The idea of someone who does good for their "community" is the common theme I was alluding to. Also, 'you will like' and 'this short story' do not go together in the same sentence
-
This is a very good beginning. Robin Hood indeed. Fits in well with your other stories n'est pas?
-
Yay! Me too. I actually scroll through a lot of the sex scenes. It's not that they are not well written, etc but I like the "stories". Sex can, and does, add to a scene. But a lot of the times it is tiresome cause you wanna see what happens next. They are like interruptions. In regards to, '...how people deal with someone being gay...' - again, there are literally hundreds of stories on this site that deal with that aspect of gay life. I like this alternative. Oh well, good reading anyway...
-
I feel the same way. As long as I understand what you're saying, I am fine with it. It is way more important for me to enjoy what I'm reading. It does happen, but not very often, that trying to read some stories is torturous because you spend most of your time trying to 'interpret' it. So I give up trying. I think it has happened maybe 3 times? By the way, maybe not '...all you want'. I do know what you mean, but this is what we have come to expect/rely on with Jobe. It is how Jobe writes. Jobe likes to leave a part of the story up to our imagination. I don't know if this is a 'tool' to help us be more "involved", etc? Also, hope I am right? This site is full of the type of stories you are describing/asking for. Jobe is giving us something different. Another option. A break from the norm. What is "gay stuff" anyway? What percentage of "gay stuff" has to be in a story on this site to qualify? I like the Jobe's stories as they are e.g. I like that there are no sex scenes, etc. In regards to this chapter itself, everything seems hunky dory right now. Has been so for a while. So, Jim needs a love interest now please. Everyone needs someone to cuddle. Thanks.

Awww...everyone is growing up and moving on. Can you imagine in about 10 years time and more. "Papa Jim" will be surrounded by so many Grand-babies, etc. Well deserved after everything he has done, is doing and will continue to do...

Everything seems to be ticking along quite well. When I used to want to go to the US, that was always one of the things I wanted to do. Go to a real Fair and eat American Fair Food. Not sure my heart, etc could take it but it all looks so OTT that ya just have to try it, no?

Poor Jake. At least he is now in the best place he can be.

Bigger, Bolder, Brighter, Better. Well done to all. Jim has been so lucky with his Parents, Donnie and Denny. Such a good idea to have Donnie and Denny as Partners.

Glad all is well for You and Yours. In regards to this chapter, that was torturous. I understand the concept of fighting for what you want. But the line between that and being annoying and pushy is too slim, for me. If I was Penn I would also not be happy with my Family too. That is so sad about Penn's Forever Home. It was built with such love...

That was a bit rude of the Baker. It hasn't seemed to have effected Jim's business too much and now the Baker doesn't have Jim's business, so there. To Tonyr - I couldn't help it and went to Otara. The Market was not open. So I stayed on the bus and went to Manukau to Westfields. After shopping for a couple of b'day presents I had to get, I consoled myself with a plant-based Salted Caramel Smoothie from Tank. It was yum

Can't send anything without a postal now, can I?

We don't have Thanksgiving in New Zealand. When I was younger, New Years did include a feast but was mainly about partying for the Adults and playing for all the Cousins. My most vivd Christmas Food Memory is about my Aunty Trudi. She used to make Steam Pudding (which you had with custard, cream and ice-cream), but she used to put money in her Pudding. It was awesome, when we were Ferals. We thought we were rich. No. No-one ever swallowed the money. You can't spend it otherwise, so we were all always careful. I must admit though, I think the no. 1 dessert for Christmas when I was a Feral (cause everyone always had it) was trifle. And no. Not the alcoholic one. That was gross. I better stop or I'm likely to go on and on about trifle, which I haven't had for ages now.

Firstly - Noooooooooooooooooooo... Secondly - thanks for the heads up. I didn't even think about Covid. Which I guess is kinda stoopid cause I wear a mask every day on public transport and sometimes in the Mall. Plus, Auckland (where I am) is on Level 2 whilst the rest of the Country is on Level 1. I usually only go to this Market for the stall with the Vegan snacks. About half the Market is fruit and veg and the other half is cheaper goods like clothes, knick knacks, toys, Maori and Pacific Island goods, etc.. The have an 'aisle' or 'corridor' of food trucks and stalls. The food at the Market is the kind you have on a Cheat Day. Not exactly healthy (i.e. at all), but oh so yum. And don't expect to get a good coffee at the Market. Oh well. Something to look forward to I guess.

If I was Jihan and had to go through the Marriage Dance, I would have stayed in the carriage for a while longer. That was terrifying. Especially considering no-one explained before hand what was to happen, what he was to do, what his expected responses were to be, etc. Especially when meeting the Council of Generals. That would have freaked me out big time. Of course it was way awesome as well e.g. the sworn fealty from the Generals, the coup of having Kas's Father their to Officiate, the reaction of the villagers, etc. The visit to Vasia will be interesting. Jihan has Firuz. Kas has already asked the Generals to fortify Vasia to 'protect his Family'. It will also be interesting to see who will accompany Jihan and Shan to Vasia. It would be ideal if Yoru could keep an eye on them from above. Could you just imagine a convocation of eagles flying to Jihan's aid? Could you just imagine if Jihan or Shan were injured in any way? The Commander Of Armies will rain death down on their heads. Did I mention that I loved this story?!?! It is so interesting and excitingly breath-taking and panoramic. I wanted to be at the Marriage Dance so I could witness the spectacle of it all. Yeah, I know. But I really do love this story. It is so, so, so good. Lastly, there are so many reasons why it couldn't work? Just saying, but how about Neith and Firuz then?

I actually read the above chapter a while ago. I can't think of the correct word to explain why my comment is so late. It was a mixture of things e.g. I was so grateful we got a new chapter, I was so grateful at how long the chapter was, I LOVE this story and you do it so very very well, there was so much to take in, etc. I thought I had more time to compose myself, etc before attempting to comment, but then saw a new chapter had dropped already. So the two big things for me in this chapter - 1. why has no-one explained to Jihan what the Marriage Dance was all about, what happens at the Marriage dance, the importance of it, etc? Communication people. Communication. It would have helped with getting him back to the manor quicker for the Dance and helped with his nerves, etc. 2. you know I actually forgot all about Nisa. I really did. Now I find out she is even more evil than I thought. She is not going to stop. Someone will have to make that hard decision. The resulting action of said decision hopefully goes to Firuz. The two tidbits were - 1. it is so cool Shan calls Jihan Papa. Jihan really needed that, especially at that specific moment. 2. I wonder what is going to have to happen for those final walls to come down and for Jihan's love to fly? That will be awesome to see. 3. This is from the last chapter, but I would love to have a 'Yoru' in my life. So, thanks so much for this story. The word 'Epic' is slightly over-used, but it is perfectly descriptive/appropriate in this instance. In my opinion anyway. This, your story, is just Epic in so many ways. I love it, love it, love it. I hope your personal issues, if not fully resolved, are on their way to being so. It has been a Drop Kick Of A Year for so many of us. 2021 needs to be the Holiday/Break Year please. A rest from this year would be greatly appreciated.

They are making me so hungry. Today is Friday in New Zealand. Tomorrow is Otara Market day and I can't wait. DFT here I come! They are all doing so well.
-
Y'all are funny. Thanks for the chuckles. Anyway, why could Paul not go with his Mother if she was leaving? Did he not want to? Was there no room at his Aunt's home?
-
I have mentioned a few foods now as things in your stories prompt my food memories. That works for me. I enjoy relishing in said memories. I'll let you know as things come to me

There were a couple of things with Denny meeting Jim. Donnie advised him twice that Jim was his Boss and Denny should have been a bit more wary about approaching Jim, I think. I know he is still 'green' as in being new to the streets, but he has already been propositioned for sex. The garage was already way more than expected and now it is going to be extended to include accommodation? How big was his college fund considering the Food Truck, Delivery Van, Garage, I assume he pays rent for the land the garage is on, his food costs, proposed extension of the Garage, etc? I've already mentioned how supportive Jim's Parents are, but taking strangers (plural) into your home? That is...I am not sure? Good on them... Just one more thing. I am slightly confused about Paul? So, he is not going to be going to school full time anymore? He is going to work during the day and do a type of night school? Can't wait for the next chapter

I really like Jim. He is awesome. I love food trucks/stalls, etc. The food is usually A-May-Zing! I'm hungry. I think you've 'talked' me into going to my fav food stall at the Otara Market this Saturday. Deep Fried Tofu here I come. They have other things but DFT is my abso-fav!
-
There is a sort of saying in New Zealand that applies here, "Go You Good Thing!" Love how supportive Jim's Parents are and how it has rubbed off on him. Donnie will end up being a treasure I am sure. The full Lunch idea is such a good one. They are going to do so well...

It is a well known fact - coffee cures everything e.g. just had a long black after the gym cause my body was saying things like, "...you do remember how old you are, right?", "...who are you kidding?" and "...oh hell no!" and things like that. Said long black worked like a charm. Go Mum. Mums are the best. Love how Jim picked up the idea then went with it. Loved his research and how driven he seems to be.

Looking forward to this one was I...

With the state of the world these days, what is weird anyway?

I had to laugh at myself. That makes sense now. Thanks
