After some thought, I edited out the negative part of my comment because it wasn’t constructive, just generalized bitching. LOL I left what really matters: This format is actually harder to read. I agree wholeheartedly. His behavior is inexcusable. However, I gave this chapter a “Love” because Gregory did an excellent job of explaining himself. Oh, he’s cray, but it’s the kind of cray Chris can live with.

I almost stopped reading after the last chapter, because while Chris can seemingly forget how Gregory treated him, I cannot. Are you going to revisit Gregory’s horrible behavior? Or has Chris decided to not think about it?

He threatened to rape Chris. He threatened to expose his past. Chris is supposed to “get over” that, allow himself to be ordered around and provide meals with food he bought for himself? #nope

And we all know Richard ain’t shit. If he gets drunk at the reception and hits on Drake — who’s lookin’ good! — I won’t be surprised.

... this is NOT insurmountable. And it’s certainly not what I was thinking! Some people are just bad. No matter what they are given in life, no matter how many things go their way, they are never satisfied. Preston is one of those people. And his parents should stop handling him with kid gloves. Enablers. His dad CHOSE to raise and love him. The other two kids are just what he got. LOL

I’m curious as to why the phone numbers were kept in the safe. They could've been almost anywhere else. Makes me wonder why Christopher was given the combination.

I have such affection for these characters. Thank you for sharing your stories. I hope you continue to write and share. It doesn’t have to be these guys — whatever fires your inspiration. Thanks again.

I have three problems with this chapter, and I’m surprised I’m the first to mention them. 1. Mr. C said he and his wife were disappointed when they found out Troy is gay because they wouldn’t have grandkids. What about adoption? A surrogate? There’s also Tom — he comes home for holidays and considers them family. Don’t they feel the same? 2. Mr. C joking about spanking Adam. Remember how Adam wound up there in the first place? He was beaten by his dad. I was surprised Adam didn’t respond negatively at the mention and at the slap. Trauma like that doesn’t fade fast. He’s been having nightmares. And I thought it was tasteless of Mr. C to mention it. 3. Mr. C (wow, all my problems are with this character) knows Mike is involved in this beating and the last one, yet has done nothing and doesn’t appear to feel guilt for that.

I like the direction the story is taking! Say, is this the Deke we know and love from earlier stories? Edited to add: Whoops, it’s DADE I was thinking of! But there was a Deke, too ...

Heh. If Winter wasn’t so tired, maybe he would’ve caught the “I won’t touch you TONIGHT.” There’s always tomorrow, and the next day, and the next ... It’s nice to see Hazeth’s nurturing side. Maybe he’s finally found his calling. (How ‘bout a haircut? That’s a crazy amount of hair.)

I agree. If the text didn’t come from mom’s number he would’ve noticed. It’s obvious Mike is jealous that Troy has moved on. I would say Troy should call him out, but he would be attacked even more viciously. I just hope they haven’t seriously hurt him.

Actually, I think Preston isn’t done with Jimmy Dean, either — especially if he heard Drake’s slip, which I bet he did. He’s the eavesdropping type.

I have questions about Dylan and Heather that I’ve been meaning to ask. They aren’t mates, right? They don’t feel that legendary pull. If that’s the case, either could meet their true mate before marriage, yes?

I was thinking Stormy. I love the descriptions of how Riley reacts to stimuli. Babies are fun.

I guess I’m the only one on Rachel’s side in this. I think I would’ve done the same thing! I don’t like the way she’s dealt with Ryan’s porn past, but she can want what’s best for her brother and wonder if Erik is it. And she saw what NY did to Ryan, and doesn’t want him to hurt like that again. However, I say all this as an only child who’s never experienced such a relationship. Maybe I’d really want to kick her ass. LOL No matter the method, tho, the two finally did admit their feelings. Who knows how long it would’ve dragged on without her impetus.

My first thought: He doesn’t have any protectant for his bare feet! LOL
