Hope you have a productive day Molly. Contractor showed up just now -- 30 minutes later than he said he was going to after emailing me this morning. Fence panels are still good but the posts (which are treated lumber) are so old they're rotting both from the top down and the bottom up. A large section of the fence technically isn't mine but the neighbors behind me; however, that is a nearly abandoned structure and they won't be fixing it anytime soon, and the two fences are tied together into one structure anyway. That and their section is the worst one and it's fix things or have it fall down completely.

Hopefully going to get my fence repaired -- before it collapses in the next wind storm. But not heard from the contractor in the last couple of days on when he's supposed to be here today.

I think it captures that feeling pretty well --- one I know firsthand.

Several scenes in this one. Love Clay's final understanding that his boy is truly in love. Probably won't stop the over-protective father moments completely, but it's good to see that realization. The scene with Elias and Orson is very emotional, and one of my favorite in the story. Avery -- the innocence of youth, not knowing you "shouldn't" ask some questions; then his immediate distraction by something else.

Cold here today as well, but the wind wasn't as strong as yesterday so that helped -- and I can sympathize with the cold making you ache; not fun.

That's kind of what I was thinking -- that she was worried Chip might have thought of things as more than just fun. You could practically feel her relief when he agreed to a no-strings relationship

Accepting help, not to mention accepting your own limitations, can be a very difficult thing to do; and something I can relate too. It's why I didn't get a handicap placard for my car until about 2-years after I should have. It's why I'm going into work in a bit (after I eat lunch) even though I probably won't make it until 5 and should probably just stay home.

Going to heat up something for lunch and go in to work. I might not last till 5pm, but will hopefully get through email -- which, miraculously, I never looked at last week when on vacation.

Getting a "wintry mix" through noon or a bit after. At the moment it's a bit of heavy rain and sleet. It's dropped 20 F since midnight and will continue to drop through the day. Large portion of the US is getting hit by this cold arctic blast. It was 76 F for the high yesterday afternoon and is already at freezing; and will continue to drop through the low tomorrow morning, which will be near 18 F. Ended up staying home this morning as the joint pain started later than I expected it too.

I remember a comment by a national news anchor-man (though I don't remember which one). He said in the same week he was accused of being both too liberal and too conservative -- he said it made him feel like he was doing his job correctly.

For year's no one in positions of authority really cared enough to figure out what the disease was. It was, as stated by an episode of Designing Women, "Killing All the Right People". It wasn't until it started to spread to the "respectable" part of the population that real action started to take place. I volunteered with friends when the Quilt was displayed in Tulsa in 1993. One of those friends presented his own panel; another presented the panel for a 16th friend -- everyone he had known and had been close too had been taken. It was immensely powerful and emotional experience and I'd go back and do it again.

Cute -- though his comments on how he got his tat made me cringe. -
My father is old enough to still refer to it as Armistice Day -- he fought in "The War". (large age difference between the parents) Have a large number of Uncles and Cousins who have served as well, in everything through WWII to Afghanistan.

Thunderstorms here have stopped - the light rain/snow mix should stop this morning as the wind chill drops. We'll get warmer for Sunday then plummet again on Monday. Week off has been relaxing so far. Tonight may be a bit rough.

Yep - they and eggs are both symbols of reproduction and rebirth; Ostara / Eostra is the most pagan of the xian holidays; they barely even changed the name and just moved the date from the first full moon after the Spring Equinox to the first Sunday after the first full moon. -- though some pre-existing pagan elements were incorporated into all of their appropriated holidays (some not as apparent as others, like Santa's ties to Odin). -

A rabbits foot was not originally for general purpose luck -- it's a fertility charm (for what should be obvious reasons). -
Well, my eyes are watering but I'm sure that's from the spicy garam masala and not the emotion of the chapter. I liked Clay's' internal monologue when fixing the cabin -- gave insight to the guilt he feels not only about hurting Jeremy more than he could have imagined, but also his guilt at "failing" to protect Orson. Orson's feeling of being useless is understandable, but will hopefully pass. He needs to find a new focus for his life. The conversation between Mason and Jeremy was perfect, and extremely emotional. It's one of my favorite scenes in this story. The scars you can't see cut deeper than the ones you can.

Happy New Year - Part II

Was probably CRVBoy. Story may have some issues, but I still think its an enjoyable one. -
Not given out candy yet in this neighborhood (I really should next year) but there's normally quite a few little goblins running about. Turnout depends on how quickly the evening gets cold.

I should have leftovers for supper -- or cook something -- but instead I really want a pizza. Been a good day. Did some random shopping and found some good buys.
