Switching armor is practical. Ishan and Wylan have much in common. Their magic has forged a bond deeper than anything they've known. I doubt Ishan will tell anyone since his desires are forbidden. But magic sex is hot.

From a historical standpoint, this battle was crucial. Victory for the Turks would have likely ended the Crusades forever. Kilij Arslan had the bulk of his treasure in his camp and it was looted. This only whetted the appetite for more riches. From our story standpoint, our characters have survived. Lloyd, the Mouse, has achieved glory and his knighthood by holding the line. Wylan has become an oracle. Even Julian stood tall. The hours of terror have paid off.

This encounter with the wolves was enlightening. The corruption is blind and those stricken attack friend and foe alike. Ember is as special as he looks, blessed by the gods to channel the Old Magic. Trillion has been awakened by fate and desire. Ember now matters.
