Re-reading this I can remember talking to my boy on election night. C's last words that night were, "I'm terrified" (afraid as both a gay man and a person of Hispanic descent). I didn't ask how much extra crap he had been subjected too -- I knew he wouldn't want to talk about it -- but i know he got some. My best friend still doesn't understand why I felt so upset that she would have voted for Trump.

I might actually have to turn on my heater tomorrow night. The house is pretty well insulated and retains heat pretty good; the thermal blinds help a lot too.

That sounds pretty good. I should make some mini-loaves - not done any in awhile. The 24 hour temperature difference from now to this time yesterday is 22F; we missed the heavy rain and storms; they all popped up just to the East & South of us. Missing the hail is great be we could have used a bit of rain. I actually like the colder temps (just not the sudden drop to get here).

Thank you @mollyhousemouse, it would be worse without the shot from yesterday so I can't complain. And even though wind chills Friday morning will be below freezing, by Monday it will be back up near 80F.

I had some gutter-guards put on earlier this year. So far, they've been working wonderfully. A fine mesh that lets the water through but none of the debris, and they're slanted just enough to let the leaves and twigs slide off -- and they've kept up with the water flow even in really heavy rains. Not too expensive (small house) but definitely worth the cost. More cost efficient than paying someone to come in and clean them out every few months. No way I could get on a ladder to do it myself.

Wind chill Friday morning will be below freezing. I normally start feeling the weather about 24-hours before it hits, so I should make it through ok.

Jeremy reminds me in many ways of James -- but the full story is one I cant tell this evening; too many memories and emotions for me to deal with tonight. One of our other friends in our little group was like Mason -- completely infatuated. James tried to keep him at an emotional distance, but I don't think that really helped things any, especially at the end.

High 70's today (F); won't drop much overnight, then about the same for the high tomorrow --- up until about 1pm, when a very strong cold front moves in that could drop temps by 30F in 3 hours. <bleh> Got a steroid shot yesterday morning that's kept the pain level down to manageable levels so far - it should (I hope) keep working through at least Friday Morning. [It's supposed to last for almost three months, but i'm luck if it lasts for a week; still worth it if it keeps the pain down to a manageable level.]

Feel better soon tim I've managed to avoid all the bugs making their way around the start of this school year -- not easy to do when working on a college campus.

Time got away from me so did a more traditional version, but it was pretty good. I used some plain Greek yogurt for the finish instead of sour cream, which gives it a slightly different flavor.

Sounds fun - I love going through thrift / antique shops. My day has been pretty good. We've missed all the severe storms so far - the afternoon line blew up just to out East - but may get some rain overnight. Just finished cooking and having supper, and getting ready to log off of here and relax on the couch.

Raining some here this morning. Need to quit being lazy, get myself together, and go get groceries. Want to put some beef stroganov in the slow cooker for supper.

As @Kitt has said, you're doing the right thing by getting it checked out. Try to not let the brain get too far ahead of things - something that I know is much easier to say than to do. My step-mother died breast cancer -- from a slow-growing cancer that could have been easily treated if she had gone in to get the lump checked out that she knew was there -- that she knew was there for almost TEN YEARS. Her fear of getting confirmation of what she knew it was led to it spreading into her bones. Cancer in bones is not a nice way to go. 😢 Don't ignore these things people, please. Get them looked at. Will keep you in my thoughts rick

The management company is filing an appeal of the "No" on their short term rental. It will be heard by the full City Council on Monday. I won't be able to be there - things on campus after work I need to attend - but he HOA Pres will be. Dude has still made no attempt to speak with my to ally my concerns; and I have a motion activated video doorbell, so he can't claim to have stopped by when I wasn't at home.
