  1. I don't think my approach to writing has changed too much since I started. With anthology stories, I tend to think about exploring/answering questions that pop into my mind... like what happens if we're reincarnated or how would someone handle a false accusation. I've written a couple of short stories because of readers' requests, but for the most part, I write what I want. If I tried to write something just to feed a trend, then I think that would show in the writing.
  2. Especially when looking in a mirror

    Woodland Walk

I enjoyed this walk a lot, particularly the bird-like chipmunk.
  7. I had a nice day yesterday with my mom. This is the first time in years that she's actually wanted to do something on Mother's Day. I went over to her house and I cooked dinner. We had pork chops, and she had rice, while I had Brussels sprouts. We watched The Wizard of Oz and talked to my brother on the phone. Today, I have to run some errands and I also have a doctor appointment. Fun times.
  8. A perfect adjective for the putrid one @Zombie
  9. The scariest ride I've ever been on was at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio ages ago. I don't remember the exact name, but I think it was something like "Devil's Drop". We were strapped in, then ascended a ridiculous height before being dropped in a free-fall. I remember screaming my lungs out, and I think the profanity I spewed may have punched a hole in the ozone layer over Ohio... We had nothing like it at any of the amusement parks in my area at the time, so it was something new to try. And subsequently avoid.
  10. The PA who took care of her was kind of cute
  11. I played games on my new phone, texted with friends, and walked around the hospital grounds. It was a beautiful day out.
  12. Well today was a bit of an adventure. My mom texted me first thing this morning to ask if might be free to take her to an appointment today. So I said yes. Well, on Monday, she swallowed a pill wrong and it caused some damage in her throat, making it painful to swallow. The GI doc was scheduling out to July/August So her primary told her to go to the ER. We waited over three freaking hours to be seen I had to wait outside because they wouldn't allow visitors in the waiting room. I was finally able to go in once she got a room. They gave her some meds to relax her throat muscles and another GI referral. The meds seemed to help, thank goodness. We were there for 7 freaking hours for this. At least it wasn't worse though, and I had nothing else planned for today, so it all worked out.
  13. The heart is me sending love to you. I'm so sorry for the diagnosis, but I'm glad they've caught it early and can remove it. The surgery sucks, but if it makes you cancer-free, then it's worth it.
  14. Oh hell yeah... love me some salt and pepper
  15. Good luck today! Fingers crossed and well-wishes for good news

    Coda

I always pay attention to the safety presentations. Your depictions of the drive in NY are spot on. I was right there in the vehicle with him, weaving through traffic and trying not to get carsick I will never drive in NYC... nope nope nohow never ever I love the descriptions of the music. They bring it to life in a way that makes me hear it and picture it at the same time. Bravo! It sounds like everything worked out perfectly. I'm glad Marta got away from her parents and found her way back to Jed. Too bad Heinrich Sr never accepted Rick for who he is. I'm glad Rick and Gus got their HEA. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story with us!
  17. My mom went gray in her 20s. Her hair is totally white now.
  18. Hairdressers have been open for a while here. I just need to actually make an appointment. It hasn't been a priority, but I think I need to make it one lol
  19. Well, it's not totally gray, but enough to notice lol
