Thank you! Yes, unfortunately people today are judged guilty until proven innocent, and even then, no one cares when the wrongly accused are vindicated. I'm glad you'd like to read more about them.

I wondered if anyone would make the connection It is, indeed, the Josh you love to hate Thank you for the kind words. Patrick was accused once. Danny stood by him initially, but then decided he didn't want guilt by association. Sorry that was unclear. It's totally understandable for parents to protect their children. I wanted a positive ending... at least as positive as one can have in this situation. Thanks for your comments.

I think this ending is the least rushed of the three stories you've posted. Something to consider is the order you present the information. It sounds like Kyle is being interrogated right after the incident, then we're told about Jake's cause of death and some of the police's conclusions. It takes time to have the autopsy performed, determine cause of death, and draw conclusions about what happened. So to me, it makes more sense to include that later in the epilogue, after the interrogation. That said, I feel like everything was wrapped up and I'm not left with questions. I'm relieved Kyle made it out ok. Thanks for sharing your work with us

It's still muggy here and quite windy. We got some thunderstorms last night, but thankfully nothing like the one last week. The temps have dropped quite a bit, so it's quite nice despite the mugginess and wind. I got up early and went grocery shopping. I managed to score some disinfectant wipes. It's the first time I've seen them on the shelves since the pandemic started! I plan to do some baking today, and also take some more pictures. I'm also ready to start Chapter 4 of my new story.
