  1. Lots of jitters here and most of then caused by Andy feeling out of control. Not surprising really, but I'm mainly sorry about him missing hte appointment with Dr. Shea. He should have insisted, but that might have brought on another round of questions from hs family. Of course, we all knows he's the kindest boy in the world and the one least likely to turn violent. I loved how he enjoyed the track meeting in spots and having a loving parent there. i'm glad Monica made it a priority in the middle of the wedding preparations. Andy will probably improve at the pole vault and his race starts, because he is very stubborn in a good way. Just like Zander is, even with blue balls.
  2. Another good title for this chapter could be: Making People Speechless I loved the boys springing the surprise on Terry and Kaz, and Andy certainly enjoyed making Terry speechless. The only person he liked surprizng more was Mrs. Marjorie and that scene was priceless too. She immediate saw the significance of the event in broader terms, just as Mr. Stevenson did. It underlines the importance of having the wedding at church and showing the whole town what love is all about. I guess Garret and Monica were somewhat taken aback at the boys still wanting to marry, but I think Andy's reasoning is sound. And considering the way Stevenson men fall in love Zander's parents should be happy about Andy's unswerwing devotion and commitment. I think his grandmother instinctively sees that, and that is why she goes through with the gift of the rings. (Will there be time to have them sized for the boys before the wedding?) Of course that was another of those speechless moments for all of us. There were a bunch of small ones too: the news about Bruce's father, the boys having to buy suits and deal with all the wedding hassle, the interviews with Father Brewer and Dr. Shea, but the last major one was the applying for a marriage license. That one had me chortling with glee as the boys stumped the two disapproving ladies and made the supervisor do what she's paid to do without getting the chance to act on her narrowminded opinion. :D so awesome and I bet Garrett went back for the license just to have the chance to smile and thank her politely.
  3. Apart from Zander having another 'silly' bout of insecurity this was such a wonderfully happy chapter. It's funny to think Zander almost needs the marriage more than Andy. All Andy's good deeds are coming back to 'haunt' him as in reward him. I hope he'll manage to visit Toby at some point.
  4. Ambrose is one clever detective, but I'm a bit angry with him for the dirty uncle trick he played on Andy. But he's right about Eustace never letting him forget those mistakes. Uncle Allan may be a good guy, but I cannot believe he and Andy's grandmother never contacted or visited the boy when he got older. Not much family love or concern there.
  5. Not much I can add to the speculations and rants of other reviewers, espacially since I know the rest of the story and after reading you replies. I think marriage is both a practical and a sweet solution, who cares if it lasts two years, twenty years or a life time. It's what the boys need here and now, emotionally and legally. I wasn't too surprised to see Ambrose turn up, although having him appear on a Sunday morning makes me wonder if he's here in an official capacity or not. But I never doubted he would keep investigating the riddle of Eric, perhaps just to placate a probably irrate Eustace who saw his farm help evaporate as a result of his son's nosy and suspicious mind.
  6. Everybody else have commented on Zander's silly notions and Andy's surprising solution - and for once I get to say I agree with all the lengthy reviews before me. So I only have one bone to pick: Why the fuck did Mr Stevenson have to ruin a nice dinner and make Andy afraid all over again by telling him of the appeal the moment he knew? That was such an insensitive, dick-headed move! Now we know where Zander gets his stupid act-before-thinking gene from. And while it can be excused in an immature teen, there are no redeeming factors for his dad. He didn't even apologize when he saw Andy sitting in his study in the middle of the night, which was the moment he should have at least realized what those news did to his adopted son. Idiot, grrrrr
  7. Like my Swedish friends and others I loved the court scene. Like Kaz told Zander: let the adults with power do this the official and legal way. And the revenge on Bruce which Andy engineered was much better than Zander's hot-headed reaction. My favorite moment in this chapter was coach asking Andy where he's been hiding his talent for the past year. I'm sure he wouldn't like the honest answer. Oh, and while I'm sure judge Harrison's official note will set wheels rolling I also want to imagine DR. Shea filing a complaint about the stalking and the repercussions on the mental health of her patient. That should make Ms Chandler's boss sit up and take notice too - not just of her but of the two people who were aiding and abetting this charade. It's so awesome to read this story again, and this time I'm even remembering to leave reviews.
  8. I hardly need to say anything about this roller-coaster ride, since other people have expressed my feelings about the CPS lady very eloquently (I'm looking at you Spikey, lol). But I have to admit I loved to see the way Andy and Garrett dealt with her. So clever
  9. Another of my favorite chapters, sorry about not leaving a review before this. Greg is an asshole, but we always knew that. I can understand his frustration at being denied his chance to swim, and he may be correct that some people would kick him out for being gay. However, I'm thinking part of the reason is he's somewhat of a sexual thrill seeker, liking to persuade guys to have sex in the showers. Nothing wrong with seducing if it's consensual, but he should have realized what the consequences would be if he's caught. And the outing of other swimmers simply means he's losing all the sympathy and support he might have had from them. Stupid idiot. I can see why Tim objects to the whole church thing, but I liked how Andy confronted the priest with his question. To me it's simply another way of working through his issues, and at least the priest didn't try to sell him any crap ideas about God doing things for the best. He very clearly said God did not condone evil stuff. We all know there are a lot of bigoted churches and religions so it's fine to show the exceptions. Just like with the coach.
  10. I simply love this chapter. It's a major turning point for Andy. And I totally understand Monica choking up at being called Mom twice.
  11. I'll support any club who can beat the one taking the Blue Jays out of the game. Oh, and I like Bill Murray, who is a Cubs supporter. Fingers crossed for tonight.
  12. I like this story and the plan of the masked decoys is good.

    Chapter 12

Nice to see a head of school who has the right attitude and is clever too. One wonders where Kenny learned to be a bigoted idiot, since his dad seems OK.

    The Adagio

Wonderful story. Very passionate and beautiful.
  15. Thanks for doing the direct video of the story I linked to. There were some pictures as well, they were clearer than the video.
  16. Well, that went well, so that's a relief. Now they have a place where they can be themselves and relax. But Nathan's parents probably won't agree to sleep-overs for a while.
  17. I bet someone will have commented on the lacking legs in the FB thread too. Or else you get to be the clever one there.

    Part 1

Jon certainly recognizes dangerous competition when he sees it. A shame he's not as clever on the tactics which would help him deal with it: hard work and helpfulness. He's gonna feel a right idiot, when he finds out who Kip's uncle is. I assume Kip hasn't told anyone, and since his mom probably changed her name when she got married, he doesn't have a (famous) Dutch surname to give him away. If Carlos likes them, your ink stories have the best stamp of approval. But the rest of us enjoy them too, ink or no ink.
  19. They're not spiders, but some kind of beetle or other insect (six legs, you know). Nobody seems to have posted this: http://edition.cnn.com/2016/10/24/asia/australia-huntsman-spider-mouse-snack-trnd/index.html

    Chapter 11

Well that was I can't find anything to rant about in this chapter.
  21. Great review PKC: I know we've moved on the the next books, but now I want to go back and read book 5 again.
  22. I'm glad St. John got good legal counsel - and the fact she's a fire-breathing dragon had me I knew Emma would be able to help, and it was great to see his other friends be supportive. I still feel sad about him always putting himself down, now he'll be blaming himself even more for not getting out of the relationship with Dom faster. And I wish he would get some more counseling so he can see that he's basically a nice guy who went through a lot of shit and is fighting a heroic battle to heal, and he needs to be proud of how much he's achieved already. Even though I'd love to see Vange shred Dom in court too, I hope for St. John's sake the idiot's lawyer will see the light and tell him to fucking forget it.
  23. Hi Mark The Fall Anthology (topics Blindsided and The Forgotten) is due on the 28th, but you might be better off checking out the Special Anthology, where all the themes are available.
  24. I agree, they should apologize officially like they did to Turing. I cried when I saw the letter of apology in the museum at Bletchley Park. But the crazy thing is the word Pardon is actually what you use to say sorry in UK, ie when you want to apologize for pushing past someone: "Pardon me?"
