  1. Only a couple of days to go.. So, anyone have any questions?
  2. Howdy, Goat! I should hope that your Goathood is coming along very well! After all, you have been practicing it for 56 years! Happy Birthday, my friend. CJ
  3. Happy Birthday Conner!!!!! :king: Have a great Birthday!!!! :king:
  4. Thanks DK! Drat! And double drat! I've got this really persistent Mesquite bush that's growing in my driveway, that I've tried to get rid of for months. I was going to post some really nasty things about it, but now I can't. Hi Bob! Thanks! Have you heard the latest from China? They not only insist that the "solution" to Iran's nuclear program be peaceful, but they also ruled out economic sanctions. (they don't bother to say what they think should be done, but if it's not military or economic, there isn't a lot left!). What this means is that the UN route, as I unfortunately thought, is a dead end. This is looking more and more like it will be left up to the US or Israel to take care of, as I doubt the EU will do much without the now-impossible UN approval, and they don't have much in the way of long-range precision-strike abilities anyway. I don't like the look of the way this is going, at all.
  5. This means that I might have two chapters to read when I get back from vacation! Thank you DK!! I'm really wondering what is going to happen next. So many unanswered questions: Where was that Currier ship going? If it was carrying the head of the Pirates (The MX 11 clone) then something is definitely up. Where is their base? I suspect it's one of the "bolt holes" of the great houses. Tremere's would be my guess. We now also know that the Pirates were targeting Garret specifically. That means they probably have agents on his ships (largely clone-crewed) and that might explain how that virus got on board all of them. So, who is the turncoat, if their is one?

Camy, sorry to hear that you are having a rough patch. As for the un-aging; Share you secret!! Please!! Hmmm, on the other hand, I don't think I'd give a go personally just yet, as I'd end up being -14...
  7. Welcome, Ingenue! I know what you mean about wishing to have discovered this place sooner. I certainly wish there had been a place like this for me to find when I was in my late teens. Welcome to GA!
  8. Camy, I liked it so much that I'm doing something that is very rare for me: I'm posting! Seriously though, this is good! I love your vocabulary, both the English idioms and colloquailisms, plus words like frisson. I like the story so far. It always takes me a few chapters to get really into a multi-chapter, so I can't say for sure yet, but I think I like it a lot. The dream sequence was great, and I'm curious to find out what is going on with "Valerian". (great name, too, BTW) CJ
  9. GA is a friendly place, so I think you will enjoy it here! We have a lot of great people here, plus we even have dedicated teams to help in certain areas, such as the Writer Support Team. Welcome!
  10. I keep telling people that is the meaning of the title, but nobody listened to me. Well, if it takes until 2008 to edit, it must need a LOT of editing. All jokes aside though, I will be happy to see it whenever it appears.
  11. Guilty! I've heard of her, and love her quote!
  12. This has long been one of my favorite stories! Bourbon is a very uniqe character, and I love the attitudes! This has a lot of twists and turns (and I don't just mean on the motocross track!) and great character development. Great work, Steve!!
  13. Uhoh!! Guys, I think we better be nice to DK, he has us by the.... BTW, I would like to report upon a truly unique and unprecedented occurrence! Yes, you better sit down for this one... It's a shocker... I was actually right about something! Yep, it's true! From the chapter 8 thread: https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/index.php...=5369&st=0# This was a very interesting chapter! I think we now know who Garret will officially marry. I also suspect that the real destabilizing influence isn't SOL, but the rogue clones. Hmmmm! Thanks DK and Emoe!
  14. I think this will be a lot of fun! And that is one heck of a prize. I wish I could play! Put it to rest? But you started that rumor! Goats.. Sheesh.
  15. Conner, I was just lucky that you posted, because otherwise I couldn't have used the "right under your nose" clue! You are one of the very, very few G.A. members who uses their photo for an avatar, so my options were rather limited!
  16. Announcing The Great G.A. Scavenger Hunt! G.A. will be having a Scavenger Hunt, beginning Thursday, September 14th. The game is underway NOW, here is a link to the game itself The prize for the winner will be a custom story, to be posted here at GA and written by Viv, VLista20 (Vance), Dezlboi, RHawes16 (Rob), and Jack Scribe. The winner will get lots of input on the theme, and also may (if they wish) be included in the story. Check out the collaborative story that was written as a birthday present for AFriendlyFace for an example. :king: There are five participating Authors: Viv Dezlboi RHawes16 Jack Scribe VLista20 (Vance) Each of the participating Authors has given us a set of questions based on their stories, and some based on their forums. What the hunt is about is finding the answers in the stories and forums, based on the clues and questions the authors give us. There are 29 questions in all. On Thursday, Sept 14th, the first set of six questions (all by one Author) will be posted here in the Lounge, along with a detailed game sheet, instructions, and rules. On the following day, the next set of questions will be posted, etc, etc, with the final set being posted on Monday, September 18th. Each set of questions will be posted here in the Lounge each day, though the time will vary for the first four days. I will announce (in the previous day's question set) an exact time for the final set, as that will be the only one where time might be important for the player to know. I'll be posting a detailed set of rules and instructions along with the game, but the concept is easy: once you have answered all the questions (all 5 day's worth) you can send me the answers via PM. The winner will be the first to get a perfect score, or, if there is no winner by Noon Eastern Time on Friday, Sept 22nd, the winner will be the person with the highest score. Come on and join in the fun! Bought to you by G.A, the Writer Support Team, and the Participating Authors. Any questions? Please post them here.
  17. Due to severe storms here, I had to move up the posting time until now to be sure it got online. Here is a link to the actual announcement and thread. https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=5745
  18. Graeme got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good one Graeme!! :king: Yep, "right under his nose" meant right under his avatar's nose. 810 am Vancouver (Pacific Daylight Time) assuming I don't have an Internet access problem (heavy storms here right now). Edit to add: Sorry, Kitty, it's military time, due to no AM or PM being displayed.
  19. What? No guesses so far, and I gave easy clues! OK, to re-cap: What do Rhawes, Vlista, Viv, Dezlboi and Jack Scribe have in common? Come one, given the context, this isn't hard! As for when the announcement will be posted, it's tomorrow, but the exact time was what what my last post presented as the riddle. The key is right there in that post (the one above this!) Like I told Conner: It's right under his nose! OK, this was just a couple of puzzles for fun, and to keep things going until the announcement Friday. Don't worry, none of the actual game questions were written my me (and they aren't puzzles like I have been doing). They are easy to answer questions, and you will know where to look to find the answers (that's why it's a scavenger hunt: you are finding things, not taking a test.) So, can't anyone solve the posting time riddle? (BTW, any WST member or participating Author, or absolutely anyone, feel free to take a stab at the posting time question: Only I know the answer). CJ
  20. Happy Birthday!!!! I hope you have a great one!! Best Wishes; CJ
  21. Uhoh! I knew I shouldn't have picked April 23, 2008 in the "when will SOOTB 26 be released" pool! Seriously, great news LB!!!
  22. Congratulations LB!!!! I'm glad it's in a feild you wanted, and it sounds like a great job! I hope this goes great for you. CJ
  23. Well, you are quite correct about missing it Friday, unless I meant Friday in Australia. Save your $$$, Drew. He doesn't know either. Nobody knows but me (cue evil, maniacal laughter) But, I'll be nice, and offer a clue (a real one) below. ROFL!! Well, that's a good point! But, Conner, oh yea of the Goat Sub-Group (I like that, BTW!) you must be sleepy yourself, as the answer is right under your nose and you still can't figure it out. OK, OK, a clue. A real clue. The exact time, and also a location in that time-zone, is in one of the previous posts in this thread.
  24. Trebs!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a really good one!!!! Best Wishes, CJ
  25. Yeah- the image at the top comes from an old French movie. Since it was an ESA probe, I thought that it was somewhat appropriate. I recognized it, which is why i thought it was so funny. ROFL! Speaking of European Space Graphics, take a look at this one: http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&...265974581220bbd Not only does it show the shuttle free-flying when transferring the new truss to the station, but they put the SRB's OVER the wing on the graphic of the stack. ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (BTW, no offence meant to any Europeans! I'd make the same remarks no matter who put out this graphic!)
