Csr Book Club Selection: Wrangler Butt's By Reddirtwriter
Ron commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I have been keeping company with Darrin, Mitch and boys. Good to go! -
We all have choices. You made the right one for you and stuck with them. Each of us would be fortunate to make the right choice.

Name your favourite gay movie. What did you like best about it?
Ron replied to Yuki Winchestor's topic in The Lounge
I bought the movie Shelter based on the many recommendations in this thread. I liked it. It was a case of two 'normal' looking believable people falling in love, with all the personal drama that their situation might call for, without exploiting the sexual aspect of it. And, I might add, without making it seem dirty. -
Nice that Sylvester is on your list. I went into my first gay bar two years after #15 came out and they were playing it that night, so I remember that song well. Then Do Ya Wanna Funk was released about a year later.

Well see, this just makes me want to go and listen to them. I bought the box sets, yes two of them, of the remastered stereo and mono recordings when they came out a few years ago. The sound is about as good as you can get on red book CD. You can hear their influence in many modern bands today. Mind you, I was a kid when they were going strong but they manage to please, please me still today.

There you go!

Are you entirely sure it's the part where you tell them you're a shrink?

As far as I am aware, Satan is not a God. So, where is the conflict? I used this tact once, "Are you kidding me! Hahahaha." followed by a shut door in the face. It was effective, if rude, and I was already in a bad mood but it was not as if they were invited, so I didn't feel bad about it until later.

Yeah, congrats to you both. I believe you have to be a resident in Massachusetts where I live. I would think a quick internet search would cough up the answer for you. Good luck and good fortune.

I can hardly believe you wrote that but maybe your answer to who is on top is here.

Prompt 267 – Creative Tag – Time Warp I would much rather go back to 1975 and do the time warp, again.

Zombie is right in that the problem is systemic. It is not going away any time soon either. But I am curious as to why people express such an aversion to Obamacare. It is loosely based on the healthcare system in Massachusetts where you, your grandmother (it appears) and I reside. I am absolutely grateful for the system here, without it my insurance and healthcare cost would be unaffordable. I don't have healthcare through a job or through my partner because he works overseas. So, what is your dislike for Obamacare based upon, W_L? Truly I am sorry to hear about your grandmother's travails and hope she/you are able to work that out.

I prefer this version of a Superman-Batman movie. What do you think are my chances of getting it?

Pheonix, you have been given some great advice from those in your own age group and from those with the experience of age and they've all been understanding and comforting. This can be both good and bad. I could suggest a different tact: somebody needs to look you in the eyes - remind you that you self-identify as gay - give you a good shake- and tell you to get over yourself. Is this what you need? Because one part of me wants to offer comfort but the greater part wants to give you a quick sharp kick to the seat of your pants. I can tell you from experience that we all need this occasionally. '...friendship is born out of time, experience, and the emotional connection that you feel toward another individual ' - this is quoted from the internet and is about as useful as can be in defining a friend. You say that technically you're the same person as when you left Canada and I believe you. As 'John' sounds very much like the people in Canada that you escaped from. Doesn't this sound like you are repeating yourself in the choice of people that you gravitate towards? Perhaps you need to slowly move away from this personality type. Move towards folks who's views are similar to what you would prefer instead of what you already know and are familiar with. You mentioned that you couldn't bring up the 'gay factor' when speaking to someone of authority. This is surprising unless you are attending a very conservative college. It would be unnecessary to identify as gay merely to defend yourself by stating 'John's' bigoted viewpoint caused an argument and the ensuing altercation. You must remind yourself, if you need the courage, that a person doesn't have to be gay to not like it when other people behave in a bigoted manner. It is possible to live in the closet and still function in the world without repressing yourself. Denying yourself the freedom to express your views as an individual, with thoughts and feelings just like anyone else, without shouting to the world, "I'm Gay!", is possible, don't you think. None of us, I would guess that are 'out', walk around telling everyone we meet that we are gay. That would be inadvisable and unsafe no matter where you live. We live our lives walking, talking and breathing on a daily basis without the rest of the world wondering why we do so. You can do this, you can and no one needs to know your business while you do it. So, cheer up - don't announce your sexual preference to the world - and live.

Chapter I: Of Spoiled Fish and Salty Moods
Ron commented on thebrinkoftime's story chapter in Chapter I: Of Spoiled Fish and Salty Moods
Were upsetish, irate, really quite busery - this is the only one that bothered me. Busery could mean Blustery and might have been written blusery or bustery if that is the case and would have made a connection between the people's feelings and the storm outside. Otherwise - when meat is unhappy... goes from zesty to sappy - perfect and truthful, “Bilge water and rumrat! Bless ‘is good soul!” - Love it. Great good fun! -
A lot of fun can be had when learning about a persons past, this was very fun but also quite informative. Jacob learns that he likes his sexual play rough early on in his life. We learn additionally that he pays attention in school, is inquisitive and he is very aware of the people around him. These are traits that we notice later in his life when we read about it. Then you go and throw sausages at us. I laughed like hell, Thorn. It is sad the way poor Oliver looks to Jacob for a boyfriend that he will never find. The examination of this makes for good background but makes me feel sorry for Oliver nonetheless. I am glad when he is given the opportunity and gives voice to his own complaints. Jacob at this point it is easy to see, is very much the same Jacob that we read of in the future. So much is already set in stone.

It's been pointed out and I agree, that this letter is suspect. If the father sent this to his daughter, how on earth did it end up on the web? It isn't plausible that she would post it anywhere. Seems like it could be hoax/fake thing.

I quite liked: Yossi & Jagger - 2002 in Hebrew with subtitles - Romance between two soldiers stationed in an Israeli outpost. Eyes Wide Open - 2009 in Hebrew/Yiddish with subtitles - A married, Orthodox Jewish father of four falls I love with 22 yr old male. Private Romeo - 2011 English - Romeo and Juliet dialogue in an all male military academy setting. Made this Shakespeare play come alive for me. edited: inserted missing word -
If I didn't already have a Halloween story in the works I would take on the werewolves for you. This sounds like so much fun. Good writing to you all. I can't hardly wait to read the stories.

And there we have it. Not only is it do to Ashi's skill that he scored a zero but he also has a calibrated monitor, not an ordinary laptop screen. If your monitor or laptop (very good) screen has great native color or has been calibrated, your test results will likely be higher. This is a no-brainer and one of the first things I thought when I looked at the test. Still, it was fun.
