Thank you so much! It was painful and beautiful at the same time, and I thank you for staying with the story to this point.

It is not going to be easy for them, but Scott and Graham can only be together if they are honest themselves. The speed with which this has developed has been both exhilarating and unsettling for each of them. But I doubt they would have it Amy other way. Thanks so much for reading, and for your great comments.

This chapter was a relief but a bear to write. I am glad you felt it to be realistic. Scott will have a challenge living up to the promises he made, but as he said himself, he feels he can manage them if Graham stands with him. The ever rational Graham wasn't going to go back to Scott without those conditions you mentioned. Thanks so much for your acute reading and attention.

Thanks, Wesley. That is very encouraging to hear.

You ask questions about restoration and forgiveness that Scott will need time and good counsel to answer. We can hope he will get these. We may not see Predator Prey Prolonged. It is enough for now to see Scott and Graham together again. Thanks for your great comments.
  7. These are perfect for the role!
  8. He stood there in the doorway to his stateroom, motionless. Graham stood before him, clearly apprehensive, waiting. But he couldn't help noticing Graham's eyes shift, furtively glancing down his body. Damn. Of all the times to be dressed only in his boxers. "You want to talk?" he asked the darker haired man. The man whose warm eyes and quirky humor had done something nobody else could: capture his heart. "Yeah. Yes. Please." Graham spoke softly. "Can I come in?" He
  9. God, as a summer camp veteran, you had me hooked early on. The last few paragraphs nailed it!
  10. And there just had to be a cliffie at the end. You knew I would come back to read more, anyhow! This was a wonderful chapter, giving us views and news of the new united pack, and what might be possible for them as time passes. The new Morningstar will be happy. But for Hugh and for Connor, it must have been hard to admit an attraction, and even harder for Hugh to act on it, let alone the painfully shy Connor. I still want to know how he was hurt, and what puts him in such danger. But that means there will be more of the story, right?

It was a brutal thing to have to say, but there was no sugarcoating it. That Scott felt compelled to tell the truth to Graham simply shows how far Scott has come. But now it is up to Graham, as you say. The two of them will have much to think about, too. Many thanks for continuing to read the story, and for your comments.

Scott told Graham the truth, and opened his soul. Graham would have to be a saint not to reel at the revelations. I think you are quite right that Graham must feel both betrayed and confused right now. He is probably terribly sad that the burgeoning relationship he and Scott shared has come to an abrupt turn. Thank you so much for reading thus far into the story, and for your thoughts.

Scott surely has changed, or he'd never have told the truth at all. But the way forward is shrouded in obscurity. Thank you for reading this story to this point, and for your thoughts.

Graham has a lot of sorting to do. But I think it says a lot about Scott's overall changes that he felt impelled to tell the truth, even if it was a big dose. Now Scott gets to count the cost of speaking the truth. Thanks always for your reading and support! - P

Scott told the truth, and it says a lot that he felt he had to do it. But now, the cost of doing so seems quite high. Thanks for reading!

    Misery

Cookie was a deeply devious man in this...but Scott must realize how right Cookie is. He learned and now knows quite a lot. Scott's heart must be gone into overdrive with Graham at the door. Your fingers are right to be crossed. It could be a hard conversation that follows. Thanks for reading so far into the story, and for your comments.

Well, Scott was indeed furious with Cookie, but slightly mollified, by his praises, too. You're right in that Cookie is no dummy. A sort of benign predator in his own right, maybe. Am wondering what to do about the next chapter...Misery should have published tomorrow, so now I wonder if I publish another chapter tomorrow, or do I wait a week?

I doubt Scott will turn out to be a rich software guru. His work is pretty specialized. It might eventually make a small down payment on a car, maybe. Besides, the conversation about to take place will hold Scott's interest more...thanks for reading and for your thoughts and encouragement.

I am glad you have enjoyed the story to this point. These men have certainly found something of what they need in each other. It is fun to watch them fall for each other. Thanks.

Graham got through to Scott, all right. Now Graham is there to talk some more. Maybe it will go well, maybe not. But Graham at least has a heart.

Yes you unexpectedly got a bonus chapter, as auto post doesnt seem to be working right. But I really appreciate your comments and encouragement. Graham is a thoughtful guy. But he had been hit with quite a bombshell, so what has to say may not be good.

Four days to go. Four days and the cruise would be over. The past two days had been eternal enough; how was he going to make it through four more? He hadn't spoken with Graham since he'd disappeared back to his lab. It was hard to completely avoid someone on a ship as small as this, but Graham was managing it. He'd looked for the brunette at meals, and caught a glimpse, but no more. But in that glimpse, at least Graham looked as haggard as he felt himself. He sighed, deeply, for

"We need to talk," Graham said, seriously, coffee in hand. He looked up, startled. Then he swallowed hard at the words. We need to talk. Over the past day or two, Graham had been quieter than usual, reflective. Once or twice, he had caught Graham looking at him speculatively, as if looking for an answer. It had made him uneasy. The tall researcher was a man who often reasoned and mused aloud. He has noticed Graham’s silences, and wondered about them. The previous evening
