  1. I was reading on Nifty and came across Rob Colton's Timber Pack Chronicles when it was first posting. From his chapter headers I found the url for Literotica and so many other authors. I read a bunch of Cia's work and found her link to GA. While reading stories, I got the urge to write Little Man and another online author encouraged me to post on GA as a better place for starting authors. I joined and decided to stick around. Who knew?
  2. Did Joann write another prompt? It sounds like something in one of Joann's prompts...
  3. Fleeting Rainbows and Valkyrie both had bittersweet takes on 303. Very nicely done. Now I need to find the time to read through the other prompt. Go go gadget time-machine!!!
  4. Congrats, Rob! Now get on that Timber Pack sequel!
  5. LMAO!!! "Considerable Pumping Required" You are so going to hell for posting that. LOL
  6. Oh I never said I'd be so gracious face to face...
  7. This article is pretty fascinating to see the different viewpoints. Every author that receives rave reviews has been verbally beaten or stabbed in some fashion, justified or not. It also helps to see that all of us have our ups and downs when it comes to criticism and some take harder blows than others. I'm still fairly new to this, so I'm sure I will have other comments that are better and worse down the line; it's the nature of the game, so to speak. Thank god GA is a more forgiving place to start out than other sites. Even so, we continue to do what we do, hopefully a little wiser and maybe a little thicker skinned. (Maybe.)
  8. When the spring come around and even in the summer it's a much different situation. You can crash your car looking around if you're not careful.
  9. As bundled up in layers of clothing and coats as they are right now? No.
  10. I was told by a woman today that my town was rated #6 in the highest amount of snowfall in the U.S. this year. I don't like my town very much right now.
  11. I think you're on the right track so far. Making announcements to update and encouraging discussion by review and forums is a good place to start. And the big one is to respond in reasonable time to all reviews. This is one site that thrives on interactions between the author and reader. Accept criticism graciously, even if it's not favorable and take it as an opportunity to fine tune your writing. (Nobody wants to read the work of a snotty bitch. LOL) Update as often as your schedule allows or if possible, make a schedule for the sake of your readership to know what to look forward to. If there is too long a break between installments, some readers can drop off. Sometimes the response is a slow build and other times you catch the right group at the right time. Good luck!
  12. This is a good, solid story that a reader can get into without over-investing time with lots of surprises throughout. A nice treat inside the Premium Section.
  13. That's a much better showing this week Go Proms! and, uh... nice work Signature Authors!
  14. Gratz, Mark! I don't think too many of us will see that kind of number anytime soon. Nice work!
  15. The grim reaper prompt was one of my absolute favorites. The idea popped in my head and I knocked it out during a slow period at work. Glad you liked it!
  16. There weren't a lot of reviews on this one because it initially posted in the forums rather that in a compilation of stories like I have now to keep them easily accessible. Prompts are announced every Friday on the site's main blog post. Comicfan keeps new ones up every week to give anyone who would like to participate an opportunity to exercise their writing skills. There are specific forum thread for each one so everyone can get involved. You don't have to be an author. Take a look at the threads or shoot me a PM. I'm a huge advocate for them.
  17. I'm so glad you're enjoying my work. It's only recently I've had to drive/discipline to write completed works and the response has been wonderful. I should have done this ages ago!
  18. As long as it's not my naked ass on the screen, I'm pretty sure he doesn't care. We are talking about the man who has bought me porn for Christmas in the past because I asked for it.
  19. I wish I had some kind of wisdom to share, but this whole situation just sucks.
  20. I would buy any product that was ballsy enough to make that their tagline just on principle alone.
  21. ZOMG, Thorne! That's so awesome!
  22. James has a wonderfully unique take on the prompt. Well worth taking a look. Nicely done!
  23. I don't care that it's a lube ad. The rest of it is very touching.
  24. perhaps...
  25. Some people just require a bit of discipline
