    Life's Path

You really wove life and the seasons together, a passage of time, long and short, can been seen in the words that you chose. Thank you for sharing this, it was quite lovely.

    Dream Lover

Those last four lines were the most powerful of the poem for me, really pulling the whole thing together and driving the point home. Great job.

    Conversations

I really enjoyed the first two, but i loved this last one and how it changed from not knowing one another, to an unknown and unseen love. Wonderful job.

    A Small Voice

I love the darkness of this, and the fact that it brought up the image of a vampire in my head. Awesome!

    To the End

This is a very powerful piece of writing, and so true, we can not bend to fear and those who would do evil and cause harm. Well written, thank you for sharing this!
  9. Lots of things to think about in reading this, especially in reading the last section, about our hearts being weighed and whether our deeds will reflect the humanity we're supposed to have. Very nice poem!
  10. Yey, reading time, and here I was thinking i wasn't going to have anything to do this afternoon!
  11. Just got home from an awesome mother/daughter weekend with my nine year old daughter, and just, wow, the memories made on this trip are just priceless. We drove down to cedar rapids yesterday morning and spent the morning exploring the city, taking in the beautiful architexture and museums as well as having a nice dinner together and then totally going gaga over the half price bookstore we found. I think we both could have moved in there for a week and still not explored everything. After the bookstore we found a park and took a stroll through it at around sunset, feeding the ducks and walking around their pond for awhile. We sat up late last night drawing, reading and watching the Disney channel before falling asleep, had homemade waffles for breakfast (I’ve never made waffles from scratch before, that was neat, with the waffle iron and all though I nearly made a mess lol) We found a market filled with artisans and food venders and had a blast wandering through it and sampling things before we went to the art museum and spent almost three hours exploring the exhibits. She was really taken with the Roman busts, as well as the Grant Wood collection (he is the artist who did American Gothic) Hearing her thoughts and impressions of the artwork helped me look at the pieces with different eyes and from a different point of view, and I love how excited she is to visit more museums, it isn’t something we have much opportunity for in the rural area where we live. We capped the day off by seeing the Twin City Ballet’s performance of Cinderella, which was just beautifully done. She was captivated by the dancers and watched with rapt attention on the edge of her seat through the whole performance. I was so glad that the weather was gorgeous for our outing. So many times when we go places we have a full van so to speak, it was awesome to have time just her and I.
  12. I have a few characters who cuss in my stories, nothing over the top, mostly F-bombs, GDit, an occasion A double croocked letter, and some SOBs to boot, but i try to keep it relevent to the situation and not have them use profanity constantly.

    Chapter 1

I can't wait to see what the actual issue is and how everyone who dumped on Kei is going to feel when they realize that he truly didn't have any control over what was happening. This story has the potential to be a tear jerker, that's for sure, I'm looking forward to reading more.

    Chapter 6

The interactions between these two are wonderful, I have really been enjoying this story and seeing the misunderstandings between the two as well as their resolutions to it. I can see them inching towards a relationship, each with their own fears and concerns to work through. It will be fun seeing how it all plays out.
  15. Music and writing are two of my choices as well, but the big thing that never seems to fail is grabbing my camera and heading to the woods, the quiet walk, the beauty of nature, it helps me ground myself, find my center and put things into perspective.
  16. I enjoy reading fan fiction, though I have never written any, i can see where a fandom would be a wonderful tool for an author looking to hone their craft, in fact, i am sure that if i had no gotten my writing start in online roleplaying games than I prolly would have gone the fan fiction route.
  17. Big THANK YOU to LISA and FLEETING RAINBOWS for being my Editors! You are both so wonderful to work with! Big THANK YOU to all of my readers as well, thank you for continuing to read, review and encourage!
  18. Big Hugs Yettie, my own mother is getting up there in years, and we are fortunate that she is still doing well, though we have noticed her memory beginning to slip the closer she gets to 70. I hope the day never comes when she doesn't remember me. Stay strong and vent whenever you need it, there are so many of us here willing to listen.

    Chapter 1

Sometimes it’s the first few notes of a piano played with nimble fingers ivory keys that shatter the calm of a lonely drive on a winter’s day the sky dark while I rage and pound the steering wheel remembering the moment they told me that you were gone. Sometimes it’s the first few cords Wrung with heartrending beauty from a black and silver guitar like the one that you used to play while I lay beside you lost in a place only we could know wishing the whole world would fade away
  20. Really awesomely good!!!
  21. It's melting here in Iowa, finally, and the weather finally hit 40 yesterday. It's still going to be a few weeks before I can even think of putting my garden in, which sucks, because being inside has been sort of boring and its getting so hard to keep focus on things just with having been inside for so long. Was gonna go hike today with my daughter, even with the melting snow, but the trail is a lake right now and in the low places likly pretty impassible. Sigh. Last year at this time Id taken weeks of pictures already, but we also had the hottest summer we'd had since i moved to Iowa 7 years ago. I am hoping with the colder winter this year the summer might be a little cooler and more comfortable for doing things.
  22. I'm kind of wondering something similar about prompt 221
