. From screams and moans to total silence. You had some great twists there, Dolores. Loved it.

    The Tale

Hmm. Ben is on leave? Kevin is now a wall decoration? The mummy's tomb is in the cupboard? Poor Kevin. No one even noticed he was gone except for Julia, and even she wasn't overly worried. The poor man must have lived a lonely life. Just grateful I don't work there.

    City of the Dead

Now there is a twisted tale. Just as you think things are normal, there is another twist. Very well handled. However, if by chance there is someone I need to clear the air with, I'd rather do it in prayers than by opening the gates. Thanks, but no thanks.
  13. I am always up to mix things up. Just might be a while until you see it. I usually write them at three month clips, so the admins don't need to worry if something happens to me.

    Chapter 12

Well, one attempt with Amara and another with a stranger left Aria a mess. No one should be forced to do anything. No wonder he is a mess. Neither twin has a good self image. All I can wonder about is why dad seems to have abandoned them to their harpy mother? Still afraid what's going to happen when everything hits the fan.
  15. I know for a fact Santa is gay and has a boyfriend. I don't want to know about poor Rudolph after Mann finished with him. And who is playing with the elves now?

    Chapter 11

Wow, there is so much happening here. 1) The panic attack was well handled. I appreciate that both boys are able to depend on Drew. There seems to be little they can depend on but each other. 2) Momma is a heartless bitch. Again I fear the fact she is having another child. After what she has done to the twins, you worry what she will do to a new innocent child. 3) Alicia is still a puzzle. Not sure if I trust her. 4) Grateful there was no Ben 5) The threat. Photos, letters, and all leading to more. Things hinted at by Ben earlier now in photos. I worry about the boys. No denying the train has left the station and is picking up speed. Just wondering if Drew can keep it on track, or will we fly off the rails. Till next time.

    Chapter 10

Wow. She has all the love and warmth of a homicidal maniac. I'm willing to bet a praying mantis is more affectionate as she rips off her mate's head then the twin's mother is. I feel sorry for them.
  18. I'm a little late, what else is new? 16 years this glorious engine has chugged along, "I think I can." It has the writers, new and old, spilling out blood, sweat, and tears for readers. It has seen people talk of hard times, make friends, lovers, and seen people we've come to care for pass. We have the gifts of wonderful stories, the pain of unfinished ones, and the sadness that some will never be completed. Like anything, people come and go. For however long they are a part, the have made an impact by sharing stories, or comments, or jokes in the forums. GA lives and breathes, dies and is reborn. The lucky thing is everyone is invited and it makes us a community who shares various ideas. For that, I'm humbled to be a part. Happy Anniversary. Here is to many more.

    Epilogue

Seeon escaped the civil war that is being waged in his country. His brother fights against his brother-in-law, who has his sister living like a living doll trapped in her own mind. Seeon has had to leave that behind for now and focus on his own future, which is much better for his own health.
  20. I've rewritten the ending a few times. Just not happy yet.

    Chapter 9

Wow. Their mother makes Joan Crawford look demure. No wonder the twins are all over the place. Even Alicia, who I had respected, lost her mask and admits everything is reported to Mommy Dearest. Next chapter should be interesting.

    Chapter 3

So let the games begin. Again, I'm not sure I like Ben. The way he tells the facts and colors everything doesn't scream trust me. I find him obnoxious to be honest. I don't like that he seems to be counting down til the boys are eighteen and legal. Emma is a delight. She is a cook who is more worried about filling you up then doing something fancy. She doesn't mince words, and seems to want to mother the boys. I like her take a bit more. Seems to show her character. Everything we learn about Drew just leads to more questions. How was he hurt? Why has he distanced himself from his family? How did he get into such tight pants? 😁 Aria likes androgynous or feminine attire. This should be interesting. Another week to wait. Sigh.

    Takes Pride

I'm always glad to see a prompt really inspire someone. Great story and wouldn't mind seeing you expand it. 😁
  24. Lol. I remember a wrong number like that, but never wrote those types of stories. I do remember HBO having some more risque shows though. Lol.ah the 70s and early 80s.
  25. This was sweet. His sister was like my brother. Seems familiar, even if I would have been a kid then.
