At least Ellie didn't shoot her eye out! I am glad you liked this chapter. And I am humbled by your very kind words. Thank you.

    Chapter 15

Liam got some important words and emotions off his chest and out into the open. Now he has more room in his head and heart to think about the choice he wants to make about Alek. The visit to Halifax showed Liam as part of a network of old friends and surrogate family. You leave no doubt that he is loved, and surely he must understand that, too. Whatever he decides, he must know he is loved and supported. Liam was hurt badly by Alek; is he ready to risk being made happy by him, too? Great chapter, as always.
  3. When one thinks of Scarlatti, the harpsichord comes to mind immediately. For Bach, one could be forgiven for thinking he lived at the organ console. But what of Vivaldi? I found this and enjoyed it...

Thanks for your comments. If this chapter had you holding your breath, then I can smile a little. The speargun? Ellie will manage it. The real question is what Kenny will have to say after he gets through with the hospital.

Thanks for hanging on through that chapter. Good thing Ellie knew how to use the darn thing!

Their embrace lasted a few seconds, ten at most. But a whole lifetime of relief seemed to flow through his frame as he held onto Graham there in the hallway. It could not last forever, though. "Scott, what the hell is going on?" Graham spoke softly into his ear, releasing him so they could look one another in the eye. He shook his head. "Not here." He picked up his things from where he had dropped them on the floor. "Let's go. We can talk later, someplace else. I promise."
  7. Just a giggle, yet right to the point. And a very good one, at that....
  8. These are great, Emi! I am struggling with manners, still. But your Four D's is wonderful and memorable...

Scott is quite probably both relieved and rattled and just happy to get out of that damned little room. Relieved because Graham somehow found him; rattled, because the moment he gets to land, his past comes back to smack him. He evaded Kenny, but Graham knew how to find him...and so did the police. Scott is considerably sobered by the pictures of Ted and his roommate; they came to a bad end, and he doesn't want to end up that way. But he is remaining true to his promises to Graham, which says so much about how their love has changed him. Thanks for reading this chapter, and for your comments!
  10. The tension - romantic, platonic and sexual - is tightly wound in this chapter. You write it so well, and make it believable. Great chapter.
  11. Oh how fortune surprises those who least look for her chances and changes. Kellar as Alpha makes sense, but will he wear that mantle easily? The vision was horrific but it helps to know the men who slew Kellar's parents are dead. Great chapter aptly named.
  12. I am so glad you liked Anvil-headed clouds. That image waited for all the rest to coalesce around it. And St Clements bells was a fun romp...
  13. Each hour felt unhappy, empty, without the one yearned for, the one who completes the storyteller. But what happens after is another poem.
  14. It turned out to be harder than expected to find examples of what is now growing in my garden. There is just so much right now! Your thought about God and greedy little face is apt...for each of them has a name.
  15. This is a great story you tell in this poem. You do it with grace and economy. Lovely.
  16. Loneliness is personified with images that cut to the heart of modern existence. Bundling real joys into plastic wrapped packages to be synthesized...I shudder. Well done.

I really, really like this. I can relate completely. It is lucky Arlo and Den feel like that about each other, still better that the air finally cleared enough to see and understand. A beautiful story.

    Chapter 25

Cindy threw down the gauntlet, making her wishes plain as day. The old Jackson would have either shrugged and laughed it off, or found a devious way to retaliate...or both. Jackson may have changed, but he makes it plain Cindy isn't going to call the shots without some resistance. And what is Luke going to do?
  19. You have made a poem of me! And I prefer the former to the latter...thank you!
  20. The Abecedarian kind of poem really appeals, and can convey a sort of innocence. Quite unlike April 11, which is a more, um, adult fantasy. Thank you so much for reading these, and for your thoughts.
  21. Thanks, so much, tim. Sorry to be sad; the 'regret' prompt really hit home. Why was it so hard to see the disaster coming? Again, thanks for reading and for your support.

You ask a good question; you may have noticed that Scott cooperated with the police, but did not volunteer very bit of information he possesses. The police are interested in how Ted and the redhead got murdered, and on establishing a timeline of Scott's movements. The line of questioning went in that direction, as it is recalled. And Scott surely wants to step carefully around saying too much about Marquez. Anyhow, that's how it felt to me as I wrote it... I completely agree that Graham will be pleased that Scott cooperated. Graham may not realize how much Scott has changed that he would do that for him. Thanks so much for reading and for your remarks and response!
  23. Thanks Carlos...they seem to appear like magic, or accumulating snow...
  24. April 9 I made each and every one of you, gave you breath, sustained your hideous sprouting upwards; please stop staring at me with hungry eyes, as if to devour me for letting you be. Again and again, one time after another, I can't seem to stop. The light is still burning; I mixed the batter wrong, and I forgot to save the last receipt; writing, I routinely transpose numbers and misuse semi-colons; yet you
