  1. I agree that it seems strange that Milo has not made an effort to contact Nelson. Since we do live in a digital age, can't Milo use a friend's phone if his has been confiscated by dear old dad?
  2. We could be in for a big surprise. When Nelson goes on this weekend outing, he may find Milo there. It's conceivable that Caleb and Jame worked out the details together. Anyone agree?
  3. Cool move, dude. I am impressed that you and others were willing to take a stand (or seat as it were) for what you believe in. Not knowing what was said by police or school officials, it appeared they handled the incident calmly. I hope you get the anti-discrimination policy soon.
  4. Well, Nelson is finding out who his real friends are and there are some surprises in that. Some are more help than others and some are trying too hard. One thing's for sure: Nelson is the best friend Milo has.
  5. If you get invited to an AT&T executive's wedding, don't go. The reception will be terrible.
  6. Thanks for the great story, Joey. I enjoyed every word and I always enjoy a happy ending. I hope you have another story in you; I'm ready to read it. Take care of yourself and your Jake.
  7. Hey, can't I have a little fun with the goat? As for air travel being safer than traveling to work, that's not true in my case. I'm retired.
  8. I trust Aimee will be the third soul.
  9. Shhh...don't tell Cliff James. You know how jealous goats can be.
  10. Thank you. The ending was actually sweet...that airport scene with Lisa and Joel. Unfortunately, air travel can be risky, so we can't really judge the full potential for a cliffhanger until we know Joel has made it safely to Gibraltar via London.
  11. Congratulations, John! You are on your way.
  12. I'm looking forward to the big reunion. Cray has already learned enough to understand his father had no choice but to abandon him. His mother is the real culprit along with her perverted second husband. The reunion may have some rough spots, but I think it will end up a good thing for everyone involved. Cray and Jack meeting one-on-one is a good idea, too, eliminating possible complications from the other relationships involved.
  13. I'm with the majority here. I think Jame wants Milo for himself (sexually or just as a friend) and he started the gossip mill grinding away at school. Emily is a nice person despite Milo's misgivings of her as being a gold digger. I think her friendship with Nels' mother will prompt her to act as an intermediary between the two boys and perhaps undertake an effort to get them back together.
  14. Great chapter, Cliff. Trevor's plan for his circumnavigation begins to take shape. After a near disaster, he gets some very good news.
  15. I think Jame is the one responsible for Nels and Milo being caught. There is a reason Milo's dad and Emily returned from a trip early and a reason Jame was there when they did. I think Milo will eventually work things out with Emily's help. Emily's friendship with Nels' mom may be a factor.
  16. One of my sons responded to every answer we gave hm with a "why". We could answer a question with "because" and he would ask "why". Now that he has a little boy of his own, we are eagerly awaiting the day he starts talking and asking "why". Payback time!
  17. You expect goats to be respecters of persons, eh? They don't even respect amphibians.
  18. Curling and the biathalon.

  20. Every new chapter from Dom Luka is worth the wait no matter how long.
  21. My parents grew up during the Great Depression. My father dropped out of high school to work and help his family; he later finished school. Our parents were always careful with money and taught us valuable lessons about what things are important in life. I was born a few months before Pearl Harbor drew the US into the war. My father joined the Navy and had the unusual distinction of remaining stateside throughout the war; he never even got on a ship for an orientation cruise. My mom and I were able to live with him most of the time he was in the service and most of that was in California. He was assigned to the Medical Corps and when the Navy took over the Ahwahnee Lodge in Yosemite as a rehabilitation hospital, we lived there in a one room tourist cabin for about 18 months. That experience has influenced me and my own family to travel widely throughout the US (including several return trips to California) and Europe.
  22. A 6 year old and a 4 year old are upstairs in their bedroom. The 6 year old asks, "You know what? I think it's about time we started cussing." The 4 year old nods his head in approval. The 6 year old continues, "When we go downstairs for breakfast, I'm gonna say something with hell and you say something with ass." The 4 year old agrees with enthusiasm. When the mother walks into the kitchen and asks the 6 year old what he wants for breakfast, he replies, "Aw, hell, Mom, I guess I'll have some Cheerios. WHACK! He flies out of his chair, tumbles across the kitchen floor, gets up, and runs upstairs crying his eyes out, with his mother in hot pursuit, slapping his rear with every step. His mom locks him in his room and shouts, "You can stay there until I let you out!" She then comes back downstairs, looks at the 4 year old and asks with a stern voice, "And what do YOU want for breakfast, young man?" "I don't know," he blubbers, "but you can bet your fat ass it won't be Cheerios!"
  23. Both countries need to protect their citizens from mad goat disease.
