  1. All authors need to recharge the level of angst to let it out in our stories...hope you've recharged on the angst and don't get any more though!
  2. Big Happy Birthday wishes to the wonderful author of Behind Those Eyes...
  3. I'll put him in a chapter off Service with a particularly hungry Jarred.
  4. Master and Margarita is on my list, as is Eugene Onegin and Boris Godunov, both of the last by Pushkin. For Poetry...well I had to memorize a lot of Russian poems in studying Russian so I know more of them. My favorite were by Gavrila Romanovich Derzhavin. Try Monument or Current of Time's River...I love both of them and can still recite good portions of them. http://max.mmlc.northwestern.edu/~mdenner/...e/derzhavin.htm Hmmm...now I need to find my old poetry book...somewhere in the back of it is a translation of the old hymnal "Amazing Grace" into Russian...
  5. *sigh* A true Evil Overlord kills the hero, takes his younger brothers and raises them in his home, besotting them with wine and sexual pleasures, and then training them to help rule over the lesser beings of my evil empire. The younger sisters get married off to handsome young troopers in my evil legions who rise up to be officers, giving their wives social status and fun... Then my spies watch them day after day until someone tries to contact them and get them to join the resistance. That will lead me to the Resistance...and I can clean house again.
  6. My first gay pride parada was in 1993, San Francisco. It still went the old way from City Hall to Moscone Center instead of from Moscone to City Hall. The only restaurant in Moscone Center that was still open at the time was a Carls Jr. Not exactly the pro-gayest of companies. So what did people do? At the doors were groups of guys and gals who had pink triangle stamps...and they were stamping a pink triangle on everyone's money as they walked in the door...a sign to Carl's Jr. how much the gay community contributed to their business that day...

I'm being grossed out here...although...have I ever mentioned the bicycle officer who I met in the break room at a previous job? Yummy It was a great lunch.
  10. Sheesh guys.... Okay, I make acrobat PDF files 5-10 times a day on a slow day, my record being 74 times in one day. Dave, got to www.adobe.com Sign up for a free account. I believe you can make 5 PDF files for free online. If not, give me a PM and my account still has three PDF for free from the online service. Otherwise, send me your thesis, and the fonts needed for it (chinese characters, etc). I'll install the fonts, burn the pdf and send it back to you in an hour. Be sure to include any special formatting requirements for the university's system...
  11. Best Wishes on a very Happy Day!
  12. http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=3&id=34861 The link above is to an article in the Sci Fi Wire magazine about the upcoming X-Men 3 movie. Now, growing up I always thought the X-Men story had a lot of relevance to being gay...and still do today. However, I think this movie, now, can really make an impact, just as much as Brokeback Mountain did, and without the stigma of being a 'gay' movie attached to it. I plan to go see it...how about y'all?

United 93 - Go see it

That was actually a smart thing to do...hmmm...I'll probably go buy it when it comes out on DVD...I don't see too many opportunities coming up to have the time to watch a movie...Robert and I haven't even watched the last two West Wings or 24's.

United 93 - Go see it

Unfortunately, the people still responsible for that event, Osama and his group, are still at large, not yet caught by our military and intelligence forces. It'll be interesting to see how they treat Mark Bingham's role in the events of that day as well...
  15. Dude, you know...like putting all the stereotypical answers aside...pick a third girl, kiss her in front of them both, sit back and watch the fireworks. (or if you really want to be brave...use the bi guy down the hall for that). Sheesh, sounds almost as bad as August (girl who chased me in the 10th grade and even went so far as to claim I'd gotten her pregnant when I'd never even had sex with her, just to get me in the sack with her.).
  16. PrickNick sounds good
  17. All good looking guys should wear snug-fitting pants. As for waiters...keep going to that restaurant and keep trying to get Cody as your waiter. Then find out when he gets off work through casual conversation, and be sure to come in near enough to the end of one of his shifts so he gets off work about the time you get done with dinner... Not that I have EVER done something like that...I just had friends and roomates who did that...yep...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
  18. Mosquito bites me Mosquito dies I rarely get bit.
  19. Happy Sweet 16 ! Enjoy it while it lasts!
  20. I realized when I looked at it that I'd read it before...and enjoyed it even though it wasn't finished. Then again, well...let's not get into unfinished stories...at least not until I finish a few of mine
  21. I wonder who Sparrow is referring to?

    A sad pre-Easter tale

Don't kill me for this...but um...four cats must eat a lot of food...you could have saved on your food bill... OUCH! That HURT! Nature is cruel...unfortunately...humanity is crueler.
  23. Give me a hug or I'll cut your arteries? Hmmm... Um just hug him....and see if his creep down towards your butt...
  24. That's it...get his IP and ban him... 33 is not old. (so says the guy at 35). Now 41 is old (boyfriend is 40). Better yet...show up at his 30th birthday party and laugh.

    tapped out.

Like Modesto's any different. Look at this group that I am a member of on Facebook.com: You belong to this group because: orchard parties are fun cruising down McHenry is what you do when you get your license 99 is the only freeway Vintage Faire Mall...it is the "best" and closest place to shop it's not unusual to see motorized wheelchairs in the driving lanes you wake up to the fresh smell of fertilizer Southside Modesto is little TJ half your high school attends MJC or Stan State or did they even graduate? you know all about the Laci Peterson trial you hate Gary Condit the smoking and drinking habits start by the age of 14...or if not already Concert in the Park is the place to go in the summer iceblocking is fun curfew at midnight is enforced by the police drunk driving checkpoints are everywhere Riverbank is THE city of action you or most of your friends played water polo or soccer rice rockets are everywhere...damn noisy cars... confederate flags are flown on trucks taco trucks are good it is not norcal, it is called the central valley bitch scurfing aka canal surfing is the coolest the lake is our beach Hella/Hecka...yeah we say it.... IF YOU LIVE/LIVED IN THE 209 aka Modesto or surrounding areas, JOIN! I mean, CANAL SURFING? Um, let's see: I LOVE the concert in the park... Does Drinking on the way to Junior High School count? Riverbank...urgh...it's the city of action alright...but not the kind of action parents like to hear about. taco trucks aren't good...they're GREAT! What the hell is wrong with scurfing? That frog has it all wrong (unless you've lived in Modesto, you probably don't know what the frog is...) You've got a hecka hella lot of nerve dissing Modesto... I'll have you know Gary Condit lived down the street from my grandparents...he's a good man...and a big slut like most of Modesto. We all know we like to sleep around...and so we're vicious when one of us gets caught. What's wrong with confederate flags? Most of the boys flying them are cute in a grungy way... Don't knock MJC or Turkey Tech...I graduated from MJC ya know... Downey RULES Um, yeah, I cruised down McHenry when I turned 16 and got my license...your point is? Um, how many towns get Movies made about their cruising habits and then celebrate the movie every June (American Graffiti for all the ignoramuses out there) Vintage Faire just isn't the same without the 70's era decor...however when I was in there the other week they A&F store had a real model in the front...woohoo...camera phone out and pictures galore! Orchard parties...first time I got laid with a girl was at an orchard party. I did it with her boyfriend the next week at another orchard party (like I said...Modesto is full of sluts...it's okay to admit it...just don't get caught) Curfew...you just have to know how to dodge the cops...failing that...forge a note from your parents authorizing you to be out... Drunk Driving Road Blocks...well Modesto's one of those towns where it doesn't surprise a kid to get a call from the police to come pick up their mother because she was caught driving drunk... Beyer sucks, Downey Rules! (was just down there last night doing shopping at the Safeway...it's weird, every time I go in there I remember it use to be a theater and was where I watched Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (plus a heck of a lot of other movies). Festival Cinemas was where we watched the original Star Wars movies... Dude, like don't forget to visit the McHenry Mansion Museum...it's wickedly boring.
