@weinerdog wonders: I'm not sure if a family gathering like this is the best place for Bryan to talk to Gray's Dad. Perhaps it is a good place to start. After all, the family is well aware of the situation. This can turn into a true family affair. Great chapter!!!

Robert Hugill can craft a story! In this one, we find a man who has been betrayed by his wife and is able to rise from the challenges and maintain a positive environment with his son while at the same time forging a new relationship with a widowed friend and his son. Together, they form a wonderful family unit and support each other through the challenges caused by the betrayal of the wife. It is a remarkable story of growth, redemption, and allowing truth to self to finally shine through.

Jackie may have thought Arthur "boring", but he brought stability and joy into Ludo's life - more than she did! Ludo would have lived his life of "quiet desperation" per Thoreau had it not been for Jackie's pursuit of excitement with Andreas, but this also was the seed event that led Ludo to break that mold. Damian has truly been a consistent source of joy, curiosity, and love of Ludo! Thanks for sharing this story. I, too, hope to run across these characters again!

1. We sometimes have to pause and forget the angst of life, realizing we have things to do in the time ahead. Beautifully written. 2. As a retired educator, I have many reminders of former students who stood out to me. That we remember those who have touched us in many ways is to honor their memory even while wondering "what if" or "what has become of them?" 3. Building a "nest" that protects us from the elements is to find a place of respite. In these days where more are forced into homelessness, my thoughts are focused on the hope that they may find rest.

I hope the positive things happening in Gray's life help push away the fears and negative thoughts he holds about himself. He's accepted in his family, he has a wonderful boyfriend, he has an awesome brother and great support at work!

Ah, the secrets that Mike holds.... Hope it tames, or better yet, contains the Animal! Things are getting better and better for Gray and Raffa!

Apparently, Olly is oblivious to what worried Gray so much. He is definitely delightful! Things are looking up for Gray at work with the promotion coming sooner than he imagined. Now to find out what Mike meant....

So...we don't get to perv on the extracurricular activities with Graham, but then again, that's not the focus, is it? I do believe that Jackie will find her relationship with Damian to weaken as the years pass due to her own actions and regardless of how long she is sentenced to prison. The vacation gives them time to relax and get away from the ongoing tension at home. While I hate to leave this story, as I do all wonderful stories, you have very adequately described the effect of poor decisions by one parent on not only her son, but also the work of moving on. Well done, @Robert Hugill! -
The threads are starting to pull together: Th various agencies are working together to dismantle the Deck and rescue the boys that they can; Liberty Academy is becoming a reality; Don DeLuca and Mr Motts will provide some solid financing; adoptions are taking place; and Roger is healing along with the boys! What a wonderfully powerful chapter which leaves me longing for the next one!!!

I have just binged this story to this point! I don't think we know the full story about Josh yet: what was he referring to when he first met Jords and Cam when he said (and Jords heard) that he wouldn't have to worry about doing what others wanted from him? He's run away and had no money - had he already been "used" for money? Was he raped? I love the quick but intense relationship that has developed between Jordan and Cameron. This is a very good story!

Dad is confronting his own baggage and knows he needs to talk with someone before talking with his wife. Smart move! At least he has opened a channel of communication with Gray! Hopefully, Oli will laugh it off if he even mentions it to Gray. @akascrubber is correct - it is homones and dreams, not any real desire for incest!

@akascrubber - I think it is Bunny who is ass up over Jamie, not vice versa. Jamie is very self-aware in so many ways. Bunny may well be starting to question his relationship with his brother and father.

The focused attempt to make nudity natural for the kids is very good and knowing when to be clothed is as beneficial. As said above, the overall relaxing theme of this chapter was needed by all of them! We learned that Hansi did not benefit from her husband's stupidity, just as Ludo did not from Jackie's . And now...on to dinner with Marcus... -
How you manage to make each chapter even more powerful is a tribute to your talent, @empath! A new "family" is being formed which will be the foundation on which growth of each individual can find solid support. Daniel and Juan will be forming their own family too! What a wonderful story!

As you've demonstrated in this story, @Robert Hugill, "breaking free" is an on-going process of reflection, confronting held beliefs, and moving forward. Thankfully, Ralph had the support of friends, Nolan, and his daughters, as well as his ex-wife eventually. I do agree: Therese also is in the process of breaking free, amazingly supported by her catty friends. I do encourage more stories so that the questions/scenarios you mention, can be addressed and we can continue to enjoy these delightful characters.

Thankfully, I have not gained 30 lbs vicariously in reading about all the delicious foods you have described! Looking forward to the next installment!

And now we have another thread in this tale you are weaving. Arturo may well learn that he is not alone any more. Talk about PTSD! There is a lot of work to be done with all these "brothers" as indicated by Thomas' and Qian's breakdowns. Travis now realizes he has a new purpose. Another excellent chapter!

First off - Grayson! You are not supposed to drive when you take pain medication! However, it was necessary and all is good. Dad definitely needs to get some professional assistance, but I'm sure he will work through this. Gray's life is getting better with the support he is receiving...and will receive from Raffa!
