  1. April 17 I was practicing basketball today and it's weird but I seem to attract more attention when I'm doing something I'd prefer to do alone than when I would prefer to do something with someone else. Does that make any sense? Not to me either! I was shooting long shots to practice my aim when a blur managed to swoop the ball away just as it fell from the hoop. My first reaction was 'Oh damn. Now I'll have to go check out another ball and try to explain where the other one went'. But, inste

I liked that much better than Space Invaders. But Defender was my favorite.

  6. Nick has been my muse for style, art and music since I was 13 years old. I always thought I'd grow out of it and him...but so far I haven't grown up...and neither has he!
  7. The absolute master of Man-Makeup. Surprisingly, he's straight as they come, unfortunately. Andy Warhol and I were both devestated!

    Prologue

Maybe the sacred geometry of Barbury Castle mapped what is described in The Tearing?
  9. Tears. Water cries when she weeps, for in the form of Water she can cry for what has been lost in a way nothing else can. His core is rotting. It comes up from the Deep. Oh the Black Deep! The Thing in the Depths will lead them here. Without Father Brazil Nut Tree to defend Om'aga M'tOCK'n Ah, as the forest men call the Old Forest, it will be harvested. Men hunger as the Dragon eats what they need. The Cold Day comes to the hot place and food and money are getting scarcer. Men, ever hungry, e
  10. He is weak. Weak from his foundations. Flowers few. Stamens sterile. Fruit gone. The Water inside him has been tainted. At last he was dying. He had been alive since before the coming of Man. He became aware of their many wonders and marveled at them, but for him their whole history seemed but a blink in time. The Circle of Man, in lush places, had made things from the earth as was their amazing power. He has seen even as far as Egypt when it was still green....and He was old then. He rem

    Chapter 12

Wow...this brings back memories. PursaGel, Billy! PursaGel!
  13. You're welcome, luv. I wish I lived closer by. We'd hang out and stuff when shit happens. That's what I try to do for my 'flock' down here in almost Mexico. In the end, we all have to stick together and show the love that we want to get from one another.
  14. Thank you! It was a lot of fun to write. I'm glad you are enjoying it with me!

Thank you so much! Yeah, Brandon makes an interesting foil vs. Billy Chase in Comsie's story about him (which I encourage you to read too as it's quite riveting. It brought me to this site! ). Comsie and I have been working together to make this an authentic pairing. Interestingly, and this is where I compare notes with you WE, Brandon is a reflection of myself growing up, so it's semi-autobiographical. I saw me in the boy Billy fell in love with. I saw me like I was looking at yesterday. So I was compelled to write this!
  16. I will occasionally revert to my 1980s youth and put some eyeliner on. I still like the way it makes me look. I went full on this past Halloween in my 'Kitty' costume as my profile pic demonstrates. I put a touch sometimes if I go out dancing. I often get 'noticed' when I do this. I'm not entirely sure if this is 'good' noticed or 'bad' noticed, but I really don't give a flying fig. When I was younger I used to wear cover-up to cover my acne. Later, I just didn't much care anymore, which was sad because I was depressed at the time and for a long time after. A sign of my getting better was that I wanted to use it again. I see wearing makeup as a sign of liberation! Something that I can do and be called 'Gay' and accept that with great pride! I suppose that's also a leftover from the 80s. It was a statement in defiance to the 'Moral Majority'. They wanted to control me...and I wouldn't be controlled!!
  17. Hehehehe! I'm so glad you are enjoying it, Badbart! It was fun to write and so I'm hoping it is as fun to read!
  18. Brian ~~~~~~~~ Well, home again home again, jiggedy jig. Except this time I have a handsome Finnish roommate staying with me who has become enamored of daytime television...particularly The View. What the fuck? Ok, so I'll tell today's tale. It's the first day of my internship at the UCSF Pediatric Brain Center. Orientation took 12 hours today. Meetings with my instructing doctor, meetings with Center Administration to go over rules and policies, meetings to have more meetings. I swear I

It is a pity such voices go silent here. They challenge and stimulate our authoring community. It is chilling that such challenges are met with such concern on the Internet.
  21. Well I am using this web site for some of the things I forgot about Greek Mythology: http://www.theoi.com/ It's been really useful for my mythological piece The Seashell. For Norse stuff, you're going to think I'm weird, but try Marvel's Thor. They broke down the whole cosmology of Asgard and Midgard and everything. Cross reference that with Viking sagas and Marvel did a pretty good job of covering the Norse idea of the universe: http://marvel.com/universe/Asgard
