Sorry for being slow in responding...and double sorry you have been under the weather. But that just means the answers you seek are that much closer. I am glad you are enjoying the story, and I hope the suspense has given you a healthful dose of adrenalin. I understand spoilers conflict with cold meds, so I will say nothing more, except to thank you for readng, for all your questions!

Cliffie King! What a title to have...that makes me laugh. Poor Graham, indeed. He's going to be one confused boyfriend. You speculate well, but I am not giving anything away. I have the feeling the police will be calling the shots, not Scott. There will be answers...a few...tomorrow. Thanks for continuing to read the story!
  3. Thank you, Def. I am glad these appealed to you. I sure hope I can keep up!

Remember the old commercial about not messing with Mother Nature? Late snows always remind me of that...'somebody must have screwed up' I say to myself. Glad this made you smile...
  5. This is such a sad, difficult poem. It is all the more so for being quite true for many. Unquestionably, the great pain of falling out of love can be assuaged chemically, and you present that to the reader in stark words. I liked the use of the word 'mudge.'

    Growth

Thus Morningstar grows and grows; I can't tell which I like better - Elinor being a mother again, or watching Connor and Hugh go from caution to confidence. And all under the gaze of our two favorite men. I am looking forward to their coming roadtrip...
  7. These are wonderful, Emi. I really liked Heart of the Night, as it personalizes the last lines.
  8. I can only hit the like button once, but I wish I could do do many times for this. You speak for me in your stanzas, read and know my mind.

Thank you! I am glad you smiled with this.

Yes, indeed. Spring hopes eternal, or something like that...

We can tell the plants what's good for them, but they never seem to listen, do they?

I hope so too! Could not resist posting this one, though...thanks for reading!

    Thaw

Thaw One morning in a February thaw, I chanced to stroll a sunny campus path together with my colleague in the law, enjoying a reprieve from winter's wrath. The borders glowed unnaturally green, for Sol had carried all the snow away; the stratus clouds were nowhere to be seen, bewildered by his mild and gracious ray. The lovely earth had shaken off her shroud, and though untimely, still the warming soil encouraged both the lowly and t
  14. I love this poem. It should be important reading and it is ageless, IMO.
  15. Yes, well, I raged at myself about the keys, and then I could laugh. Later. But I am glad these touched you in one way or another.
  16. You are really, really kind in your response. 'The blue chair' is certainly a grief and sadness observed. The prompts sometimes help - quite often, they do - and sometimes I do something else. I enjoy the fun of trying new forms or reacquainting myself with old ones. I am glad you found something appealing in these.
  17. I blush at your kind comment. Thank you. The challenge is fun...
  18. Thanks for the help on the typo! Add that to my list of mistakes. But more thanks for reading these, and for your comments, which I find immensely encouraging. The prompts are such fun, that I sometimes feel guilty if I think of something different!
  19. Thanks, Dark, for a very informative session. Can't wait to see tim's new fiction, and I really appreciated Palantir's discussion about inspiration.
  20. April 1 To start over again means tentative gestures, held-breath adventures to be sure you're safe; wary, we will circle one another, joyous in our pairing, knowing a start will end. April 2 Truth stands fixed, feet planted squarely, courteous with each welcome guest, treating all attendees fairly; Slim Desire in silk jacket dressed, seductively sips fine Chardonnay, better to leave t

    Switched On

A really lovely story. I remember feeling exactly this way once upon a time. Beautifully told.
  23. Of course, I loved Circular Reasoning, as it is a rare bivariate poem. I am entranced by both 'careful' inspirations, as they are quite marvelous characterizations. Uninspired and Happy Place display your elegant and careful use of words. Masterfully done.
  24. A mention of Sibelius turns my ear to Hugo Alfven, a Swede, and one of my favorite composers. This tune is very well known, and provides me with much that appeals to me. I can whistle pretty well, and I enjoy a solid tune I can take along with me as I walk to work. Alfven's Swedish Rhapsody no. 1 has an infectious first theme that never quite leaves my head, even as the harmonies and music get increasingly complex.
  25. Ahhh, such a lovely description. Beautiful to think of.
