    Retrieving the star was a bit easier than it seemed in spite of all the protection around it. I have to wonder what wrinkle pops up next after Beckett flames whoever hurt Valrinda. It looks like there will be no learning curve for Beckett in using his powers.

    With the description of Thane's outfit and its over the top details, one has to wonder what truly dressed up looks like. And Thane, as I understand it, is only a black sheep spare, not in line to rule his house. Thane would be one of Kandric's great, with lots of greats in there, uncles.

    We, our time travellers, and the caravaneers have just received a massive information dump. There is much to think on. One clue from Mablin musing about the one armed merchant indicates we are likely in Kandric's time frame and it is one of much unrest and change. Poor Lew will have his hands full trying to guide and acclimate this group to the world which is so different from their own. Fun times are ahead.

    From the actions Devin and Mac displayed while under threat, it makes me wonder if the form of animal they transition into subconsciously affects responses.

    Grooming someone can be an intimate action and this was no exception given the care J ubal took while trimming and shaving Lucas. The sexual tension is there and becoming clearer to us if not Jubal. Lucas made it known the only filly he was interested in had four legs, but it seemed to go past Jubal or he's still gun shy from past experience. Reid is still pushing to get whatever it is he wants from Lucas and Lucas is none to happy about it.

    He is operating in the Dark. He doesn't know Edith's plans or disdain for titles so he can't factor this into his decision. Mobs aren't reliable entities to deal with as they are fueled by anger and hatred. I fear for all the occupants of the Manse.

    It seems Edith's vision for the future is in direct conflict with Fran's goals of regaining land and nobility. While she seems outnumbered and outmanuevered, she also seems to have a plan in mind to counter her disadvantages. Greyford has thrown the ambassadors to the wolves by leaving such a paltry force to quell these bloodthirsty mobs. Gustave's previous assessment of a weak Empire turns out to be true. It can't afford to send troops and isn't either a reliable ally or threat. The once proud Ludolf has been reduced to a pathetic shell. I do believe Fran is about to sell Gustave and Ludolf out to the mob, but what course does he take then? He can get revenge, but his other goals seem out of his reach.
