    Casey

My first thought is that the nightly visitor is an incubus, but I'll have to see as the story unfolds. I'm definitely intrigued.

    Fog and Squall

Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked them.

    Fog and Squall

Thanks for the kind words and for your help with these.
  5. You will most definitely feel all the emotions... Mann Rambling's story is another memorable one:
  6. Fog Amorphous clouds turn corporeal, Loki laughs as he dances through bare branches Leaving no mark on Fall’s sodden detritus, Thawed by false Spring. Squall Snow unpredicted Blows tornadic swirls Slows miles to inches Throws cars in ditches.

    Chapter 17

  8. You've always been such a great supporter of my Christmas Contest story Thanks for the shout-out. And thanks for featuring the Advent Calendar, Cia. Cole Matthews, Aditus, and I had a wonderful time compiling all the doors. We're delighted that so many people enjoyed it as well.

    Expectations

They might not have had the best start, but there's hope for them, I think. The difference in their worlds, both physical and generational is gaping wide, but can be bridged if they're both willing to make the effort. It's good that Andy is thinking of Eric's needs beyond just visiting. So maybe he can help with some of the upkeep that Eric can't do anymore. I hope they don't simply give up on each other. I don't think they will because then we wouldn't have a story. This is very well-written. I can picture everything clearly and feel the emotions of the two men. Nice job.

    Chapter 24

Thanks for reading and commenting. Daniel is very good at his job, so we'll see what the future holds.
  11. Where were these when I was taking biology and chemistry? They are quintessential Parker. Brilliant, as always. I chuckled at the line about spelling.
  12. So many gems here. I highly recommend Viv's stories. I'm pretty sure I've read some of these others, but will add them to my ever-growing list.
  13. It's absolutely cheating. Defiance explained it perfectly. Those "advisors" should be reported.

    Caesura

Aditus is still undergoing treatment for AML. It will be a few months yet before he will be ready to resume posting. He thanks everyone for their support and interest in this story. I know he's eager to get back to it.
  15. Thanks so much. I do have an idea for a continuation... I just need to find time to write it. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment.

    Chapter 24

Thanks Chapter 25 will be posted as soon as I get it back from my editor. I'm glad you like it and thanks for commenting!
  17. Well said, Steve, and thank you. I'm reminded of one of my favorite Dowager Countess quotes from "Downton Abbey": "Vulgarity is no substitute for wit." Why anyone would jeopardize the site is beyond me.
  18. Well, I'm hooked, especially after reading Louis' comments.

    Walking the Line

Thank you so much. I agree with you about sexuality being on a spectrum. I don't understand the grief that bisexual people have to go through and how some people deny its very existence. Why is it so hard to understand liking both? And why does it have to be defined? Can't two people just fall in love? Thanks for taking the time to comment. And thanks for all the 'likes' on my stories. I've really enjoyed seeing them.

    Chapter 10

Like Parker, I was also struck by the first line. I get the impression that the infidelity works both ways in this poem. The maligned hubris of lovemaking stood out to me also. Plus grasping at straws... perhaps it's the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. The last line is quite powerful too. Bring in the jackhammers... there's going to be a lot of deconstructing going on. I wonder if there will be rebuilding also?

Like Puppi said, we never truly know what's going on in another person's head. This is heart-wrenching. You pack a lot in such a short story. Nicely done.
  23. I like the cooking analogy. Telling is fast food, while showing is more upscale. This article illustrates the difference quite nicely.

    Given a Chance

This really got to me. It's quite easy to get stuck in complacency and the status quo. Taking a step outside that box can be quite a daunting task, but it's nice to see Eric taking that chance, especially at his age. I like stories that make me think and this one is doing just that. The elderly are so often overlooked and face cuts when they're already living on the bare minimum. It doesn't seem right. Well done, Northie. I look forward to when the two men meet.
