I understand that the same was sadly true at this time in many (most?) states of the US (Bowers v Hardwick 1986)
feel free to add as much further detail as you wish, and/or correct me if I’m wrong
A Little Respect (1988)
If you’re not familiar with 80s pop then this is a great example from songwriting duo Vince Clarke and Andy Bell (‘Erasure’) who released their synth-pop hit 37 years ago
it still sounds as lively, fresh and joyful as the day it was recorded - probably why it’s been covered, re-mixed and re-released so many times since
enduring songs don’t need to reach #1 (it reached #4 in the UK charts

just tried opening GA (iPad 6 iOS 16.6) and got the above message in a small popup window blocking access (I can’t post it - I “printed” a pdf)
This is the content inside the popup window (with the GA page ‘darkened’ in the background and my “logged in” avatar clearly visible):
“GA logo
Unlock more content
Take action to continue accessing the content on thisOpen site
View a short ad
Site-wide access for 24 hours“
I clicked the “play” button inside the popup as requested to ‘see the ad’ but not much happened
so I closed the browser tab
and reopened GA with no issue
Now I’m concerned the popup was malware and clicking it has installed it on my iPad…
Edit to add: It’s just popped up again The only way to clear it is to close the browser tab +reopen.
Edit (second): It’s happened again - I give up
yes, sculpting (a la Michelangelo) is removing material that can never be put back, whereas words can always be reinstated after you’ve deleted them - even when the delete key was smashed with extreme relish…
