  1. In many ways I was most fortunate in my privilege. A preposterous comment to a common understanding, I am sure, but not so incredible to those of us in my class who have been exposed to certain experiences. One might consider these experiences traumas. Many of my fellows at Oxford passed these tales to me in certain confidence. I only break this confidence now in these pages because those for whom I held this confidence have all finally passed beyond caring. To the hungry families that once

  3. The original Knights of the Old Republic game (KOTOR). Its actually an app now that you can play on your smart phone. It had a WAY better storyline than the Star Wars Prequels and it introduced us to a character that is second only to Darth Vader as being beloved by Star Wars fans. It was perhaps the best game I've ever played.

During the height of their underground popularity in England in the late 70s, Throbbing Gristle were called by the press 'the destroyers of civilization' because of their deeply challenging and troubling music. Just goes to show you...from such 'destroyers' comes some pretty healing advice.

I was doing some reserch for a story and I came upon this quote. It reminded me of what got me through Jr. High and High school. I didn't even know this quote existed and yet it was something of a mantra for me in those days. Writing can sometimes surface some old memories and thoughts from the past. Its part of the 'blood' an author has to spill on his papers. I also get too many young gay guys that talk to me of suicide as an option. Sometimes the platitudes "you have so much to live for, things get better, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem..." just don't work. Especially for those suffering from bullies. This quote....many times DOES work where other things fail. I guess when love isn't enough, you have to live out of hate to get through so you can find better love in the future.

"Don’t commit suicide because that’s what they want – If you commit suicide, they win. Choose life if only to spite them and p*** them off." ~Genesis P Orridge of the influential band Throbbing Gristle.
  9. This was a fun one to write. I likened it to a 'chess game of luuuuv' as the two fenced. Snowflake is an amazing spirit. I swear since I've started writing this that he has subtly influenced me. For instance, we just had an ethnic food fair in our central park here in San Diego and I bypassed all the fine exotics and made a beeline for the House of Finland. Hehehehe. I ended up with a little cup of pea soup...a Finn staple. I felt like I was sharing something with an imaginary character that has somehow become real to me.

I'm honored that you are reading my stuff and enjoying it Cynus. You have become eminent here at GA because of your entrancing stories. One day, I hope I can turn 'rust red' too...but I have a long long way to go. This first chapter I see as fairly primative. It sets the stage but I think that if I were ever to have this published for money I'd work on this a bit. This was my first bit of prose I wrote here. It was a 'wing it' kind of story...but as the characters have spoken to me a very deep and meaningful 'play' came to exist. I hope you can continue on and forgive my roughness. I am very new to this sort of thing.

Thank you Mikiesboy. I've addressed some of these concerns in future chapters and they've helped me fill in blanks where needed. I hope you like what is to come.
  20. I would be honored, Cynus. Mikiesboy! The nickname sort of wrote itself and then became a somewhat ironic yet descriptive thing. Later it became more as Jösse's amazing story revealed itself to me. After having written the first few chapters I came upon a song by Kate Bush that honestly stopped me in my tracks... ...it became more poignant when I learned that this was Kate Bush's son that sings all but the refrain. Bertie McIntosh is his name. It broke my heart and Snowflake was given a soul.
  21. No worries, Timothy! The story will be there when you can get around to it. 'Act II' is turning out to be a fun act to write. A lot of fun interactions. Feel free to comment, ask questions, or whatever!
  22. I have gotten deep enough into this story now that I thought I might post a thread about it for Q and A and suggestions if anyone wants to offer anything. Participation is always appreciated. I am very new here and have never really published anything that I've written before so I am very appreciative of my readers. Thank you ever so much! ~~~~~ Snowflake, A Love Story: [sharedmedia=stories:stories:4676]

  24. April 19 Well...yesterday was like absolutely nothing went on at all. A typical day of get up, eat breakfast, go to school, come home, eat dinner, do homework, kill a bunch of Bornean Bears to farm shin bones or something in my game, and then finally sleep. No one even came online to talk to or play with so I was like playing alone last night. That sometimes feels even more lonely then when you are just alone in your room reading a book. It’s like double-alone...I don't suppose that makes any
