  1. “Don’t brood. Get on with living and loving. You don’t have forever.” – Leo Buscaglia This is an awesome quote. Thank you for including it in your excellent list. It is going on my classroom door.

    Bad Break-up

This poem's unfiltered anger and hurt sweeps me right along from the very beginning. What strikes me most is how you turn the tables on your erstwhile tormentors; they are the exiles from grace, love and acceptance, not you. Powerfully written.

    Cut the Cake

@Pedro1954 Your comprehensive remarks left me laughing and delighted. I particularly applaud : But the icing on the cake (so to speak) was your wonderful Lemma, which will be foisted upon my calculus class at the earliest suitable opportunity. Awesome. And I am glad these characters appealed to you. Paul and Jimmy seem like an interesting pair.

    poet lost

For You simply kindled pure fire in my heart. You transform longing and desire into love. Poet Lost is different, yet the longing remains here, so strong to mute the words that want to flow. Yet you remain a poet, for even this cry is music to the soul and beautifully written.
  5. I loved these Tankas. Each speaks of the seasons to me; the scent of the changes in the earth and the ripeness of harvest. Beautiful. Very beautiful.

Paul will definitely not sue you! I am glad you liked the story, even if there was a math problem buried in it. Thanks for taking time to read it and comment.

    Chapter 11

This is such a nice chapter, tim. I loved each of the scenes, but perhaps the grocery store grabbed my fancy first. The family brought together, laughing, celebrating, happy and content: that's so wonderful, too. And then the memories: Don and Louis making love - these are the kinds of things that carry one through the years and hardships of changes. Beautifully done, tim.

    2-9 - Blame

I am overcome with sadness at this chapter, drowning in the 'why' of the river, and the hurt Caleb carried with him.

    Home Truths

A wonderful making up, and with the help of a helpfully meddlesome friend, too. We all need at least one of those, once in a while. It was the embrace Tony offered, and which Geoff accepted, that got to me at first. That simple gesture can begin to mend a world of hurt. This was a lovely chapter, and I look forward to more. Soon.

    Cooling

Your powers of description are keen and strong. I can feel the cold, wet rain, and see the bare branches of which you write. And you make me feel for that lost little white moth, with seemingly no place to go before the snow arrives. I especially liked happiest winds from the north blow.... for it often seems that the north wind takes joy in its task of changing the season. Thank you for this wonderful poem.
  11. @AC Benus : Thank you for both of these. I was particularly drawn to Yea Though I Walk, and its exquisite choral harmonies. How did you know I would be a sucker for this one? It is most wonderful.

    2-8 - A Recipe

This is a great comic relief chapter...Jake, a sorcerer? And Ethan levitating cucumbers is hilarious. Loved every line.
  13. This both a tragic and beautiful story of becoming, and loss. Worth every minute you spend reading.
  14. I very much enjoyed the story. Mike is on his way to becoming, Winston, feeling trapped by promises he should never have made, can no longer become...tragic and still beautiful.

    Chapter 1

I like this story. It's cute and well told; so incredible that Kay has never been asked out.

    Cut the Cake

Indeed it is! I hope you enjoyed Jimmy and Paul and the tiny math problem baked into the carrot cake.

    Chapter 3

I do wonder what will happen with Allen. Will Joey stay alive long enough to help Allen? There are so many directions this can go.

    Surprises

I love the many different snatches if life in hell. So many snarky snapshots sending up the grey tedium of modern life. It is nice to see Thomas' point of view for a change. How shallow he appears - but perhaps he is deep by comparison to the demon. Still, how will he see beyond the hooves and horns? To see to the goose pimples? I am enjoying this story very much. Thank you!

    2-7 - Rivers

Orpheus explains the metaphorical geography, and through you, is an excellent teacher. It is hard to grasp that Caleb is consigned completely to death, resigned to the afterlife and Lethe at the last. He seems so alive, yet Orpheus seems to know better. Why else would he make such promises as he does? Hoping for more, soon, please!
  20. A wonderful note to someone you wished you could know. Beautifully said. Hugs.

Thanks for giving Paul and Jimmy a chance; and maybe the solution to the math question will occur to you sometime when you least expect it...

    Chapter 16

Gosh, but you have packed a punch into this chapter. Devan and Jesse and Stefan looking out for each other; Stefan reconnecting with his father; Jesse waking up and actually smelling the coffee of real life...wow. And then on the top of this merry bonfire, you throw the gasoline of Stefan heading back to Chris? Call an ambulance!

I am glad you enjoyed the story. I will have to work on getting an image to post for this...
