  1. Thanks, Jack! Really, it's just a combination of my quest to reach five posts so I can view the sneak peeks forum, and being unable to count... ROFL!! I highly doubt that! Myr is about to hit 3000, any day now. Thanks, Rob! ROFL! I keep telling everyone that I'm just a lurker, bit no one seems to beleive me... Let's see, it was only a short while ago that you had your 1000th post, and you are already at 1393! So, i don't think there is any danger of that happening! Thanks, Kitty!
  2. The sneak peek was chapter 1, and DK now has chapters 1-3 posted on his page http://dkstories.gayauthors.org/bully/index.php
  3. CONGRATULATIONS KRISTA!! I'm so happy for you!
  4. I was originally in the "Hate HArris" camp, but then he grew on me, right up until his reaction to Cam. However, do we know, yet, that it's all based on Cameron's sexuality? Perhaps, like Kyle, he's ticked because Cam wasn't honest with him. For example, Cam was supposed to be working at Cole's.
  5. Thanks drew!! Luc, thank you! Thanks Nick!!! Is the Goat recipe book just away for today? It's a releif not to be on the menu! Ummm, I don't know about the 5.5 posts per day. It's probably because I haven't been away on vacation at all since I joined GA in February. ROFL! Yeah, a per-post charge would hurt, but it would hurt you more than me! Thanks, Vic! Thanks Krista!! Thanks, Al!! And thank you too for becoming active around here. It really makes me happy when I see one of the new people that I've greeted via PM and in the forums become active like you have. Thank you Kurt! I love your posts too. Actually, I only recently discovered the two "top ten" links at the bottom of the main forum page, and when I saw my name on the top ten list I was very surprised! Thank you too, MGH, for the congrats! Thanks, everyone! This has made my day!!! CJ
  6. OK, I added the post number to both of those posts. 500 in two months? I had no idea it was that high! I've been doing some Committee work which boosted it a bit, I think. I haven't been accused of being unfriendly, but, for some unfathomable reason, I have on occasion been accused of being long-winded. I really can't imagine why. After all, it's well known that I'm shy, retiring, and almost never have anything to say. BTW, if anyone disputes this, I should mention the fact that I have a 40 page explanation of why, exactly, I am not long winded, that can post. BTW, Emoe, I still have the "Forum most active in: Do over and do over redux" in my profile, just like you do. I suspect that will be changing, though, due to that forum dying down with the end of the series. Thanks, Emoe!

    Congratulations, Joe! :ranger:

Dom, I think you have every right to be pissed. IMHO, this would be like you sending her a text that claimed that Christianity is a choice (and factually, it, unlike homosexuality, is a choice) and thus can, and should, via support and corrective actions, be overcome. If this were to happen to me, I'd be inclined to reply by telling her that you were hurt by this, and why. I hope things work out for you, whatever approach you decide to take. Vic, I hope all goes well for you Father's surgery, and I admire your self-control for deferring any arguments. Alan, thank you for posting this. You aren't alone in dealing with that tactic. My Mother is 45 years older than me, so she plays the "age card" very well indeed. She isn't religious, but does have a fixation on having natural grandkids (and I'm an only child). I've come out to her on many occasions, and the reactions have varied. Usually, it takes about two weeks before she's back to ignoring the fact that I'm gay, and is back to trying to fix me up with women. (ARGH!). Most of the time, though, we seem to just avoid the issue, which suits me just fine these days (I got tired of the whole "coming out" thing, after about the 20th time with her).
  9. Wow, Kevin, thank you!!!! Ummm, me, a frequent poster? Does this mean I can't describe myself as a lurker anymore? I've absolutely loved being here at GA! (my special thanks to Myr and all the people who work so hard to make this such an awesome place to be!). Since joining in mid-February, I've made a lot of friends here, and this place is very special to me. Thanks, Kevin!
  10. Congratulations on your first post!!! I share your pain: The only thing I dislike about DK's chapters is that they end! Chapter three was great! I loved the authenticity regarding the farm equipment, and the interplay between Danny and Eddie.
  11. What? Me? be untruthfull?
  12. Emoe, I certainly agree with all of the above. I also think that this thread could become a traditional place for DK fans to put their "milestone" posts, be they Centennial, Penta-Centennial, or Millennial. You could have a tradition in the making here, Emoe!! So, I'm putting my Millennial post right here. CJ's 1000th post
  13. That's a good point about the tree branch. I've just been assuming that the assailant was the photographer. So, who attacked Oliver, and why? It's also decidedly weird that the photographer ran from Frank, but when faced with Frank and Oliver, attacked.
  14. I noticed the demolition of roadblocks, too. I was very skeptical about Eddie at first, wondering just how likable a character he could be. Not all of DK's protagonists are what I would call good people (Jarrod won't be getting himself a humanitarian award any time soon ) but I like Eddie. The part about "friends can hurt" was especially poignant. I'm very curious as to what morning will hold, too.
  15. I really liked it, Camy! I liked the way you make the reader figure out what is going on, and what has happened in the past. A very fine job, my friend! One of the other things i very much like, the description of a sound "snick", that really fit and gave fullness and reality to the scene. Thanks for a great story! CJ
  16. Now that would be quite a combination! Hmmmm, maybe have the donuts as the protagonists?
  17. I couldn't find the sign up thread, and this is the forum mentioned in Kitty's post, so thought I'd create one (please delete my post if the thread is elsewhere). Kitty, please sign me up! I had a blast with the Summer anthology, and want very much to be in the Fall one.
  18. I was there a couple of times, but just on exceedingly brief visits. The most recent was a few days in St. Petersburg in 2003, going in an out by sea. I love Russia, and I don't mind the vodka at all (but don't expect it to be as good as the vodka they export!).
  19. That is a very compelling theory, Demitz! I'm wondering just who is aligned with the pirates, as I think that wil be very interesting. Good point especially on the clones issue: If the pirates are lead by Clones, Garret's loyalties will be severely tested, and that could well explain why he was quizzed on his own loyalties. ROFL! Good one, Emoe!! But, Emoe, then how do you explain that I know the following: in Chapter 27, the pirates shock everyone, and turn the tide of battle, by singing "yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum" off key! Sounds like proof of a leak to me!
  20. Congratulations on your first post!! Thanks for joining us! I think you are on to something regarding Mr Dron's absence, especially as it coincided with some odd noises. What is puzzling me is the attack: If that was David, then they are separate people, but if so, why would he hit Oliver?
  21. It looks to me like it was David who took the picture, and also David who attacked Frank and Oliver. This does not bode well for the "David and Oliver are one person" theory. I still wonder, though, based on Oliver's conversation with David through the window, those bruises, etc. Hmmmm.. A wild guess here: What if David is a ghost, that can manifest? Or, what if he is a projection of Oliver's subconscious?
  22. I think you are right, Bob. I think you caught some highly significant things! Great list IMHO! My own guess is that the "purge" of Academy grads is analogous to Stalin's purge of the Soviet Officer corps in the 1930's, and that the reasoning is similar: Some of the ruling houses fear that the Academy grads would be in favor of a change in the power structure (in this case, the Democracy movement) and are attempting to remove the potential leadership of a Coup d'etat. I also suspect that the resulting diminishment of the Republic's military abilities will encourage the Sol empire to renew the war. I suspect that there is going to be a lot of conflict in DoH! I also suspect that there are a great many details yet to come. Hmmmm... My hunch is that DK is still "setting the stage", and is probably (published chapters) only about halfway through doing so.

    *Yawns!*

  24. ROFL! Well, the similey that should have been in my post didn't show up, so i edited it to fix it. As for Nick, yes, he's a very bad influence on me. (just kidding, Nick!) BTW I intend to re-read ALL of SOOTB on the day the last chapter is posted. I'm beginning to think you are right, it will be Ryan and Connor.
  25. Welcome, Amanda!! You sure can draw! That's great! I can't, but many here can. Thanks for joining us!!
