So my new class has started and I already hate every bit of it which is never a good way to kick things off. It’s an advanced 2D animation class and I figured out years back that 2D was not a style that I preferred, but this is a core class and the last 2D class I have to take for my major. The plus is that my classes are only five and a half weeks, the drawback to that though is that they are a very intensive five and a half weeks and the teacher is picky as hell about every little thing and that isn’t helping me much either. We were assigned characters, which took away the freedom to create, and what’s worse is that we were all assigned the SAME character, and given a character turn around sheet to basically copy the character from. Well, gee, I’m just so thrilled to have no creative freedom whatsoever, yay, I just really feel like drawing now NOT! He asked for thumbnails, and then said they wrong because they weren’t detailed, thumbnails are not supposed to have that much detail, at least not the way they were explained in other classes, what he’s asking for is a storyboard, only he sure didn’t word it that way so now the time I spent drawing last night was wasted because it all has to be done again. Joy. So why am I typing this rant instead of drawing….because I hate this class and I don’t want to draw some stupid, droopy, slacker human character for a comedy club skit when I hate comedies and think the script I came up with is stupid. Mostly though, I’m just venting before I sit here and redo the mess I’ve made of my work so I can actually move on to something more amusing till I have to draw again. If I don’t vent I’ll just sit here and stew and be angry for hours like a petulant little kid while my kids walk through the living room laughing at all the paper I’ve thrown all over the place and whispering comments to one another that “mommy’s pouting.”

As a writer, I have found myself grateful for every review and try real hard to respond to each and every one of them too. To have people write that they are rooting for a character, or that a characters actions angered them, or that something that happened to a character made them sad is just an awesome thing to read because it lets me know what I've written connected with someone else.

Ahh, in that case, definately try the editors corner near the bottom of the forums, that would be the best place to put up information about the story that you're working on and the kind of help that you're looking for.

If you go down to the editors corner forum, there is a place there to apply for beta's and editors, it explains the process in the thread as to what to include. You can also talk to editors in the chat room, maybe introduce yourself and strike up a conversation, give them an idea of the genre of your story and what it's going to be about. I'm not an editor, but I wouldn't mind reading and giving you feedback to help you get started with things.

This was a beautifully written chapter, and i have just loved seeing the progression this little family has made in dealing with space and work issues as well as growing used to one another. The feeling of contentment at the end that followed the talk with Steve's side of the bed was a lovely touch. I hope your writer's block is fleeting, I'm looking forward to reading more.

Don't let assholes like that tear you down and make you feel bad. it takes a ton of guts to write stories and share them with people, and someone poking and stabbing at them can really eat away at the courage it takes to share. I hope you won't ever let him or anyone like him do that. Those people aren't capable of creating, all they know how to do is destroy. It takes such a small mind to belittle and tear down and it's a shame those people don't spend more time finding their own outlets and creating something positive as they do being negative and mean.

YES! ground rules and a talk, that's perfect, that's exactly what they need. Loved this chapter. Keep up the good writing, it's quite enjoyable.

Finally got to sleep a little after 6 am, at 8:15 my phone started going off....this trend continued all day. Note to self, NEVER leave cell phone tuned on over the weekend.

Watching a parent go downhill is one of the hardest things there is. Don't hold it all in and shut down, talk, rant, yell, scream, even if it's in the silence of the woods or outside in a storm, just let it all out. Come here and rant and rave all you need to, we're here to listen.

yup, 5:32 here, sigh. but i am making progress on the chapter i'm working on...i hope, if it reads like gobbdygook later in the day, i'll know it was a bad idea to try and work on it this morning.

sigh....it's 3:30 in the morning, and i'm awake again.

oh man, CLIFFHANGER! I'm going to be anxiously waiting to see what happens next. I'm so glad they got to talk about the past and get a measure of closure there, as well as admit their feelings for one another and how deep they ran, now I just have to hope they get the second chance they deserve.

I woke up at 4 this morning and decided to clean the house. yey insomnia

I love movies, i winter i'll catch up on many that i've missed. Cooking too i'll do a bunch of in winter, as well as reading and writing. i still hike and take pictures in winter, that's a year round thing for me, as is Martial Arts and music. I play guitar and piano/keyboard. Spring brings gardening, summer brings canning, crafts is another year round thing as is swimming, we have a great indoor pool in town. Camping is big for me in spring, summer and fall. I love to visit museums and historical places too. Fishing is another big thing in spring/summer/fall, though I have been meaning to get back into ice fishing in winter. Hunting in fall/winter is another thing I love to spend time doing.

Wow, that was agonizing and scary, and wonderfully written. I was cringing as read that, your description of the events was wonderful, really pulled me into the story and held me there.I'm so looking forward to more.
