  1. Mine aren't usually that cute
  2. I've edited out a lot of exclamation points from stories, not just @Aditus so you are very much not alone! (exclamation point )
  3. I don't think medical professionals are cognizant of the stress waiting a week for results like that place on people. I've been waiting six months to see a specialist for insight on 'inconclusive' results. He has a three-month-long wait to get a freaking appointment, and the one I had in January was the day we got over two feet of snow. So the rescheduled appointment was another three month wait I'll keep my fingers crossed for good news for you. At least the writing course sounds like fun.

    Leprechaun Magic

Great little story! Absolutely perfect for St. Patrick's Day! You packed a lot into such a short story, but it didn't feel rushed. I had a feeling about the ending when there was such a reaction to Cian and Finn's night of passion. I really enjoyed this. ☘️
  5. Now I have "Conjunction Junction" stuck in my head
  6. St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner. Settle in with a pint (or three) of Guinness, put on some green, and get to writing! We could end up with some pretty interesting prompt responses, and you don’t have to be Irish to participate, since everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. PT Prompt #29 - creative Write a short story from the POV of a leprechaun. PT Prompt #30 – creative It’s midnight on St. Patrick’s Day, and you’re on your way home after a night of drinking. On the way you stumble into a door with the following sign: Over the Rainbow – Open the door to a whole new world! What do you find when you open the door? We’ve had a few takers of prompts lately. Aditus’ PT Prompt #27 proved to be popular: https://gayauthors.org/story/mawgrim/mawgrims-prompts/5 https://gayauthors.org/story/astone2292/rocky-prompts-tennessee/7 https://gayauthors.org/story/bill-w/my-prompt-stories/1 We apologize for being remiss about posting the threads in the prompt section of the Writer’s Club. We’ll get that fixed as soon as possible.
  7. I'll do my best to check it out before the end of the month.
  8. We've been remiss about creating threads for prompt stories in the Writer's Club, but we'll get those added soon. Like Addy said, post the story with your other stories or as part of a collection. Stories under 1k words should be posted as part of a collection, but since you're above that, you're fine to post it as a stand-alone. We encourage people to post a link to their story in the appropriate prompt thread, so people know where to find prompt responses and for us to feature occasionally as part of the blog.
  9. I love these guys! Definitely virtuosos.
  10. We're in the March roller coaster of weather here.
  11. I really like both of these. A good friend of mine in high school and I used to write stories together all the time. We'd each have our own characters and then just start writing without discussing anything ahead of time. We would write a sentence, paragraph, page, whatever seemed to fit, then hand it over to whomever was next. It was a lot of fun. I still have our notebooks and pages of loose leaf paper we wrote them on.
  12. Thor definitely does not approve
  13. Great excerpt! Now I really want to know more. I'm disappointed there's no interview, as I really look forward to reading them, but this excerpt was a good substitute.
  14. OMG Bob and Doug McKenzie Thanks for the blast from the past, ya hoser
  15. Tell that to little Susie and her service alligator And Jedi cats are completely plausible!
  16. My army is totally plausible
  17. It's a Federal holiday on Monday in the US too. President's Day. I don't have the day off, though.
  18. February is Black History Month in the US. It is a time when we celebrate the achievements of African Americans and honor their struggles and triumphs in US history. Black History Month started in February 1926 as “Negro History Week” by Carter G. Woodson – a historian who helped establish the field of African American studies. It has since been expanded to include the entire month of February and is now celebrated in many other countries besides the US. Here are two prompts in honor of Black History Month. PT Prompt #24 - Technical Write a historical dialogue. Imagine a conversation between yourself and a significant Black historical figure. What questions would each of you ask? PT Prompt #25 What would it have been like to be present at the emancipation proclamation speech? Take the perspective of a white abolitionist and/or a Black slave.
  19. This is a great collection of stories. I think Jager by Cole Matthews is one of the best stories on the site.
  20. I really want someone to tackle #22
  21. And it's not just you A thousand times this! I always say the character is doing the action, not starting it. IMO the only acceptable use of 'starting' an action is if it's interrupted or stopped. Then the word "start" actually serves a purpose vs being a filler word.
