Those were awful dreams and awful revelations. Jimbo's parents were abusers. I like Mason's take on medicine though. -
This sexual cat-and-mouse is definitely exciting, but they both seem confident and fragile at the same time. Any small reversal will make them feel as if they have been defeated, and neither read as if they'd take defeat well.

I paused when reading about the lifeguard trunks. I'm not sure what that said about Pate's character, especially against his otherwise impeccable manners. I'll need to think before eating the eggs at Mother Poole's...

They are... dysfunctional..? But it works for them. And it is cute in its own way, and they need each other. Could you imagine being their neighbour? With Lee threatening to burn something every time you wished them Good Morning? 😂

Those ongoing anxiety attacks are a worry, especially without knowing the triggers. I hope that gets addressed soon. I have a feeling Mason might not be bullied for very long...

Living in the U.K., some of the great joys of reading stories like this come from looking up the references to immerse myself in the story locale, which tends to be different than over here. Little things like "what is a bundt cake..." and so on. You've also got me looking at serving ware and I've taken a fresh look at Viognier, which is a wine I haven't bought in years. Then again, perhaps I just need to get out more 😄
