Tax returns would be so much easier if hubby would just NOT help! Paperwork and math are just NOT his thing.

< hiding from all the barn drama

The whole barn is buzzing this afternoon. Seems more than just my friend heard the hater spout off about me.

That will depend on the owner. With no signs of illness in the last 24 hrs, the only answers would require a necropsy. That is expensive, but she might spring for it. She has money. Nothing is required as it would be in a same case with humans.

As much as I dislike the woman, the horse was sweet. I will miss him.

I am just a tad freaked out about it.

Barn Drama update Last night a horse was mildly colicky. I was asked to come down in anticipation of a trip to the clinic. We sat with the horse till after midnight. Horse is fine today, but karma has taken aim at the haters. As we sat around for 3 hours watching this horse, the owner warned me the haters were talking about me again. She heard one of the haters say, and this is a direct quote, "I would rather my horse die than let Kitt touch him". Befor leaving @ midnight I walked both barns. Just the right thing to do since I was there. All the horses were good and all water buckets were full. Normal night check. I get back to the barn 6 am and the haters horse was found dead in his stall

Well then! 4.8 magnitude earthquake 30 miles from me.

My sentiments exactly.

Good lord! What gives any one person the right to bad mouth people? We have a small group of 4 boarders at the barn I refer to as the haters. They constantly bad mouth other boarders, force their views on others, and generally make life miserable for anyone who does not bow to their opinions. We have one boarder, young and fairly green who made the mistake of buying a very large ( clydesdale) 4 year old mare. Naturally the baby horse has baby horse issues. The Haters launched a campaign to drive the woman out, and have now succeeded. She is taking her 2 horses elsewhere. I had a nice talk with the barn owner this morning. He was aware the lady was leaving but not why. One boarder, 2 horses, loss of $1500 per month. 4 more thinking about someplace more friendly. Another potential $3k loss of income. All because 4 women think the world should revolve around them. And Bossman was largely unaware. Seems no one had the backbone to bring it to him till the haters took aim at me. The haters were in for a rude surprise tho. They don't scare me!

Close it now and you end up keeping her. She is already there. I think she said Naples. Was hard to follow as she was a tad panicky.

Interesting call from one of my customers this afternoon. Momma and kids are in Fla for spring break. Daddy is home (could not get off work) and escape artist pony got out after stable hand went home for the day and is now having a merry game of "can't catch me" with daddy in the pouring rain. Could I go rescue daddy? Daddy finally lured pony back into barn with of all things a bag of corn flakes! Mom called us off as we were approaching my daughter's house, so no wasted miles, had to take Wings home anyway.

Feet? Serviceable things at the end of my legs, too ticklish by half, but do their share to hold me upright. Now, if I could just get my rt knee and left hip to do their share... Is there anything other than politics that is not as long as we are reasonable?

I just wish that gremlin would stop putting rice krispies in my bed after I fall asleep. Makes a hell of a racket when I first roll over in the mornings.

I am not sure which bothers me more, the ones who "express concern" that I am overweight and I should REALLY get on a program, or the ones who actually pay attention to what I do eat then ask why I am fat when I "eat like a bird".

If it's any consolation, I was helping a friend move this weekend. We spent Friday and Saturday hanging fence so we can move her horses. End of day Friday we all wash up and toss muddy clothing into the washer, then sit down to pizza. Dinner was interrupted when water suddenly started spraying all over the mud room. Pipe behind the washer burst.

My mom continued to get Easter goodies for us right up to the year she passed. I was 46 at the time. Towards the end it was a couple creme eggs in a tiny basket.

Container gardening. Keeps mint contained...mostly.

So do I but one egg a year ...

Are the mini's just chocolate or are they creme filled? I get 1 creme egg a year since I was diagnosed with type ll. But somehow I always end up wearing the filling.

Can make flour from lots of things. Have made my own potato flour. Read the other day about zucchini flour being used to reduce white flour use in recipes. Rice flour makes nice noodles. Possibilities are endless when your kitchen has both a dehydrator and a food processor.

Until yesterday morning I would have considered the shorter route on major highways a safer route than back roads that may not be as well maintained, may be too narrow to safely drive a horse trailer, and I am unfamiliar with.
