The story that Nevala told was horrifying. Unfortunately, given enough power it would not be out of the realm of possibility, even if the necklace is fiction, the idea of killing for power isn't. It looks like Tristan has finally tapped into his power. I really hope that helps him. I hope the others can find a way to get their friends out of the hands of their enemies. Acting without any control over yourself... what an existence. Are their minds gone completely while they are being controlled or is there a small part of them that is watching in helpless horror as they do these horrible things to friends and loved ones?

I'm so happy that Jacob is back!! I wonder what would have happened to him if Nevala wasn't there? Could they have put Jacob's spirit back into the knife? I was worried there for a minute that Hayden was actually going to hurt Ethan. As it is, he seems to feel guilty for his distrust. I hope they can rebuilt the trust they had before everything happened. I think Nevala might actually be interested in Ethan. That would be great for Ethan, if I am right He seems to have had such a lonely and isolated life.

I think Eagle asked some of the questions that were on my mind (particularly about Nevala). I really hope they can bring Jacob back quickly. I don't know if Kurt will have the will to survive without him. Another great chapter Cynus!

It's hard to say what I think about this poem. It is beautifully written and the message is powerful, but there is so much pain there too. Puppilull is absolutely right, fidelity is a choice and it's very sad to watch someone throw it away for a cheap thrill.

This was a tough one to read. Not because of the length (which actually read very smoothly and relatively quickly considering the word count), but because I think any chance of Zach being alive is gone now. It was good to get more depth to why Micah is the mouthy brat that he is. He does have a reason, and a good one. It was too bad he was wrong about who actually killed his parents. I think Indrus is to blame for this. He could have tried to explain things to Micah a long time before. I agree with Eagle... the prospect of shapeshifters could be scary. How would you know one if you met one? The could look like anyone or any creature. Another great chapter Cynus!

Well that answers the question of whether or not Jacob is a ghost. lol I think Tristan might end up being haunted by his nightmares for a while after all that he has been through. I was a little sad when he thought how he hadn't been in a bed in so long. It's a funny thing to feel sad about after everything, but there it is. On to the next chapters

So much happened in this chapter that I don't even know where to start. Jacob: a ghost? That would be my guess. the Icarus Confederacy: so many different people and creatures have banded together to fight the "bad guys". There are so many very diverse personalities to go along with the diverse species. It will be interesting to watch the dynamic play out. Ethan: What did he do to Tristan and HOW did he do it? The others seem to have a pretty healthy respect for him. There is a story there. Tristan: He is a Phoenix. I wonder what that means for him. Is this like the phoemix of legend that can be reborn in the flames or is this more of a euphemism for someone who can "play" with fire?

Damn what a first chapter. First Tristan sees his brother's corpse and now is told his other brother, and only other living relative is also dead. I don't know if I would believe that Faust person said though. He doesn't strike me as the most honest sort.

Bahahaha I loved this!! Faris is hilarious (and sounds damned sexy ! I could just picture him practically vibrating with excitement over a costume! And Larry is adorable. I tried to put a costume on one of my dogs just once. The thing was a shredded mess in no time. Great chapter Tim!

Fantastic chapter Puppilull! I knew that Levi wouldn't be able to resist George for very long, especially after George got all aggressive on him I can understand Levi's concerns, George is pretty young in age, but he had already been forced to mature years ago.

You know I love the connection between M & K and this affirms that form me. They never just have sex, they make love, with their hands, their mouths, their eyes.. everything. They are focused on each other's pleasure and that is a wonderful thing to see I loved the talk between Nate and Michael. I think M doesn't give himself enough credit. He is going to be a wonderful father too. The words may not always come as easily to him but his strength is in how much he cares and how hard he tries. In this case he did end up finding the right words to say. I think Nate just needed to know it is possible to be happy as a gay man, even if the paths to happiness are not always the same.

So it seems that Chris is more interested than he lets on. He's still acting like a jerk though. More please

Thank you, Gary. My goal with these men is to try to make them as realistic (as realistic as a space-faring vampire can get ) as I can without unnecessary drama. Each character has their own reasons for their behaviour and personality. My hope, with the flashbacks, was to show the friendship that was built before it started to morph into something more. It has been a slow build up, but I didn't want them just jumping into bed the second Merrick turned 18. That just wasn't them, well it wasn't Jenson. An 18 year old Merrick might disagree. I am really happy that other people seem to agree and are enjoying the journey. Right now Merrick is 29 and is a man, no matter what Jenson tries to tell himself. I hope that you and everyone else will enjoy watching Merrick try to convince Jenson he is not a child. Thank you again for your support of both me and this story, Gary. Without you this would still just be an idea floating around in my head.

Poor Russ... I think he's seeing how out of touch he has been since he got sick, I wonder what would have happened with the boys if they had stayed together in school? As much as it would be nice not to have Evan hurt by Russ's refusal to have him stay back in school too, I'm not sure if Russ would have ever gotten out from behind Evan's shadow, or would have ever met Jacob, so it turned out for the best. Now both twins have good, loving men in their lives. I think it's great that Russ and Jacob will be traveling. Russ has been in a self-imposed cage for too long. It will be good for him to see the world. Oh and those boys are going to drive Chris and Jacob to either grey hair or baldness
