Richard was only a tolerable father when his children were small and he could control them and they admired him. As soon as they began to grow independent, he was probably unable to cope. I find it quite telling he and his wife started quarreling by the time Richie was around ten and he left when his oldest became a teen. The bastard reminds me of the father I'm portraying in my Clueless Camping story (although he never hit his kids). You're nice for trying to find something positive to say about him, Graeme. I'm wondering whether you're trying to prepare us for the story arc of Richie and his father reconciling? I have the feeling quite a few readers will object.

At first, all I could see in the chapter end note was lots of grey space, so I thought Northie had several empty lines. Now I can see a white square in the grey space. Maybe the content of the link box will (magically) appear at some point. Strange.... PS I checked all the older chapters. They all displayed the link box properly.

I'm glad Andy and Eric are bonding over their mutual interest in gardens. It's a topic they can discuss many times, especially if Andy takes Eric on more outings. Pub lunches are good too, not too expensive and usually filling. Sad about Adam's mum, but she needs to tell him and ask him to help her leave her husband. It would be better for all of them, even the nasty bigot. It might be the wake-up call which gets him to admit he's an alcoholic. And if it doesn't, write him off, the sooner the better.

Interesting @Wesley8890 - I was just thinking Richie was softening much too soon. And that his father is still trying to buy him. But I'm glad he's mended his friendship with Gabe, and that Freddy didn't reveal he saw him.

Yeah, it was a little sad, especially for Theo. But at least he had a friend to support him, when he couldn't get hold of Sablo. I'm delighted you liked the conversations, we worked hard on those (with good help from Valkyrie). -
No problem, my friend. I know you'll get there in the end. I'm glad Ayil has redeemed himself in your eyes. He may be strict, but you can't be Top Cupid without having a romantic heart. Not commenting on his future I knew you'd love the sheet thing, it's one of those small details which you do so well in your stories.

OK, this time I'm going to ask more seriously. Where do you get the idea of a new home ? Nathan is staying in the apartment above the bakery where his family has always lived. (As Brian's editor, I want to find out whether I've overlooked something.)

sorry, I can't help chuckling over the complaints. Haven't you noticed most of Brian's chapters are cliff hangers one way or another? I bet that's how he came up with the name for Nathan's ex.

Ohh, giant cats, I like it. And they can keep them warm at night too. They'll probably take turns to go off hunting, while one of them leads the way. It will be interesting to find out who the old man is, and what he knows about the King.

This was an exiting chapter ! I'm glad there were more good beast than nasty monsters. Helping Krol was both kind and clever, since being part of their flock gives good protection - and a griffin wing tent to sleep in. Kieran really needs to learn to pace himself.

If only the King and his counselors would be as reasonable and clever as the group of friends. Then they would realize every attempt at controlling Kieran makes matters worse. They should leave them alone, and maybe just observe them. The guys are still making some very sound decisions. I like the way Mr. B reminded them they need to relax after working hard.

Um, btw - I think Brian and his partner may already be married where they live, and they just need to have the marriage registered and acknowledged in Britain. But I could be wrong. If so, I'm sure they have something better to do on their honey moon than feeding the hungry reader birds here.

I bet Nathan would be more than happy for Grant to take over the bakery. Then he can go with Jaymes to Malaysia, New Zealand etc. (And no, I have not read the end of the story, so I'm allowed make suggestions.)

You're so sensible, I love it. Sablo will never be as romantic as Theo, but he can get rid of his prejudice against cupids and take an interest in the work his lover does. He's already taken the first couple of steps, and Diego will be there to kick his butt if he falters. -
