Just remember - when you keep your head about you when all around you are loosing theirs, perhaps you don't understand the situation. 😉

Wet night overnight and didn't sleep well - joints aren't liking the weather and we have a chance of rain for the next 10 days. Little Miss got up in the middle of the night & threw up some bile, but that's because she didn't eat anything the rest of the day yesterday -- not even her evening meal. And she's not wanting to eat any this morning, even small portions out of my hand. Farmers market sounds good but jalapeno bread and cucumbers don't.
-
Well, that still slows the eating down as the bits of kibble are spread all over.
-
Thanks -- we'll have to look into getting something like that to slow her down.
-
Well the largest dog scarfed down her breakfast then threw up five times so... I've had better starts to the day. She's just started doing this. SP and I think a trip to the vet is in store.
-
Morning everyone - hope the day goes well.

The little slip by Mason at the end of the story is one of my favorite parts of his story arc. Joseph is right - it shows Elias' real feelings toward the closest thing to a real parent he's ever had.

Gormandize - Word of the Day - Wed May 20, 2020
Fae Briona commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
Gourmandise is love of food and based on gourmet Gormandise (without the "u") is based on "gorge" [eat a large amount greedily; fill oneself with food] Similar spellings and pronunciation, but very different meanings. -
Took Friday off, so I'll have a nice 4-day weekend. Unfortunately, it could be storming three of those days. The University won't "reopen to outside visitors until July 7" so we'll be home until then. Some people may start going back in June, but they would prefer those be limited as possible.

It's Monday. Hope everyone has a good week.

This week is the 40th anniversary of the movie Fame. Was too young to watch the movie at the time, but I remember the original -- sanitized -- TV show. Made me remember Gene Anthony Ray, who played Leroy Johnson --- one of the first men I can remember having a crush on (maybe that's why I'm still attracted to darker skinned men). He died of a stroke in 2003 at 41.

Ambulance was next door last night (she has severe seizures). When we woke up this morning the cable-TV / Internet maintenance pylon between my house and the neighbors was in multiple pieces. Thankfully, I'm on Dish -- but I did call it in. Looks like someone backed over it. And it's starting to rain, so hopefully they get it fixed soon before things get more damaged.
-
It was in a collection of short stories, and -- unfortunately -- was one of the books I lost in the house fire. Lost another with a great short story titled, "Tea" with the best quotes ever.
-
This was one of my favorite parts of the original story - was hoping to see it here too.

More storms overnight and tomorrow and the hip is feeling them. Parts of the state this morning had wind speeds of 77mph (124kph); here we only had winds a bit below 40mph. We've seemed to change the storm threat this year from tornadoes to huge hail.

Good luck

I'm reminded of a short story by Mercedes Lackey, but I'm not finding the titile online. It was her commentary on "ministers" like Pastor Rogers. Character got what he deserved in the end. It contained a line at the end along the gist of, "Of course I forgive you for your sins. But you must still be punished for them."

49F here and raining, and won't even reach 60F for the high -- our normal low is higher than that this time of year -- and raining. Cold damp isn't doing well for the joints.
-
A bit late to the party, but Happy Birthday!
-
Only hitting about 40F here, but that's still a record for May -- this after being 15F above normal not too many days ago.
-
Almost 2" of rain last night, with some hail. Glad it's friday, but not ready for the day - older dog woke us up about an hour early to go potty and we didn't get up fast enough to open the door before he let loose in the middle of the living room. For such a small dog he has a HUGE bladder.

My brother got dad moved into his new facility yesterday -- or, more accurately, watched as staff got him moved. Sent me a pic of the room through the window; looks nice from what I could see. Said dad was able to walk [using a walker] from the car to his room, but also asked if he would still be in the Army. 😢 Dad's not been in the Army since the end of WWII. Hoping that by the time SP and I am able to get up there to see him he still remembers who I am. It's been very upsetting and I'm glad to have SP by my side supporting me emotionally through this.

cool and windy this morning, but it's been a nice day so far

Well, this bit if idiocy has now thrust our little town into the national news. <sigh> Mayor was on MSNBC and other members of City Council and the Police Chief have had to have made statements about it.
-
Love all of them, but #3 is my favorite.
