    Chapter 5

I love the way you reveal just little tidbits at a time, all while building towards what sounds like an inevitable confrontation. These tender moments between are beautifully writen, and the little reveals are so well placed and natural that it makes for a smooth, wonderful read. Looking forward to next week.

    Chapter 8

Awesome story, I cheered for Shin at first, and really, really didn't like Young Jae, but as it became clear what he was dealing with and what kind of a person he really was, I started to like him too. I'm glad this all worked out in the end for Min, it was neat to see how he emerged from his reluctance into someone who was stronger than he initially seemed. Great Story!
  5. Considering my siggis and I have finals this time of year, this is the perfect song for us right now. Same Q.
  6. Stupidest thing...it had to be the year I got a surfboard, and begged and pleaded to go surfing on Christmas day because I just coudln't wait to try out the board and it was like, 87 out and just georgeous. I caught 6 or 7 good waves, onces I could handle, and got cocky, tried to handle a larger one than I should have and got slammed. Spent the rest of Christmas evening in the ER. Same question

    Unexpected

You've got a very interesting begining here, i love the switches in narration between the chapters and the difference in the personalities between the two main characters, i sense that it is going to be an explosive first meeting. Can't wait to read more.
  12. I found myself organizing today, somewhere in between all the edits on my final project and the frustrating realization that I needed some help or advice from my teacher before I proceeded any further, which, incidentally, had me at that place somewhere between tears and puking my guts out, when the heart is racing and everything seems to be going a little too fast to be real. Anyway, in an effort to calm down and not freak out, since of course it just HAD to be raining outside, so you know, going for a walk was out of the question, it's too damned cold to get wet out there on a night like tonight, I started sorting through old journals and pieces of writing, looking at all the things I've started but never finished, ideas that were outlined but never got off the ground, character creations that fizzled before the story even began. As I looked, I was reminded that somewhere in that pile, I had a notebook filled with ideas, and progress and thoughts on them that was supposed to help me pick my next project to work on, a novel concept, if I could have stuck to it, but somehow, I always ended up in some other direction, hijacked by my muse and leaving all those other projects behind. My roomie is forever telling me that lack of organization means you’re a more creative person, and I’m forever telling her that lack of organization leaves me wanting to either pull my hair out or gouge my eyes out, depending on the day. All in all, I found myself sitting here at near 4 in the morning, a new chapter of my story finished and ready to be proofread and edited, thinking that while I wait on some (hopefully) divine intervention from my teacher, I should look more carefully at all those notebooks, and give some serious thought to whether or not there’s anything in the pile that can actually be saved. I asked my cat’s opinion, he’s a wise Ginger Tom with the sweetest disposition in the world, and he sort of purred and curled up, nudging my hand in that way that suggests either write something or pet me, damnit. So here it is, my first blog. Joining up here at GA has done wonders for my creative process, and who knows, maybe things will finally get finished.

    Chapter 2

Oh wow, this has certainly gotten intense. Love the desperation of Soubi, and Ryo's outward calm and patience. Great stuff, I can't wait to read more.
  15. Music and candles. I absolutly cannot write without music, and I've found that need certain types of music just go with certain stories while I'm writing them, while other music will distract me from a story or pull me into a different one. For example, the two pieces that I have up here at GA were written with different kinds of music in the background. Cold Confusion was written almost entirely to Nine Inch Nails, Manson, and Black Label Society, while Desolation Angels, is being written to classic rock and blues, with John Moreland's music being a huge influence on the piece thus far. I don't like a lot of light or added destration when I'm writing, thus the candles let me have the lights out and focus on the computer screen and not other things in the stuido, like the half finished drawings I really plan to get back to or the photos I'm still trying to decide how to mount. I tend to pounce from thing to thing too easily, so i do everything in my power to cut down on distractions and i love to write at night, since I work on most of my freelance projects in the day when the house is empty and the kids are at school and my vamp roomie is passed out. When I can get away from the house and out to the woods, I write by the river, or while sitting with my camera, waiting to see what happens by.
  16. Thanks for an awesome story, I couldn't stop reading this once i got started, I'm really loving the character's and the way they interact. Keep up the good work.

    Killing your babies

I once attented a writing workshop where the flyer handed out at the begining of each class one took there, had a section on it titled "Don't kill babies" and it was about how looking at a story negitivly could kill the writers passion to finish a story and/or the sense of joy and accomplishment felt in a finished story. I never realized how true that was until i tried to 'salvage' a piece of work that I felt hadn't ended up turning out the way I'd planned. I ended up putting aside a project i had started with a great deal of enthusiasm, on my quest to 'fix' the previous one. in the end, i ended up with a half finished, mangled 'salvage' effort, and an outline, rough draft, and character sketches that were never worked on again. I think you should write from a feeling of motivation and joy to create and just let yourself run with what comes to mind, without worrying about trying to redo past pieces. Just 2 cents from someone who saw the title of the blog and felt inspired to check it out.
  20. I just watched the M.O of M.I the other night, talk about twisted, so many plots and plans and things unraveling with different interations, some good stuff there, loved the plot.
