Ah....thank you so much Liebchen. I very much appreciate your reading Souvenir. Its a labor of love. This one takes more effort than the others because of the received English phrasing. I have to channel my inner Jane Austin.
Over time one is wont to forget things as they happened and remanufacture them in memory as one hopes they happened. At points along the way, however, one remembers things just as the were as opposed to how one may have wanted them to be at the time. The denominator most common to both cases is that the memories that come to us as happy ones are often altered and the ones that are unhappy ones are generally unaltered. A depressing thought but I suppose for survival's sake it makes a bit of sense
Oh thank you! That is a wonderful comment, Rex!
That was what I was hoping for. So many fantasy pieces exist in alternate universes disconnected from our world. The fun of the Greek Myths was that they usually involved normal people caught up in the machinations of the Gods. Here I am hopefully following in Homer's tradition of bringing these old ideas back to life!
You, who came into this world So young and unexpected So small and unsuspected Your life has come unfurled And has come to join with mine
My sleep, you brought it to its end
Awareness breaking over me
Like a crashing wave from the sea
You caused fate to make an amend
Forcing justice from the divine
Oh, my beautiful love too mortal
What boon could I ever give to thee
To match this kiss that set me so free
What sweet debt you leave this immortal
Fear no
"You, who came into this world
So young and unexpected
So small and unsuspected
Your life has come unfurled
And has come to join with mine
My sleep, you brought it to its end
Awareness breaking over me
Like a crashing wave from the sea
You caused fate to make an amend
Forcing justice from the divine
Oh, my beautiful love too mortal
What boon could I ever give to thee
To match this kiss that set me so free
What sweet debt you leave this immortal
Yeah...I hope Comsie doesn't mind me taking liberties with Jamie. I tried to pull what I could of his personality out of Comsie's brief interactions. I find it an interesting Yin Yang between Brandon and Billy regarding the ever 'godlike' Jamie. Billy is infatuated with a look but not the person behind it and Brandon is afraid of that person despite the face. Another reason why I think Billy and Brandon are made for each other. They compliment each other in their feelings about things.
