Hi Cannd,
Thank you for reading! Yes, the dad was looking more than the mother, you got that right. I struggled with the need to put Toshiro's father into the story first, instead of the mother. But, the father has searched long and hard, so I felt their reunion needed a bit more thought. Two, the mother is level headed, and has taken over the role of holding things together in the family. So, she'd show up first, not to mention her level of guilt toward Toshiro's disappearance in the first place. You've pointed out a very crucial part in the relationship between Toshiro's parents. Their dynamics changed a lot. Yuriko blames herself, and she coped with it by doing what she could to keep the family together, be it business or whatever, compared to the father who actively decided to get out there and look for his son. So, in the next chapter, you'll get to see a lot about their dynamics, and it might play a large role in Toshiro's dilemma as well.
Toshiro has been played a difficult card. I love that you bring out the crux of the matter so easily. The test of love is always... what are you willing to do for that person you love? Leave your life as you know it, move to another country, maybe continent...? It's always about what you can compromise. On one hand there is Jason planning for marriage, and then there is Toshiro who feels just lucky to breathe at any one single moment. He practically seems to never be safe. So how can they end up together? Such a complex question....lol..this author is also waiting to see how...the muse is taking a nap. lol
As it is, I think Toshiro has changed a lot because of what he's learned and felt from Jason. So, he'll always make the decision to protect Jason first before anyone else. As for the money...Toshiro is always ahead of the game you know...you never know...lol
Thank you for such a thought provoking comment. You always get me thinking even more than I was while writing. As Cole said before, stories on GA end up meaning so much more because of the comments from readers. Look forward to the last chapter.
