I love hearing theories and speculations. I see them as true engagement with the story, and that's what I need most as a writer. As far as Tilly, I enjoyed surprising people about her incredible self awareness. She is that character you have to respect, and should never underestimate. I think she is the nicest blindside in the story. Thanks again, buddy... ridiculous in in the eye of the beholder, and I beheld no such thing.

I never once thought of you as a pest, Terry. I love interacting with readers and accept the good and the bad. For example, I know you didn't care for Endings, and I appreciated your honesty. I wondered how it would be received by readers, and fully expected some would find the beginning difficult if not impossible to stick with. The fact it pays off big doesn't matter, and your reaction reminded me of that. So never worry about commenting or asking questions or wanting clarifications, or speculating, or even complaining/criticizing. It's all good as far as I'm concerned. Your excitement has always shown through and I can tell you with confidence only the most jaded of writers wouldn't appreciate it. Lol... I admit nothing, but I sure enjoyed writing that little piece. That point you missed about Tobyn being afraid of earth mates because of what happens when one dies is very key to who he is and how he handles things. He would prefer that part of shifter's legacy gone. Of course, that is a burying your head in the sand thing to feel. Still, he witnessed the demise of Fendral, who was so important to him, and it tilted his views immensely. Tobyn is turning himself onto knots over what he is feeling, but he is determined to stick to what he thinks is best for his pack. He's been on a mission, and any kind of movement off it is hard for him to entertain. Thanks for the great comment, Terry. Cheers!

Happy to hear you are falling more deeply in love with htis story. That means a lot to hear. Great literature stands up over time, and I am not saying this is great literature, but I know in my heart it is a special story, one many readers will always remember. The nice thing about a reread is there is no need to rush. When I first read a story I can be impatient to getto the end, but favored novels I have reread, I tend to take my time. I always enjoy conversations about moms. Elinor was fascinating to write. This strong woman who handled such great responsibility with ease and grace, but never hardened like we see in characters on TV and such. She is always a mom. Thanks, Terry! This brought back that feeling I had after writing the healing scene. There was so much left to the story--I knew that--but this chapter felt like a real accomplishment, like I had somehow made it, and that I could do this. Of course this was long before I posted Morningstar. I had many chapters after this under my belt before I was confident I was ready to post. I love that you are seeing those new details. I often refer to writing as 'crafting' and 'weaving' a story, and for me that's exactly what it is. I like when readers absorb the story... and that nothing is 'in their face'. Cheers, my friend.

Couldn't get on site for a while. How's everyone doing? I had a nice long walk and did some tree pruning, and oh yeah, I wrote another 2100 words for a new story. Talked to a friend from Toronto for a while and caught up with all the gossip. Covid has really screwed up everyone's social life, and there is a big new wave of it happening again... and monkeypox is making the rounds. I think I'm going to watch more of season three of Locke and Key tonight. Have a great night, all!
