I'm curious -- how did she fake Luke's death? There's the obit that goes in the paper, and the funeral -- did she make up something about a funeral? Buy a headstone? Say he was creamated?

I liked that Jared couldn't get anyone to help him and I liked that he fought like the young alpha he is. Sooooo many other writers would've had that pack of alphas come fight with him, then let him be victorious in the final fight with Carl. This is so much more ... realistic, if I can use that word in reference to a shifter story. LOL ADORED Alpha Margo. Wonder if she wears the thick makeup to keep males from focusing on her beauty. Great chapter! I hope you finish this fascinating tale. EDITED TO ADD: Poor Carmen! Damn, did she have to lose a eye? I hope she survived.

I hope that you share the reason for Diarmad's actions soon. I think this is starting to drag without someone catching on. I like the characters, but I think the story stalls because of the lack of real movement.

You mixed up the masters! Every time you say Carlos you mean Oliver, and vice versa.

Fun chapter, but I felt like the stuff with Gator was downplayed. Will was being stalked? How did that make him feel? And they found out who trashed the house? How did everyone feel about that? Will the family attend the trial? And a a little thing, but -- why was there a cop on the door to Liam's room if the perpetrators were in custody?

Yuuuuup, and I bet it was his idea to fuck up the house, too. I would feel sorry for him if he wasn't so determined to destroy what he really wants to be (my theory). The duo has a plan for what they'll do if Liam doesn't make the majors -- bummed they'll probably have to use it through no fault of their own. I love reading about the huge family the boys have gathered. I'm an only child, and I always wanted to be a part of something like that.

Just read the last few chapters again! I have to know: have you ever eaten a ham, jam and tomato sandwich?

I just realized that since this is told from Chris's point of view, we probably won't get the details on when he and Rory mate, dammit! :0) I enjoyed the quiet way the two mates are getting to know each other. As we all know, mate meetings are usually about the physical drive to have sex ASAP. Rory instinctively knows that would be difficult for Chris. I could actually envision two wolves in the snow and cold, faces touching from nose to forehead. So sweet! And Rory's dad turning out to be the softie who snapped their picture was the best thing in the chapter for me. Also, the fact that both sets of parents were not true mates gave me hope for Kyle and Corey's relationship. Um, Wolf, if you ever decide to write a non-journal sexy times scene featuring these two, I'm here for it!

I think I know who trashed the house and also who Seb will start dating. Excited to see if I'm right. I agree with the earlier commenter that Seb was out of line. Glad Will gave him a taste of his own medicine.

Wolf, I don't remember what Chris looks like. Will you describe him, please? I mean, we now have an idea of what a hottie Rory is ... Also, I love this passage, which sums up Chris's fears (hell, most people's fears as they contemplate a new relationship) perfectly: "Will I even be able to accept a male as my mate? Will he be able to accept me or will he reject me? Will he look at me as the monster I use to think of myself as? Will he be a power hungry monster himself? Will he say he wants nothing to do with me because of what I’ve done? Will his father ban him from seeing me? All these questions and more ran through my mind ..."

RIGHT?! I was like, "plot twist!!" LOL I figured he would slowly fall for Kyle. Then I thought, wouldn't it be a trip if Alpha Jennings turned out to have a son and that's who Chris smelled and he wound up with a future alpha after all? Chris' parents redeemed themselves somewhat. I hope they attend therapy sessions with him and/or get to read his journal, to understand the full level of Michael's abuse. They need to know what they helped enable. They'll be an important part of his recovery.

I'm gonna push back a little on her thinking he was a nice, respectful boy. I think she WANTED TO BELIEVE he was a nice, respectful boy because of the benefits. In this chapter: "I know Mom did call Mrs. Stockdale once when she saw or caught something that he did ..." I bet she had inklings through the years. But, this is fiction, you're the author, and I watch too much real-crime TV. LOL

Nice chapter, but damn, I wanted to see what happened after that shower. 🙁

Nope. This reads like Chris was in an abusive relationship and when he went to his mom, she poo-pooed his concerns. She enabled Michael to abuse her son, and told herself it was for his good when it was for her own good. And Chris is making excuses for her behavior. Michael was simply a bad seed, evil from day one. This chapter covered a lot of twisted psychological issues, and covered them well. Ultimately Chris is responsible for his actions, but damn, Michael had his hooks into him good. Who knows if he would've ever woken up to the truth of his situation.

I binged, too! But I took two days, LOL. Man, I cried and cried. I don't think could I stand to be away from the man I loved for four years. I don't think I have that strength. But, these characters are young and have the rest of their lives together. And I understand having to go away to become the person you were meant to be. Great story. A little fuzzy around why the brother had to get involved with the mob, but I knew he had to die to move the plot along. I thoroughly enjoyed the world you wove. Never stop writing.

Glad to see you've decided to continue this story! I hope we find out soon why the eff Diarmad had to do this.

I've been thinking the same thing. I finally came to the conclusion that they've been watching him, and see that he is trying to change. He hasn't attempted to avoid his community service, and has actually asked for more. He's quiet, respectful and doesn't push himself on others. Also, I think the opinion of his "guards" goes a long way.
