Denise is full of surprises! Her suggestion about the living arrangements is spot on! It makes sense all around! Still, a mother with a strong personality will always be that way. She does truly have Brian's welfare foremost in her concern which she has extended to Gordon, Toby, and now, Russ! She is concerned about Jasper (as are all of us readers!) and worries he might still be a major threat to Toby. A wonderful chapter, @Robert Hugill.

Aaron is being the gatekeeper so far and allowing the relationship to deepen before taking it further physically, which is a very smart move. They have to deal with all the questions and issues before that consummation. And now...the meeting with Harry! Lots to cover there!

Another Sleepover and a Sleep-out
pvtguy commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Another Sleepover and a Sleep-out
Reminds me of when my son was 5 years old. I was in our family room in the basement of the home and heard my son's mother bringing him downstairs after he had awakened from his nap. She was saying, "You'll need to ask your father about that." He progressed to ask me why his pee pee was always up after he woke up. I simply said, "Just be thankful...there'll be a day that you pray for that!" He still reminds me of that years later!- 36 comments

Brad may not need to masturbate in the shower - or only this once. Methinks Alexander's mask is hiding his attraction to Brad! His ability to cut to the core is also a way to deflect attention on his true nature. It's funny how reunions bring out old insecurities and feelings! I do have the feeling that we are going to be led on a twisty path with @Laura S. Fox, and it will be exciting!

Matt gets an offer & Kjell is annoyed
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Matt gets an offer & Kjell is annoyed
Vince is thawing more and more with each chapter! I do hope he can help Kjell to advance beyond Neanderthal emotionally/morally. -
Aaron does need to be fully open to Tony, not that it was Tony's fault for how he reacted. Still, the Aaron that Tony sees now is, hopefully, a much stronger version due to having gone through that rough patch. The dinner sounds absolutely scrumptious! The shrimp I just age were not king prawns done on the barbie, but would love to taste some! I also enjoyed the lesson on how to write a story!

An Overnight, a Phone Call, and Assholes
pvtguy commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in An Overnight, a Phone Call, and Assholes
Leon's response to the bullies were actually in equal measure to what could have happened to Stephen. I do agree that Leon, Sr, needs to meet with the police and alert them to what's happening. Forewarned is indeed forearmed!- 31 comments

He Was My Bully. Now I’m At His Hotel Door
pvtguy commented on StoriesByTroy's story chapter in He Was My Bully. Now I’m At His Hotel Door
Wes still has a control over Noah - thus, Noah shows up at his room. Let's see if they become equals.... -
I do understand Toby's reluctance to discuss even more personal things with B&G: even though I never limited discussions about anything with my son as he was growing up, and he did discuss more things with me than his friends did with their parents - their observation, not mine - it wasn't until he was into adulthood that he finally felt comfortable to discuss the more personal activities in which he was engaged. Toby said it best: there were some things about his Dad and Gordon that he was happy not knowing. I really enjoyed the whole tenor of this chapter: we get to see Toby and Noah through their eyes.

I am really enjoying this line of stories! It certainly answers the age-old query about if walls or furniture could talk!

The Dark Side of Jamie Vayne
pvtguy commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in The Dark Side of Jamie Vayne
It sounds very plausible that Wen has had personal experience with Jamie, but that might be too neat. I believe that there is something more nefarious regarding Wen (or at least, I hope so!). You are definitely keeping our attention, @Laura S. Fox!! -
All can't go totally smoothly for Tony: however, that doesn't mean he can't overcome whatever challenges are bound to arise. Dinner sounds delicious. Methinks the gang will be pleasantly surprised! I like the workings of the author brain: living with the characters and the plots while having other sets of eyes reviewing the work make for wonderful stories!

More Legalese, and Back To the Boys
pvtguy commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in More Legalese, and Back To the Boys
Jeff is fortunate that his father is a lawyer and has connections which befitted him. How many youth don't have that same break? The parents are very progressive and accepting in their attitudes, but Michael's mother is a great "teacher"/advocate for other parents.- 36 comments

Gray is busy & Vince is more open
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Gray is busy & Vince is more open
Macdonald Philpott may have been a less than stellar father, but it appears he is at least partially responsible for having raised two fine sons, even if their better qualities have developed in defiance of their father. Isn't this the way most people develop: it's either because of or in spite of someone or some situation. Vince and Gray have become more compassionate, empathetic, and involved in humane pursuits. Gray's taking over part of his father's study to store his poetry books is just a step to totally revamp that room. And the future plans that Vince shares brings warmth and humanity to the Philpott holdings, thus putting "father" to final rest! -
Very pleasant day but too short a chapter, in my humble opinion, lol. It continues to whet my appetite for more! Well done!

"The Quiet Ache Of Autumn"
pvtguy commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in "The Quiet Ache Of Autumn"
What study in Abnormal Psych! Profound in its depth, superbly written. -
(Jasper) was obsessed with the boy being queer and determined to catch him ‘at it’.” “Whatever that means.” “Well, Jasper sure knew what he meant. And I didn’t like it, one bit. I’ll say this, Bri. I might have trouble accepting Toby likes doing that at his age. But I sure as fuck won’t have anyone saying horrible things like that about him, saying that all queers deserve...” She ground to a halt and sniffed. My suspicious mind is working overtime, possibly. What if Jasper was involved in moving human traffic? Was what Toby "deserved" in his sight was to be sold off to child sex slavery?
-
These few arrests might well lead to further investigation and arrests, as these are surely not the only people involved, but the tip of the proverbial iceberg. I don't remember how long it had been since Daniel and Josh had seen one another; hence, the failure to recognize each other.

Jasper was just a "little bit criminal" in Deidre's sight originally. Thus, she didn't fully appreciate what he was doing. Blinded by lust, perhaps? She sounds as though she's pursuing another guy already in any case. Toby seems to have a realistic appraisal of his mother but knows that his true security comes from his dad. I'm also impressed by the relationship between Bri and Deidre: there does seem to be mutual respect and appreciation, a rare commodity between many divorced couples!
-
I can't add any more to the positive statements already posted in terms of substance of the chapter. I would second, however, what @centexhairysub noted: having someone read out loud a passage or a story brings out a dimension that might well be missed in silent reading. Your writing, @Mark Ponyboy Peters, has the ability to place the reader in the scene as both observer and participant.

Party time at Philpott Towers
pvtguy commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Party time at Philpott Towers
Vince is getting more comfortable being himself! Gray realizes there's a lot more to learn about his brother. The party was a comfortable success. I can only imagine the throws: I doubt they will be put away or replaced as that would require someone to actually take interest in decorating, but the will be just a part of the decor. -
Bunny has a choice to make: fully reveal himself and what his brother is doing, or let Jamie be smeared by LiveFeed.
-
I look forward to the discussion after he finishes this part of his presentation. There very well could be a challenge as suggested by @Philippe, which would provide an opportunity to point out differences in mind sets. With the changes in the town since he left, I would imagine that any challenge like that would be quickly attacked by others in the group. Wonderful chapter!
