  1. Cammy, before you respond to Nephylim, stop and consider what lesson you can take away from this experience.
  2. There's a new threat to goats everywhere... No Goats, No Glory.
  3. Appendix and gall bladder due to their dysfunction. Prostate due to cancer. My consolation? The doctor says I'm very healthy for the condition I'm in.
  4. Careful, Krista! What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Guys can get larger e-mails in a variety of ways, naturally and otherwise.
  5. Thanks for bringing this story to our attention, Jack. I very much enjoyed reading it a second time. Where is the series you promised?
  6. Literalism is a difficult problem for religious people. Leviticus is a problem for observant Jews; it is a bigger problem for Christians. Literalism compounds the problem. The real problem here is not what the Bible says. The problem is that the law no longer permits you to stone your neighbor to death, sell your daughter into slavery, or buy slaves from across the border. But the laws on homosexuality have not changed or have changed too recently to influence the religious person's literal interpretation of that one verse from Leviticus.
  7. Happy Birthday, Rory!
  8. Paula Deen certainly uses butter in everything. Most of her recipes start with one pound of butter.
  9. Freddos? Chocolate frogs? Never! Blasphemy!
  10. We're getting a little here. We are supposed to be discussing the dilemma of dead goldfish disposal. Seriously, I'm surprised to see that the little film appeals primarily to female respondents and especially to British gals.
  11. Can't believe NBC would spend the air time on this particular subject. It was an entertaining look at the "holiday" which is second only to Christmas for most children. If I show up on your doorstep Saturday night, please remember that my favorite candy is Mr. Goodbar.
  12. Thanks, Benji. My wife and I have an ongoing discussion (we never argue ) about this. She is at considerable risk for heart disease and is convinced that margarine is better for her than butter. Of course, the real discussion is a matter of taste vs. cholesterol. She likes the product I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. My problem is that I can very easily believe it's not butter. vs.
  13. Very well said, Nephylim. There are 474 members currently on GA who identify themselves as straight; that's 6% of the total membership. There are also 1,115 (14%) who do not specify their sexuality (Still figuring it out, Ask me, Not telling). GA is a great site for both good literature and good friends. There really is a sense of community here and it's good to know that minorities like straights won't be made to feel unwelcome.
  14. Steve, if your first conversation with a new guy you fancy is clouded by thoughts of an eventual breakup, he may pick up some bad vibes. He may feel that you aren't really serious about a longer term relationship. Try being more optimistic. Enter a new relationship with the expectation that you will find what you really want. I know, you think being optimistic just sets you up for a bigger letdown. If you are pessimistic, you almost assure that there will be a letdown. Relax. Smile. Good luck!
  15. I spoke too soon. They're back.
  16. Jack, it seems all posts in this thread are in italics; don't know why. It will make it difficult if someone wants to use italics for emphasis or to indicate a word from a foreign language. Edit to add: It appears that your forum is the only one in which this is occurring. Your entry starting the thread is in normal type and you end it with a signature in italics. All responding entries are in italics. Hoskins may be correct that it is because of you signature. Another note: Everywhere the word "italics" appears in this entry, I typed that word in italics, but that is not apparent to readers. Second edit: OK. Forget what I said. It seems someone has fixed the thing with italics and it appears that your signature was not changed.
  17. I don't know if the other respondents noticed it and just didn't mention it. I understand each little bright spot on the map represents a McDonalds location, but the background (more obvious where there are fewer McDonalds) looks like very fatty intestines. Gross!
  18. Glad to see you back, Jack. This first chapter is a bit of a downer, but I'm sure you will find a way to lift everyone's spirits in coming chapters. That was a neat, unpretentious, little cliffhanger you laid on us.
  19. John, this may help: https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/22272-2008-ga-readers-choice-awards/
  20. Very interesting and encouraging story, Celia. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Thanks for another excellent chapter, Cammy! It was good to hear more about Case's brother, David, although it was a sad story. Case and Luca's friendship is growing stronger as a result and Luca is very demonstrative. Time for some fireworks.
  22. Oh, I think we all know exactly where Casey gets it from. For those who haven't read it yet, Chapter 9 is found here.
  23. What's Up Dude? Joe College

    What's in a voice?

I understand your concern. There are a lot of options for lowering your voice. Forget testosterone injections and vocal cord surgery. You can train yourself to speak in a lower octave. Just check out what's available via Google. Check Amazon or your local library for books on the subject. It might be worth the effort. I mean, how many decades has Wayne Newton added to his career by lowering his voice? Good luck and remember, bass or not, we love you.
